I need an angel.

Akira is blind in her right eye. Akira's hind left leg was amputated all the way up to her hip.  Her tail is hanging down below her hip in this picture. Will you please help find a hero for Akira ?  She is a Standard Poodle, 10-12 years of age, who bonds quickly with gentle people.  Akira is blind in her right eye and she has three legs.  Last year her hind left leg was broken so badly that it had to be amputated.  (The cause of her broken leg was not confirmed, but there reportedly was domestic violence in the home.)  Akira is housetrained.  She likes kind adults, but reportedly does not like young kids.  Akira needs a peaceful, stable home for her twilight years.

Brutus is a very handsome, young Standard Poodle debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is sensitive, and shy with new people, but loving and warm-hearted with those he knows and trusts.  A gentle home with someone knowledgeable about Standard Poodles is ideal.  Brutus is 1 year of age, housetrained and crate-trained, neutered, fine with some dogs, and he needs regular professional grooming care.  Please ask for Brutus by name when you visit.

Let me melt your heart.

Update: Nala was adopted on July 23rd! Nala is an intelligent puppy with a bubbly personality. She is an apricot Standard Poodle, spayed female, approximately 8 months of age. She is still growing and well on her way to being large-sized. Besides regular grooming, Standard Poodles are known for being quite smart, so breed knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred. Nala was surrendered to us because her owner was having difficult with her housetraining. There is no substitute for a stable routine with housetraining, which also takes patience. We have no doubt Nala will housetrain successfully and promptly once she is on a regular schedule that she can count on. Nala debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
