Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Lovebug , a charming junior puppy, loves to share her joy and goodwill.  She is an incredibly cute, tail-less blend of many breeds, including Doberman Pinscher, Shepherd & Whippet, about 9 months of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.  Lovebug was found on the streets with no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).  She needs leash training and other kind guidance to learn good behaviors.

You would think Justin is a puppy, based on his enthusiasm and fun-loving demeanor and radiant good cheer.    Justin is actually 11 years of age and turning 12 in November. He is housetrained and compatible with kids and dogs.    Justin is a sporty, handsome blend of Whippet & Labrador Retriever (and other breeds) with silver facial accents. He is neutered and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Ariel Ariel Aubree Aubree Ariel and Aubree , the 4th and 5th of the 33 rescued dogs, are among the smallest at just 25 lbs and 27 lbs. Both are adjusting and improving nicely and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Their dozens of siblings and cousins will be ready in the days and weeks to come based on their emotional progress and spay/neuter surgeries. As you may recall, the 33 dogs were confiscated from squalor and witnessed horrors. Their previous owner was convicted of animal cruelty. Here is the original post about them with more detail. Ariel and Aubree both love treats! We are glad that they have such hearty appetites. They were frightened of us at first, but they now allow us to handle and cuddle them without fear of panic attacks. Update: Clifford was adopted on September 2nd! Cute and exuberant, Clifford is an athletic puppy who craves playtime. He is a medium size Heinz 57 with Whippet, neutered male, about 9 months of age. We rescued Clifford from another shelter, but we know about his behaviors from his foster home after being rescued. He is housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with kids and dogs. Clifford will do best with dog obedience training to help channel his high energy into good behavior.

Update: Bella Zool was adopted on December 27th! A very sensitive, cautious girl, Bella Zool is a youngster still building self-esteem and confidence. We see her as a beautiful flower about to bloom, provided she gets the right loving home environment. Bella Zool is a Whippet mix, spayed, just a year of age. She is fine with many dogs, but she reportedly lost her home due to fighting with another dog over food (more below on this). She is reportedly compatible with cats and "mostly" housetrained (with a doggie door). Bella Zool's previous owner mentioned two special needs. First, perhaps due to an episode of previous starvation, she has mild food aggression. Second, she reportedly "piddles" (releases small amounts of urine when very frightened, usually with strangers).
