Phoebe , a Mini Bully junior puppy, is happiest giving you hugs and snuggling in your arms. She hopes she can be your baby forever. Phoebe is 6 months of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Phoebe is compatible with other friendly dogs (her size and larger). Phoebe has a birth defect with her hind legs and needs a hero. She can walk just for short distances. Her veterinarian believes her legs may gain strength with short walks and swimming.

Bonita and her 6 babies, just rescued, need a foster home for approximately 6 weeks please. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for DJ. Her son Tiger is on her right and her daughter Elise is on her left. They were surrendered due to their previous owner's financial hardship. She worried we wouldn't take Elise because of her missing right front paw (birth defect), but Elise is the one getting the most hugs and kisses from the staff and volunteers. Bonita is very good-natured, amiable, and petite. She has been a good mom to her babies and taught them that people are kind.

Rebel is a kind, easy-going Beagle asks for a hero. He walks with small steps and sometimes gets wobbly. He was diagnosed with neurological damage (old injury or birth defects), but he is not in pain. Special precautions needed stairs, pools, and other potential hazards. Rebel is 6 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He can be around other dogs, but only if fed meals and treats separately. Please help find someone wonderful for Rebel .  We rescued him from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown.

Coffee is initially shy, but his heart soars with people he knows and he gives them doggie kisses and his personality blooms. He is a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund), just under 3 years of age, good with other dogs, neutered boy, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA. Coffee's hind left leg doesn't bend (birth defect), but he walks and hops well.

Chip loves being held and reassured.  He wants someone to love, and to be loved and forever safe in return.  Chip is a tiny, 7-pound Longhair Chihuahua mix, 1 year young, neutered boy, good with other dogs and housetrained, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Chip was at another shelter that asked for our help.  He was born with a cleft palate.  Thanks to generous donors to our advance care fund, we had surgery provided for repair of part of his cleft and he can eat & drink without problems.  (The area under his nostrils was not able to be repaired.)  Please help find someone wonderful for Chip .

Bunny chirps and begins purring when you call her name.  She is a social baby girl and adores the companionship of people and cats who like to cuddle with her.  Bunny is an angelic kitten with blue & cream & white coloring (dilute calico), 4 months of age and spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Bunny needs a hero.  Due to a birth defect (spina bifida) she has incomplete development of her spinal cord.  She walks by hopping and can even jump small distances with the same motions.  Please take extra thorough precautions for her safety throughout your home.

Chuck wants so much to be held and comforted that he cries when you set him down.  He is an Indian Runner duckling, about 6 weeks of age.  (This breed is known for small wings and not being able to fly, standing tall, and making less noise than other breeds.)  A man was sitting in a park when Chuck ran right up to him asking to be held.  ( Chuck is domesticated, so the prevailing view here is that he was abandoned at a park, but couldn't feed himself and longed to be with people.)  Chuck loves to swim, but his lack of feet webbing (a birth defect, according to his veterinarian) limits his ability to dive underwater.  Chuck needs a home where he will be valued as a family member, safe for life, and where he will get all of the human interaction he wants and needs.  If you would like to meet and adopt Chuck , please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Janean.

Sonny is comfortable being cradled in kind arms.  He is an adorable, playful baby boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sonny is a Chihuahua mix (expected to remain small in size), 3 months of age and neutered, and great with other dogs.  He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his birth defect, a permanently dislocated knee in one of his hind legs.  Sonny walks and plays without interruption and surgery is not needed at this time (and may never be needed, but please have your veterinarian monitor his development through the years).

Penelope is a tiny, 8-pound lovebug with enormous unconditional love to share.  She is a Longhair Chihuahua, about 7 years of age and spayed, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Penelope enjoys other sweet dogs.  She copes well with a birth defect to her hind left leg.  Penelope cannot walk on the leg and it does not cause her pain.  She uses her leg occasionally for leaning and sitting, so her veterinarian recommended against amputation.  Please help us find her a gentle forever home.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these beautiful portraits for Penelope .

Nana is a quiet-natured young sweetheart with a gentle spirit and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a beautiful Terrier & Toy mix, spayed girl, 3 years of age, good with other dogs and reportedly housetrained.  Nana was at another shelter and needed our help because she has only two toes on her front left paw (a birth defect).  She uses this leg to help her walk, but she likes to only walk short distances.  A relaxed lifestyle without a large stairway is ideal for Nana .  Please help us find this angel a hero.

Superstar is a tiny little buttercup who likes to rest in your hands and give you doggie kisses.  She is a blond Chihuahua, spayed girl, about 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Superstar gets along beautifully with cats, dogs, and mature kids.  She is very gentle and just wants peace and love.  Superstar needed us when her previous owner passed away and she had nowhere to go.  Despite a birth defect that bows her back legs, she can walk short distances.  Please help us find this angel a hero.

We think Joanie's lopsided grin (a birth defect) helps express her very fun-loving nature. This beautiful young girl has so much joy and she wants everyone around her to be happy too.  Joanie wags her tail in circle O's and you can't help but smile at the uniqueness of this wonderful girl. Joanie is a medium-size Boxer & Bully mix, 2 years of age, spayed, and available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She loves to play and be at your side, and she may be fine with some dogs. Elroy rolls over on your feet pleading for belly rubs.  He is like a teddy bear who has come to life to snuggle and give you doggie kisses. Elroy is a 33-pound Heinz 57, perhaps a Shetland Sheepdog mix though his appearance is quite unique, about 5 years of age, neutered boy, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He has a shrunken right eye with impaired vision (birth defect) and his coat had to be shaved to the skin due to severe neglect. We rescued Elroy from another shelter. Please help us find him a very warm, loving, forever home.

Doodlebug is an energetic baby boy who loves playing with other cats and kittens.  He is about 7 months of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Doodlebug's right ear folds backward (birth defect) but the rest of his ear seems to function normally.  Doodlebug enjoys squeaky toys and hopes you will give him lots of quality time daily.  Please kitten-proof your home for his safety.

Gadget is an exceptionally affectionate kitten triumphantly debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He loves to cuddle and give you kitty kisses. Gadget does not have a tail and limited mobility in his backlegs (due to a congenital defect called spina bifida), but he is very determined and athletic, still a fast runner and great climber. Gadget has been lovingly socialized in a foster home and he gets along well with cats and dogs. He is under 6 months of age, neutered, and now ready for a wonderful, forever home. Please help find Gadget a hero.

Update: Cookie Monster was adopted on February 5th! We are smitten with this dainty girl. Cookie Monster loves to be held and cherished.  She is a Teacup Chihuahua, spayed, 2 years young, debuting for adoption today. She has slightly deformed front feet (birth defect), but walks well. Cookie Monster is good with other sweet dogs and reportedly compatible with gentle, mature children. She is reportedly mostly housetrained, with occasional accidents, so your patience and guidance may be needed to help her complete housetraining. Cookie Monster needed us when her previous owner was evicted from her home.

Update: Drama was adopted on May 29th! This innocent little angel has had numerous obstacles during her short life so far. But her spirit is bright and she is grateful for every loving day on Earth. Drama is a Chihuahua mix puppy with lovely brindle coloring and precious, front-folding ears. She is spayed, 5 months of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Drama from her previous owner who could not afford to provide her with the emergency care needed to save her life after she contracted the parvo virus. We had intensive medical care provided for Drama and she recovered. But during her treatment her veterinarian discovered that she has a congenital defect -- a mid-grade pulmonary valve murmur -- that could affect her lifespan. Drama will do best with a quieter lifestyle. It is also important to keep her at a proper weight, as extra pounds just burden her system that much more. Update: Pip was adopted on December 11th! Pip is a frisky, chipper, and adorable little boy. He is a tri-color Chihuahua, neutered, and 5 years of age. He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Pip enjoys other sweet dogs. Pip's special need is due to a birth defect with his front right foot, which has a claw-like shape. It seems to have minimal impact though on his walking and playing, and at this time it does not appear that he needs medical care for it. We believe Pip will do best in a very loving, attentive home where he is showered with affection.
