Theresa , matted and neglected, was spotted by a person sitting on the side of a road and not moving. Many hours later, she was still there, sitting and not moving. The heartbreaking likelihood, according to the veterinarians we consulted, is that she was waiting for the person who abandoned her on the street to come back for her. She didn't know what else to do. The person safely caught her and brought her to Nevada SPCA for safety and care. We had her groomed, vaccinated, spayed, chipped, and placed her on a premium probiotic food plan. Trevi is a fountain of love, joy, and good cheer!  He wants everyone else around him to be happy too.  Trevi is a small Terrier and Toy mix (18 pounds), neutered boy, 7 years of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He enjoys other dogs and loves meeting new people. Esteban , an adorable youngster, ran into the street and stopped in front of a car. Fortunately, the kind woman was able to brake in time and get him out of danger. He had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not neutered). Esteban is a Toy & Terrier mix with a loving nature.    He is 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is still puppy-like, so please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.   Esteban adores people and enjoys playing with other dogs.

Jolene , a baby girl who hopes you will let her steal your heart, is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Toy & Terrier mix puppy, 7 months of age and spayed, and good with other sweet dogs.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. We expect her to remain very small in size.  Jolene was found on the streets with no sign of responsible ownership.  Please visit and ask for her by name.

Valerie was at another shelter that asked for our help.  Her right front paw was deformed (birth defect).  We rescued her and a veterinary specialist recommended amputation.  Valerie has healed and adjusted well, and we love her positive, can-do attitude.  She is a Toy & Terrier mix, 2 years young, spayed girl, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Valerie adores people and dogs and she is eager to begin her new life.

Julian wants to join a stable, quiet home where he will be treasured.  His past was a violent one and he will cry and shake if anyone around him exhibits any anger, fearing that he will be the target of the rage.  But Julian is blooming, relishing the kindness of staff and volunteers, and he is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is a cute Toy & Terrier mix, 5 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and housetrained & crate-trained.  Great thanks to Pet'ographique for these sensational portraits to help Julian find a lifelong hero.

Jewel wants to believe in people again and she has enormous loving potential.  She is desperate to connect with people, but her soul has been wounded by cruelty, so she hesitates.  Trust does not come easily for Jewel, but gets earned with time and patience, based on respect and kindness.  Jewel is an adorable Toy & Terrier mix, 2 years young, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is good with other dogs and will likely do best in a home with a big brother or big sister dog to help her adjust.  Jewel was found abandoned on the streets, terrified and abuse.  Please help us find her a hero.

Update: Maxine has been adopted! Maxine is an angelic, cuddly young girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Maxine and her four newborns (just days old) were dumped at a police station in January. We placed Maxine and her babies in a loving foster home so she could raise and nurture them in peace and comfort. Maxine is now spayed and ready for a forever home.  Her babies remain in foster care but will soon be ready for adoption too. Maxine is a beautiful, petite Toy & Terrier mix, 1 year of age, housetrained, crate-trained, and compatible with cats and dogs. She loves to snuggle and play fetch.
