Clayton

A woman heard a newborn kitten crying when she was taking out her trash. She found this little boy underneath the dumpster and his mother was nowhere in sight. We placed him in a wonderful foster home for bottle-feeding and other nurturing care.     Clayton is now 3 months of age, neutered, well-socialized with cats and dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Clayton is 1 of 12 rescued kittens ready for adoption today. 40 more rescued kittens will be ready for adoption tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 10am!

Liza's remarkable will to live.

We want to share Liza -- an inspiring, blind, 10-day-old kitten rescued yesterday from a storm drain -- and tell you about her remarkable will to live. She's stolen the hearts of everyone here and her foster mom and others are doing everything possible for her survival. Liza was discovered after yesterday morning's rains by a dog who was going for a walk. The couple walking the dog said the kitten was in a crevice, appearing to be holding on so as not to wash down through t he grates of the drain. Liza's eyes were completely covered in an enormous scab of crusted infection. (We have Liza's before picture, but ultimately decided it is too graphic to post). Liza's foster mom, Sonja, is encouraged by her progress so far. Liza was resistant to the bottle yesterday, but increasingly reaches for it and accepts it. This picture, taken just minutes ago, shows how Liza is now holding the bottle with both hands. Thank you to Sonja and al...

Bandit

Bandit and 24 more rescued kittens are ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA! Bandit , rescued as a newborn, survived thanks to the nurturing and bottle-feeding from his foster mom.    He is quite the acrobat and loves his toys and playing with other cats and kittens.    Bandit is now 3 months of age, neutered, and ready for a loving, indoor-only, forever home. Bugsy , Bandit's brother, is also entertaining and full of zest for life. Please kitten-proof your home carefully for his safety.

Dozens of fragile lives need nurturing foster care please.

Fred and George and 29 more rescued motherless kittens need loving foster homes for nurturing care and socialization. Also today, a mother cat and her 6 newborns were rescued and need foster care too. We expect many more kittens to be rescued tomorrow too. Please help by sharing the post or visiting Nevada SPCA in person. The foster commitments range from 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on which ones you can help. Fred and George are brothers, 3 weeks of age, found alone outdoors without their mother. They need bottle-feeding and at the earliest stages of learning to eat on their own.

Plea for foster heroes!

Amorette ("little love") and her two siblings need a nurturing foster home please. They are just days old, found abandoned and motherless in a cardboard box in the courtyard of an apartment complex. They need bottle-feeding for a few weeks, then several more weeks of loving foster care, for a total foster commitment of approximately 12 weeks. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Please consider sharing this post to help find foster heroes. Motherless newborns are being rescued daily and need emergency tender care. Thank you.
