A saint who needs a hero.

What better compliment than saying someone makes others feel welcome and at ease?  This is why Zeus is such a magnificent boy, a very convivial and gracious senior.  Zeus is a Rottweiler mix, at least 10 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is exceptional with other dogs and even very shy, insecure dogs can feel renewed and at peace in his presence.  But Zeus needs a hero, because his hips are weak, so walks need to be brief and leisurely, and his bedding very soft and comfy.  Please help us find him a loving home where he can spend his final months or years with dignity and grace, maintaining his bright spirit, which we believe is a blessing to everyone he meets.

The sweeter you speak, the more I listen.

Layla is a gentle young girl who is drawn to soft-spoken people and loves being adored.  She is a petite Chihuahua, 1 year of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Layla gets along very well with other sweet dogs.  Her background is mostly unknown, but she needed us when her previous owner became homeless.

I never thought I would be thrown away by those I loved.

Elvira is a serene, wise older girl who finds herself homeless at 11 years of age due to no fault of her own.  (Her previous owners moved away and left her behind.)  She is even-tempered, housetrained, crate-trained, good with kids, and compatible with some larger dogs.  Elvira is a medium-size Bully mix, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Despite being rejected by those she loved with all of her heart, Elvira still believes in people.  She is very kind and humble, and we ask for your help in finding her a wonderful home for her twilight years.

They gave me up so I could get adopted into a cozy home.

Update: Buddy was adopted on January 13th! Buddy's previous owners loved him, but they became homeless and had to live out of a car.  They did not want to give him up, especially because of his older age (10 years), but they wanted him to have a chance for a better life. Buddy is a sweet, rustic, friendly trooper, still with lots of zip. He is a Yorkshire Terrier, neutered boy, and he debuts for adoption today. Buddy delights in loving people and engaging other dogs, and he is reportedly compatible with cats too.  Please plan on regular grooming care for him. There are deep, untold emotional rewards that come with adopting seniors.  Every day of life is precious and seniors have just as much unconditional love to share as puppies and youngsters.

They say I am proof that dogs can be angels.
