Sammy

Sammy is sporty and loves hiking, but when it's time to relax he thinks of himself as a "lap dog". He is very devoted to those he loves and wants to join you for every activity, even simple car rides. Sammy is a handsome Shepherd mix, 5 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . He reportedly worries that children and dogs are going to try to steal his toys. An adult-only home without other animals is ideal for Sammy .

Sammy's favorite things include playing hide & seek in empty boxes, lounging in his hammocks, and studying the faces of the people who hold him.  He is a friendly and engaging youngster, a sable ferret, 2 years of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Sammy needed us when his previous owners moved away without him.

Sammy , 14, is surprisingly peppy, especially in his quest to be at your side, following you from room-to-room devotedly. He is an incredibly endearing Miniature Schnauzer mix, neutered, housetrained, good with dogs and kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sammy is humble and unassuming, but just asks that he always has a person or dog to be with so he never feels lonely. Please share and help find a hero for Sammy .

Sammy , 10, a tiny 4-pound sweetheart, loves gentle cuddling. He is seeking a quiet home with a precious routine he can count on. Sammy is a Chihuahua, neutered, good with cats and dogs, crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He needed us due to his previous owner's financial hardship.

Dean and Sammy

Dean Sammy Dean and Sammy are shy, handsome baby brothers debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  The boys are 5 months of age, neutered, and especially interested in toys that make noise.  Please kitten-proof your home carefully for their safety. We rescued the kittens and their mother (named Erica , and she will be ready for adoption next week) when their previous owner became homeless.  Please visit and ask for Dean and Sammy by name.

Look into my ocean-blue eyes...

Stewart Oscar Sammy Three blue-eyed boys -- Stewart , Oscar , and Sammy -- are separately debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. All three happen to be compatible with friendly dogs, as well as other cats.  Stewart is a Balinese, 4 years of age and neutered, sporting the cutest meow and he plays with balls with bells inside.  Oscar is a lilac-point Siamese, 6 years and neutered, who likes to sleep on the bed at your side.  Sammy is a seal-point Siamese, 6 years and neutered, who will follow you around the house to remain in your loving presence.

I am feeling hopeful again.

Sammy loves being around people -- getting belly rubs, sitting at your side, enjoying a leisurely and peaceful day.  He is housetrained and good with kids.  Sammy is 12 years of age, a blend of many breeds including Retriever & Shepherd, and he prefers not to be around other dogs.  Sammy was so forlorn about becoming homeless -- his previous owner cited "not enough time" as the reason for giving up on him -- but thanks to caring volunteers he now looks forward to each day and taking walks and hearing praise.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing Sammy's bright spirit in these new portraits to help him find a loving, forever home.

Sammy needs a hero.

Sammy's mom went into a rest home and he misses her.    Please help us find him a hero.    Sammy is a petite Dachshund with a gentle, friendly spirit, reportedly 10 years of age (but we suspect older), a neutered boy, debuting for adoption this morning at Nevada SPCA.   He is housetrained and great with other dogs.    Sammy's cupped ears and blue sunburst in his right eye further reflect his cuteness. We had his teeth cleaned and a growth removed from his chest.    Sammy is now ready to share his unconditional love with someone wonderful during his twilight years.

Before & After: Sammy, a Briard mix, who is now ready for adoption.

Sammy upon arriving at Nevada SPCA on the day of his rescue. Sammy today, after his matted coat had to be shaved away. Before & After: It's hard to believe this is the same dog.  But at the time of rescue, Sammy , a Briard mix, was so matted and knotted that we had to have his coat shaved completely off, to his skin even. Now, his hair can grow back beautifully and cleanly without painful tangles. Sammy is a very engaging, good-natured boy and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is about 5 years of age, neutered, tail-less, and fine with most dogs. Sammy was taken to a government-funded shelter when his previous owner died.  But he was running out of time there, perhaps overlooked due to his neglected condition. Of course, he is safe now, and we ask for your help in finding Sammy a terrific new start in life with a loving, forever home.

I am so puzzled why I lost my home.

Update: Sammy was adopted on April 2nd! Super cute and lovable, Sammy' s gentle charms are irresistible. He is a Shih-Tzu mix puppy, neutered male, about 10 months of age. Please budget extra for regular professional grooming care for him. Sammy needed us because his previous owners said they did not have enough time for him. He enjoys other sweet dogs. While crate-trained, he reportedly has occasional accidents, so your patience and guidance are needed to help him complete housetraining. Sammy debuts for adoption today.

I belong in the lap of a very loving person.

Update: Sammy was adopted on December 14th! Sammy is so affectionate that he cannot help but roll around on your lap and rub your hand, purring in joy. He is a Lilac Point Siamese with stunning good looks and pastel blue eyes. He is neutered, 5 years of age, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We believe that all cats belong safely indoors only as members of the family, and this is even more critical for Sammy because he was previously declawed (front feet). Sammy needed us for rescue due to his owner's financial collapse. He is good with other sweet cats and needs regular brushing (please plan on brushing a few times weekly).

What does the future have in store for me?

Update: Sammy was adopted on October 17th! Sammy's sunny personality has helped him immensely through a dark period of loneliness and rejection. He is only 2 years of age and his previous owner surrendered him to a municipal shelter without stating a reason. We then rescued him from that shelter when he ran out of time there. Sammy is an attractive Cocker Spaniel mix who gets along well with other sweet dogs. He needs regular grooming care, so please plan accordingly. Sammy is neutered and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I need you to believe in me.

Update: Sammy went into a long-term foster home. Sammy has tremendous loving potential. Like all of us, he is a work in progress. But he is having difficulty overcoming early abuse and trusting new people, who make him very anxious. Once he is familiar with you, he is full of kisses and affection. Sammy is a very cute mix of Shar-Pei and Retriever. He is a neutered male, just two years young. He is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained. He has also completed some dog training and he is motivated well with food and treats. One of Sammy's adoption benefits is free basic dog obedience training (Dog-E-Mom Dog Training). Please consider this golden boy. Help him gain self-esteem and become the wonderful boy we know he can be.
