Melvin , traumatized by his previous owner's death (he was reportedly in the home at the time), wanted nothing to do with us at first. In the weeks since he has accepted kindness, begun prancing when he walks, and even started to trust us with basic handling.    Melvin has a long way to go to reach his full loving potential, so please share his picture to help find him a hero. Melvin is a Terri-Poo, 9 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . When Melvin finds someone he trusts not to hurt him, he leans against them and never wants to leave their side.  Melvin is so terrified of being struck that it breaks our hearts, but we know his blooming has already begun and that this young boy will soon know a lifetime of joy and peace.  Melvin is a cream & white Smooth Collie & Retriever mix, 2 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter.  A big sister or brother dog may be ideal to help Melvin adjust and heal from his violent, cruel past.  Please share his pictures to help find him a hero.

Update: Melvin was adopted on May 6th! One look into Melvin's bright eyes and you can see he is bursting with jubilation, excitement, anticipation, and innocence. But this puppy needs some manners. Dog training will help you channel his energy into good behavior. Melvin is a butterscotch & white Bully mix with golden eyes. He is a neutered male, approximately 10 months young. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection. Melvin lost his home due to attacking a bird and his anxiety around children. He needs an experienced, adult owner, 100% committed to dog training, who can give him the direction he needs to become a well-balanced boy. Melvin is ready for adoption today.
