Do you remember Wally , the puppy rescued from the Grand Canyon ? Wally , now socialized in a loving foster home and neutered, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA ! Wally's foster mom says that he loves snuggling even more than playing with his toys. He bonds beautifully with cats and dogs too. Wally is a small blend of many breeds, including Chi-Weenie, and he is now 4 months of age. Please visit and ask for him by name.

Rudy Lawrence Celeste Tender, nurturing care from foster parents saves fragile lives in most desperate need.    So far today, 25 rescued motherless kittens need foster homes. Pictured here: Rudy and Lawrence , 5 weeks of age, were discovered under a dumpster in an office building complex. Celeste , 6 weeks of age, is recovering from malnutrition from a neglectful home. The foster commitment for these three kittens is approximately 8 weeks. The foster commitments for the other 22 kittens ranges from 2 weeks to 3 months.

Herbie, August 8 Herbie, July 3 Herbie, August 8 Do you remember Herbie , the lynx point Siamese kitten rescued in early July and put into a loving foster home?  Herbie is now 4 months of age, neutered, wonderfully socialized, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Herbie is great with other cats, enjoys chatting with people, and finds cardboard boxes to be a source of endless amusement.  Please kitten-proof your home for his safety.

Juan's world is so fun that every object he finds on the floor is perceived as a kitten toy.  He is an adorable baby boy, 4 months of age, neutered, great with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Since his rescue from another shelter he has been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home.

Zorro , a little swashbuckler in the making, is a spunky baby boy ready to join a loving, forever, indoor-only home.  He is an adorable kitten, 3 months of age, neutered, great with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Zorro enjoys wrestling cats and chasing ping pong balls across the floor.  He has been raised and socialized in a compassionate foster home since his rescue from homelessness.

Tabitha and her three sisters were just rescued from an abandoned cardboard box. The girls are 8 weeks of age and need a foster home please for approximately 1 month.  If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren.  In addition, another 8 motherless kittens rescued so far this morning need foster heroes too. Frederick , rescued from a construction site, is one of many baby animals needing foster heroes. So far today, 11 rescued motherless kittens and 3 mom cats with their 12 newborns need foster homes! Newborn siblings Jack & Jill are two of the ten rescued babies needing foster homes so far this morning.    If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. The foster commitments range from 4 weeks to 3 months, depending on the ages of the kittens. Hilda , who is Jack & Jill's mother, was pregnant at the time of her rescue. Danielle , a cheery pregnant girl who has been featured before and urgently needs a foster home to birth and raise her babies!  Details on Danielle .

Blanche studies her toys carefully to determine how they work.  Cuddling on the couch with you though is her favorite thing.  Blanche is a Snowshoe kitten, 3 months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Since her rescue from homelessness she has been lovingly raised and socialized in a wonderful foster home.

Lucy loves playing "tag" and chase with you. Connect several kitten play tunnels and she can dash around for an hour in fun. Once you catch her, she purrs heartily in your arms.  Lucy is a classic medium-hair tabby kitten, 3 months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Lucy and her mother and siblings were found abandoned in a parking lot. Since their rescue they have been socialized beautifully in a wonderful foster home with cats and dogs. ( Lucy's mother, Jenny, has already been spayed and adopted.)

Abigail, Nathaniel, Sebastian Bambi, their mother, when rescued in December Bambi's babies -- Abigail , Nathaniel , and Sebastian -- love to snuggle when done playing with their toys.    Lovingly raised in a wonderful foster home, they are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Many of you will remember Bambi . She was pregnant and nearly ready to give birth when rescued in December.    Bambi has since been spayed and adopted. Now, it's time for her babies to find forever homes too.

Farrah and Felix, along with their gentle mother, Anastasia , and 2 more siblings, need a foster hero please. The babies are about 3 weeks of age and must remain with their mom, who is taking good care of them. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Debra. Anastasia is very docile. She and her babies were found homeless.    The foster commitment will be for approximately 8 weeks please.

Chet Chip Chet and Chip , baby brothers, wonderfully affectionate boys, debut for adoption today at 12 noon at Nevada SPCA . They love cuddling with each other, as well as other dogs, especially during naps and night sleep. The boys are small blends of Yorkshire Terrier & Toy & Chihuahua, 3 months of age, and now neutered. Since their rescue in February, due to their previous owners' hardship, they have been lovingly raised and socialized in a nurturing foster home where they thrived with tender attention.

Ruthie , just rescued and pregnant, and still a baby herself at about 10 months of age, needs a foster home to birth and raise her babies.    She is a lemon Beagle mix, friendly and playful, with an affectionate nature. Many of you may remember Alexis in January when she was pregnant at the time of rescue. Alexis mothered her babies with utmost devotion. In her foster home, when she needed to use the bathroom, she would sprint outdoors and then dash back inside as quickly as she could to be with her puppies. Alexis is now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . She is a petite sweetheart, a Chihuahua, 3 years of age, and good with other dogs. (Her babies will remain in foster care for a short time longer awaiting spay/neuter surgeries.) Alexis, January 2017

Good news! As we were preparing this post we confirmed a loving foster home for five abandoned baby birds just rescued an hour ago. A veterinary hospital found a small cardboard box outside of their front door and could hear the crying pleas for help from the babies. They found four ducks and a chicken inside. Their foster mom is experienced with birds and providing nurturing care to very young animals.

These four babies, just a week of age, and their mother, Breeze , need a foster hero please for approximately 10 weeks of nurturing care and socialization. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. A couple found mom and babies in the backseat of their car. They had accidentally left a door ajar. Breeze has taken good care of her plump, well-cleaned kittens, even though she herself was in very poor and hungry condition.    We want to ensure Breeze and her babies never again know hunger or homelessness.     ( Breeze was too bashful to be photographed this morning, so the picture here is just of her four babies in a basket.)

Jenny delights in being lovingly held and carried.  She is a gorgeous young girl, a lynx point Siamese, 1 year of age, good with other cats, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  At the time of rescue Jenny and her four newborn babies were homeless. Jenny raised her babies in a wonderful foster home. (Her kittens will be available for adoption too in the weeks to come, once they are old enough to be spayed/neutered.)  Please visit and ask for Jenny by name.

Adam , a well-behaved baby boy, loves bonding with cats and dogs, snuggles in laps, and likes meeting people of all ages.  He is a super cute Chi-Weenie puppy (Chihuahua & Dachshund), 5 months of age, crate-trained, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Adam is now well and thriving beautifully.  At the time of rescue his life was in peril from the parvo virus.  We rushed him into emergency care at an animal hospital for extensive treatment.  Thank you very much to the generous donors who made his lifesaving veterinary care possible! Adam has been in wonderful foster care since his release from the hospital.  His foster mom has socialized him and shown him that home is a safe place.
