Miracle

Image
On October 14, Miracle was skeletal from starvation, perilously weighing only 25.6 pounds.  Today, this triumphant young boy weighs 46.8 pounds and he debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Miracle shines and glows, and he's come to deeply adore the staff and volunteers helping him recover.  He is 1 year of age and neutered, a medium-size Heinz 57 with Bully, sporting white mitts and golden eyes.  We believe Miracle may be compatible with some dogs too.  Please help find him a responsible and stable home where he will never know desperate hunger again.

Snoopy, a 4-pound puppy who survived being struck by a car.

Triumphant little Snoopy , a baby boy, is ready to share his unconditional love and entertaining personality with someone very special. Thanks to extensive medical care and therapy, very generously paid for by a Nevada SPCA supporter, he has recovered from being struck by a car, which resulted in both legs on his left side being "de-gloved" (stripped of skin). Snoopy's therapy at an advanced care veterinary hospital included weeks of hospitalization for daily re-wraps of his bandages and water therapy to help wash away dead skin cells. Snoopy is a Chihuahua puppy, now 3 months of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is wiggly and energetic, and sports the confidence of a lion. Please ask for Snoopy by name.

It is a miracle that I am alive!

Update: Peterbilt was adopted on December 14th! A trucker swerved at the last moment to barely avoid smashing the little white ball of fur lying in the middle of a freeway on-ramp. He pulled over to make sure he had avoided hitting the dog. He realized the dog was still alive, but he had previously been struck by a vehicle and was in shock. The trucker carefully removed him from the street and brought him to us hoping there was a chance to save the dog's life. Both of his back legs were severely broken/crushed and could not be fixed simply with a cast or general operation. We turned for help to an extraordinarily generous supporter. She whisked him to an advanced care specialist hospital, and after extensive treatment, they repaired both of his legs. She also paid for his ongoing therapy sessions to help him recover as much use of his legs for normal walking and functioning as possible. Peterbilt - we named him in honor of the trucker who took the compassionate first step in sa...

This precious little jewel, Josie , arrived to us for rescue in a state of emergency with a large open wound on her abdomen, and she seemed to be in a state of shock. A giant mammary tumor had burst open. We rushed her into medical care and then to a specialist who performed the complicated surgery to remove the tumor. After healing for a few weeks, she made a good recovery and today debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Throughout this trauma, Josie remained trusting and even-tempered. Her loving nature glows. Josie is a young Chihuahua, approximately 8 years of age. She is housetrained and compatible with mature children and other sweet dogs. She would be best in a quieter, gentle home, where she is showered with affection. The lesson that every day is a blessing is especially real for Josie. The testing on her tumor revealed that it was cancerous. Her surgeon believes it all of it was completely removed. Please have your veterinarian regularly examine her to check for the possi...
