Lucy loves playing "tag" and chase with you. Connect several kitten play tunnels and she can dash around for an hour in fun. Once you catch her, she purrs heartily in your arms.  Lucy is a classic medium-hair tabby kitten, 3 months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Lucy and her mother and siblings were found abandoned in a parking lot. Since their rescue they have been socialized beautifully in a wonderful foster home with cats and dogs. ( Lucy's mother, Jenny, has already been spayed and adopted.)

Lucy , devoted and intelligent, craves acceptance.  She whines if she thinks you are ignoring her and coos when you pet her and tell her she's a sweetheart.  Lucy is a lovely young spirit, a Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and spayed, housetrained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  She needed us due to her previous owners' hardship.

Lucy , now healed so beautifully from being run over by a car, triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  This endearing youngster deeply appreciates every act of kindness.  Lucy is a blond Terrier & Toy mix, 2 years of age, good with other dogs and now spayed.  At the time of rescue she was found prone in a street with a severe head wound. Thank you to the donors who made her care and healing possible.

Lucy is an affectionate baby girl who likes hearing praise and reassurance.  She enjoys playing fetch and bonding with other dogs.  Lucy was surrendered to us because she does not like toddlers.  She is a very cute Chihuahua mix puppy, almost 6 months of age, housetrained, and now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.

You're looking at my soul. Please help me.

Many of our volunteers and staff have welled up with tears just seeing the torment in Lucy's eyes.  You know that she trusted and unconditionally loved the people who hurt her, and then dumped her, so the world does not make sense and she understandably feels lost.  We're grateful she is giving humans one more chance.  Lucy so badly wants to believe in people again.  Some progress is being made and she is flinching less when we reach for her.  Lucy is remarkably gentle, despite all she has endured.  She is a small Bully mix, about 4 years of age, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued her from another shelter.  Lucy has come so far and we cannot let her down.  Please help Lucy find someone who will love her forever and shield her from evil.

I may be 10 years old, but I have the innocence of a baby.

Lucy likes to greet new people by gently licking their hand and then sharing her luminous smile.  She is a Rottweiler, 10 years of age, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is 73 pounds of unconditional love!  Much of her past is unknown.  Lucy was surrendered to another shelter when her previous owners moved away.  Will you please help us find Lucy the best of homes so that she never faces rejection again?

Can you please make sure I never land on the streets again?

Lucy triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue she had just been hit by a car, with the marks from a tire visible across her left back side.  Lucy was in shock from the trauma, but the veterinary hospital confirmed that somehow she had escaped this close call with tragedy without any broken bones or severe injuries.  Lucy craves attention and she is good with other dogs.  She is a Bully mix, about 3 years of age, spayed, and dreaming of a responsible, loving, forever home.

Can we go swimming every day?

Lucy loves to go swimming!  She is a gorgeous Pointer & Labrador Retriever mix, 3 years young, housetrained, good with children & cats & dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is shy with strangers, but very devoted to those she knows.  Lucy needed us when she was left behind and handed away to friends, and so forth, involuntarily playing "musical chairs" with new homes. She needs someone who will commit to her for life.

A guardian angel must have saved me.

Update: Lucy was adopted on January 31st! Lucy is a dainty kitten with a tender, gentle spirit and affectionate nature. She is a shorthair feline, brown tabby & white, with striking facial features, spayed girl, about 6-7 months of age. This sweetheart was reportedly among a large litter of kittens ravaged by a loose dog, all of who were killed during the attack except for Lucy (and she had severe injuries). The neighbor who witnessed the attack was devastated and rushed Lucy to an emergency veterinary clinic to try to save her life (since the kittens' owners were unwilling or unable to do this).  The clinic reconstructed Lucy's jaw and the neighbor brought her to us for adoption so she can live a proper, safe life, indoors, where she will be protected in a loving home. We cannot emphasize enough how strongly we feel about cats living strictly indoors.  Tragedies, like the one that took the lives of all of Lucy's sisters and brothers, are commonplace for...

Do I dare allow myself to be hopeful again?

Update: Lucy was adopted on January 15th! Lucy was the victim of starvation. Her previous owner said he left her with one of his son's friends to care for her when he moved away, but when he returned five months later she was skeletal from extreme neglect. We are glad to have Lucy here for her physical and emotional recovery, and so that we can find her a compassionate new owner who will never let her experience the horror of starvation and abandonment again. Lucy debuts for adoption today.  She is a lovely Boxer mix, brindle and white, spayed, and approximately 5 years of age.  She is reportedly housetrained and compatible with dogs and mature kids. Her recovery will need to continue in her new home.  Please note that she was so traumatized from her starvation -- her spirit was as limp as her body -- that she refused to eat dog food despite being so hungry.  We lured her back to eating with human food, which she just could not resist.  A variety o...

Together. Forever.

Update: Lucy & Tosser were adopted on November 6th! If you have room for two, we believe you would be hard-pressed to find sweethearts with better natures than this pair of Puggles (Pug & Beagle mixes). Lucy & Tosser are 2-year-olds, sister and brother, strongly bonded, and debuting for adoption today. This lighthearted pair needs to remain together for the rest of their lives, as they are not just siblings, but soul-mates. Lucy & Tosser are reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with kind children of all ages. They needed us when a member of their previous family became seriously ill.

I did not do anything wrong.

Update: Lucy was adopted on July 27th! Like the vast majority of animals in rescue organizations and shelters, Lucy lost her home out of no fault of her own. In Lucy's case, someone in her previous home was allergic to her. She is a beautiful baby girl, friendly and outgoing and curious about the world. Lucy is a chocolate, tan, and white Beagle puppy, spayed, approximately 6 months of age. She is reportedly compatible with dogs and mature children, and she needs your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining. Beagle knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Lucy debuts for adoption today.

My nightmare is over. Please show me how wonderful a loving home can be.

Update: Lucy & Lulu were adopted on June 12th! Lucy is bouncing back beautifully from a previous owner who neglected and abused her and her sister Lulu . She is a bright-eyed, fun-loving little sweetheart, understandably timid with new people. Lucy and Lulu are Yorkshire Terriers, spayed females, about 5-6 years of age. The girls would love to be adopted together, but this is not required. Lucy and Lulu are compatible with other friendly dogs and need regular professional grooming care, so please budget extra accordingly. Lucy and Lulu debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I wiggle with enthusiasm!

Update: Lucy was adopted on October 17th! Lucy has a sunny personality and she glows and bursts with joy. Her whole body wiggles when she is excited and she loves to cuddle and rub against you. Her mother is a Boxer (named Doeja, who is also available for adoption), so our best guess is that her father is a Retriever or Shepherd. She is one year young and still very puppy-like in temperament. Lucy and Doeja needed rescue when their owners moved out of the country. Both are housetrained and compatible with kind, mature children. Lucy is hesitant trusting adult men, but very warm once she is familiar with them. Lucy and Doeja would love to stay together forever, but it is not required that you adopt them both. They are wonderful together, but picky about which other dogs they like. Lucy and Doeja are two of almost two dozen dogs debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
