Giorgio

Giorgio beams with kindness and good cheer.  He is a remarkably cute blend of American Eskimo & West Highland White Terrier, 3 years young, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Giorgio gets along well with other dogs and he enjoys people.   His special challenge is that he is terrified of being groomed -- we don't know what he has endured to cause this -- and may get nippy out of extreme fear that you are intending to hurt him.  So Giorgio needs a very experienced, adult-only home to help him realize harm will never come his way again.

Austin, a young West Highland White Terrier mix with three legs triumphantly debuting for adoption today.

Austin was at another shelter after being found on the streets with a broken hind leg.  We rescued him and took him to a veterinary hospital.  Because of the location and severity of the break, Austin's leg could not be saved.  But Austin is adjusting very well to life on three legs and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Austin is an exceptionally sweet and loving West Highland White Terrier mix, 1 year young, neutered boy, and he loves gentle people and dogs.

Thank you for giving us more time to find forever homes.

Keanu Scottie Tillie Update: Tillie was adopted on February 10th! We rescued these three sunny angels from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space. They debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are separate from one another and can certainly be adopted separately. Keanu is a friendly, fun-loving Siberian Husky & German Shepherd mix, neutered boy, 2 years young.  We love his energy and positive attitude, despite being head-shy and showing some signs of past abuse (fear of quick movements, etc.). Scottie is a kind-hearted, exceptionally attractive Wirehaired Fox Terrier, neutered boy, 8 years of age.  He enjoys people and dogs, and he is still full of zip and curiosity like a puppy. Tillie relishes being adored and nurtured.  She is a beautiful West Highland White Terrier mix, spayed girl, just under one year of age.  She needs regular professional grooming care and patience from you as she learns to walk on a leash.  Sh...

Update: Patch was adopted on December 19th! Patch is a suave, theatrical little fellow and he is generally well-behaved and endearing. He is predominantly West Highland White Terrier, though perhaps a mix. He is neutered, 8 years of age, and today he debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Patch is versatile and may be just as at home with a family as he is with a single person or couple. He is housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with dogs and kind children. Terrier knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption. Also, a very secure home and yard is needed for his safety , as he reportedly has a bad habit of trying to run out the front door. Patch needed us due to his owner's financial collapse.

I can be your zippy, enthusiastic boy.

Update: Cartier was adopted on December 26th! We sure expected Cartier to be adopted many weeks ago. But it is impossible to predict which of the animals will really find homes right away versus those who need more time and opportunities to reach potential adopters. Cartier is a very fun-loving youngster with a sunny personality. He is a West Highland White Terrier ("Westie") mix, neutered, approximately two years of age. Cartier is compatible with some dogs and shows signs of housetraining. Like many other Terriers, he gives himself over wholeheartedly to those he likes, yet is not shy about expressing his aversion to those who he dislikes. Cartier has divided our staff and volunteers into these same two groups -- snuggling with some of us and being cranky with others. Ideally, we would like him to be adopted by someone knowledgeable about Westies and familiar with the sometimes testy nature of Terriers. You can see more of Cartier in this brief video. The bottom line i...

Update: Snow Prince was adopted on July 18th! Snow Prince is handsome and regal, and he sure knows it! Confidence is not something he lacks. But he is very friendly and charming, so he is grounded and not aloof. He is good with dogs too and fits in well with small groups. His appearance is unique. Our best determination is that he is a cross between West Highland White Terrier and Cairn Terrier. He is a neutered male, approximately 2 years young. We rescued Snow Prince from another shelter. We know very little about his background other than that he was found abandoned, roaming the streets. Snow Prince would love to join your kingdom! He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
