Prince

Image
Prince , a 5-pound lovebug with hazel, tender eyes, asks for someone very comforting to give him a forever home.  He is a tiny Chihuahua, neutered, great with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  We rescued Prince from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.

Update on Rosie

Image
Many of you may recall Rosie , posted here on September 27 , pregnant and rescued from another shelter (that ran out of space). Rosie's foster parents sent us these two new pictures. Yesterday Rosie gave birth to 9 babies in the care and comfort of her foster home. They report she is doing well, very attentive to her babies, and so relieved that she has such a wonderful place to raise them. [Thank you to all who share posts to help Rosie and other animals needing foster homes and forever homes. We appreciate that you use social media for kindness.]

Sebastian and 6 other Land Crabs

Image
Sebastian and 10 other Land Crabs were caught at the airport by TSA on a man attempting to smuggle them onto a plane in his carry-on. The man had reportedly stuffed them into a bag with their claws banded shut. Four of them died from their injuries. (Authorities confiscated the crabs and we hope efforts continue to bring the man to justice.) Sebastian and the six other survivors are now at Nevada SPCA and needing homes where they will be respected, safe, and comfortable. We suspect they were being smuggled for food or breeding, so this is the first time they are being handled with compassion. The crabs are not used to human touch, but they are not attempting to harm us. Please help find caring homes for them by sharing Sebastian's post. Thank you.

Parker

Image
Parker is adjusting well to life on three legs.    He is full of spirit and so grateful for the safety and comfort of the indoors, not to mention his daily big bowls of salad greens. Parker was found injured under a car in a grocery store parking lot. His hind leg could not be saved.    He is 2 years of age, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Five rescued pregnant dogs need foster homes please!

Image
Eilene Joanie Raquel Eileen , Joanie , and Raquel are three of the five pregnant girls rescued yesterday who need gentle foster homes please. All five were confiscated from a breeder. They are very bashful and we suspect they have lived their entire lives as "breeding machines" and been denied a loving home environment. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA ( www.nevadaspca.org ) in person. The girls are all 5 years of age, Chihuahua mixes, and some are due to to give birth at any moment. Please share to help find heroes. Thank you!

Gardenia needs a foster hero please.

Image
Gardenia was pregnant and on the streets. She is a tiny youngster and we expect her to give birth at any moment. Please share Gardenia's picture to help find a foster hero. She needs a place where she can peacefully and comfortably birth and raise her babies. The foster commitment needs to be approximately 3-4 months. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Marla. Gardenia is approximately 1 year of age, a Chihuahua & Terrier mix, and she's amiable with people and dogs.

Estelle and the benevolence of foster parents.

Image
Estelle , pregnant, and blind, was found today on a family's porch with no sign whatsoever of responsible ownership. As we were preparing to post Estelle's picture and ask for a foster hero, a remarkable foster mom named Ellen stepped forward to help her. Estelle will live with Ellen while she births and weans her babies, then mom and kittens will be spayed/neutered and ready for adoption in August. Even though Estelle is now safe and in a nurturing foster home, we wanted to share her story and thank again the inspiring and benevolent foster parents and other volunteers who dedicate so much of their hearts and time to fragile lives desperate for kindness.

Plea for foster heroes!

Foster homes are needed please for rescued newborns, pregnant animals, and moms with babies.    If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. More information about foster parenting with a tender touch . Mia and Vince , sister and brother pictured here, are about 5 weeks of age. Their foster commitment is for approximately 2 months please. Thank you!

Before & After -- Trio of Goldfish

Image
Before After These three are now swimming in a clean, large 80-gallon tank with all of the food they want and more. The largest one is missing an eye, but they otherwise appear in fine health and peppy in spirit. A person was driving by a home and noticed the small tank in picture 1 beside a trashcan out on the curb, only a fifth of the way full of filthy water, with the three goldfish inside trying to survive. Please help find them a responsible home where they will be safe, respected, and comfortable for life, never to know suffering again. They are ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
