Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Barney Bettie Chester These three babies -- Barney , Bettie , and Chester -- were found in a colony of feral (undomesticated) cats and trying to survive on their own.    Thanks to exceptional foster parents, all three are thriving, their light-hearted natures emerging, and bonding well with people and other cats.    They are spayed/neutered, 3 months of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Barney follows you around the house and plays with shoelaces. Bettie bats her toys around the room, watches them bounce off the walls, then pounces on them. Chester purrs the moment you pick him up for cuddles.

Macy , 10, a tiny angel, was found abandoned on a desert road with a softball-sized chest tumor.    Veterinarians were able to remove the growth and save her life.     Macy has healed well and she's now ready to bless someone wonderful with her love. Macy is a Yorkshire Terrier, good with other dogs, spayed, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .   A gentle, affectionate home is ideal for her.

Heathcliff loves to nurture other big dogs. He envelops them with his arms in a giant hug and licks their faces and necks to soothe them. Other dogs mean the world to Heathcliff . His experiences with humans have included fear and violence. He was at another shelter this spring that asked for our help because he was so afraid of people. Now, four months later, thanks to the dedication of staff and volunteers, Heathcliff realizes people can be kind. He desperately wants to know that you are happy with him.    Heathcliff is a Rottweiler & Shepherd mix, 4 years of age and neutered, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

"Does anyone want me?" Christian longs to know where he belongs and who he can love. Christian is an attractive and humble boy, an Australian Shepherd mix, 6 years of age, good with other dogs, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity with strangers.

"I believe in human kindness." Trina , 13 years of age, remarkably sweet and humble, looks to every person she meets with appreciation and adoration. Jenna , a precious baby girl, saved from peril and now healed, triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA and she is ready to bless the world with her love. Jenna is an affectionate puppy, a Toy Fox Terrier & Chihuahua mix, 5 months of age and now spayed. At the time of rescue she was suffering from the life-threatening parvo virus. We rushed Jenna into emergency care at an animal hospital. Thanks to very generous donors, we were able to have extensive treatment provided for her and veterinarians succeeded in saving Jenna's life.

Channing , desperate for kindness and understanding, must only see the best of human nature from now on. He needs to know what it feels like to be loved. Channing is a Silky Terrier & Tibetan Terrier mix, 5 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his severe neglect and abuse.    We shaved Channing's coat to help give him a fresh start. He no longer hangs his head to the ground and some shine for hope is coming into his eyes.

Emerald begins to beam with hope. She's no longer hanging her head in despair.    She doesn't understand leashes, so we're carrying her from room to room, but she wants to learn. Emerald is a sensitive girl ready to bloom in a loving, forever home where she will be showered with reassurance and kind guidance.    She is a medium-size (42 pounds) Retriever mix, 5 years of age, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .    Emerald was at another shelter that asked for our help with her timidity and fear.

Claudia , 18, treasures peaceful moments and tender touches.  She is gentle and beautiful soul, a tortie point Siamese, spayed, fine with other cats, previously declawed, and awaiting a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Claudia was surrendered by her previous owners when relatives allergic to cats joined their household.  Please share Claudia's picture and help find her someone wonderful.

Dax , now healed and pulling out of depression, has a sparkle of hope in his eyes. He is a kind boy, a Goldendoodle, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with mature kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Dax likes calm dogs, but he fears others. At the time of rescue he had a severe neck wound, which was reportedly caused by his previous family's other dog attacking him. A gentle home is ideal for Dax , please.

There's so much beauty and gratitude in Tristan's face, and his heart overflows with grace. At the time of rescue Tristan was at another shelter in peril from starvation, weighing only 42 pounds. Today, Tristan weighs 73 pounds, and he is full of energy and sparkle in his eyes. Tristan is a young German Shepherd mix, 3 years of age and neutered, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He is compatible with some dogs, but picky about which ones he likes. Please visit and ask for Tristan by name.

Iggy beams when he feels safe.    Sit on the floor and he'll crawl into your lap and rest his head in the palm of your hand. But fingers scare Iggy . He flinches from fast movements and fears that leashes are a form of punishment. We do not know what cruelties he endured in his previous home. Iggy is a young Chihuahua & Toy mix with tremendous loving potential. He is good with other dogs, 3 years of age and neutered, and debuting for a hero adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    Iggy was at another shelter that asked for our help.    Please share his picture and help find him someone wonderful and kind for life.

Brian Coby Jade Peter These four gentle babies -- Brian , Coby , Jade , and Peter -- crave reassurance and do not yet realize they are safe. Their personalities are ready to bloom as they feel more secure and confident. Their four other siblings will be ready for adoption later this month. The 8 puppies were at another shelter that asked for our help. They survived a horrific past (that neither their mother or their 9th sibling survived). Their mother was reportedly a Bully & Retriever mix and their father unknown. These four pups are six months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for hero adoptions today at Nevada SPCA .

An unprecedented 61 rescued kittens, from newborns to 10 weeks of age, need foster heroes please! Please consider sharing this post to provide important help in finding foster parents. Some of the kittens only need foster care for a few weeks. If you can foster, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Adelaide , pictured here, became homeless when her previous owners moved away without her. She is 10 weeks of age and she needs a foster home for approximately 2-3 weeks.

Kingston , a youngster recovering from a violent home when he was a puppy, devotes himself deeply to those he trusts.  He is an especially attractive American Bulldog mix, 1 year of age and neutered, good with other large dogs, housetrained, and debuting for a hero adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Kingston fears strangers and worries they want to hurt him or the people he adores.  An experienced home can help him continue to understand that he is no longer ever in danger.

McClane , 130 pounds of shining love, triumphs over dangerous depression and debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . McClane is a Mastiff & Saint Bernard mix, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and good with mature kids and large dogs. He became homeless when his previous owner's house burned down. McClane was so devastated upon his surrender that he wouldn't stand up in his kennel. One of his caretakers sat with him daily and promised McClane that he was safe and things would get better. On the third day, McClane began wagging his tail as his caretaker approached and stood up for petting. McClane is now a volunteer favorite and enjoys leisurely walks and smiling at people who are kind to him. He is afraid of fireworks, the sounds made in frying pans, and people wrapping their arms around his neck. Please help find someone wonderful for McClane !

Chubby , a big ball of sunshine and love, lays on his back in your lap to happily accept his thrice-daily eye-drops. He was blind at the time of rescue. Two surgeries -- a face-lift (to pull skin folds out of his eyes) and entropion surgery (to repair inward-folding eyelids) -- have restored Chubby's vision. Thank you very much to the generous donors who made his advanced care and rehabilitation and possible! Chubby is an exceptionally joyous English Bulldog, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with kids and some dogs, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .
