Four adorable gerbils ready to become superstars in loving homes.

Betty Grable Jean Harlow Lana & Lavender These four young girls are some of the gerbils available for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. Betty Grable is very friendly and enjoys fastidiously customizing her living areas.  She has a "tree stump" toy house that she loves hiding in and peeking out of. Jean Harlow delights in running in her wheel and hiding tasty pumpkin seed snacks. Lana & Lavender are strongly bonded girls who need to stay together.  Both are petite and like to snuggle together.

My heart is as soft as my fur.

We love Busby Berkeley's placid demeanor. Gentle and content, he adores attention from kind people. Busby Berkeley is a handsome Lop, neutered boy, about 18 months young. Besides his daily salad greens, he fancies shredded wheat treats (which are safe when natural and not coated in sugar). He needed us when his previous family surrendered him without explanation. Please ask for Busby Berkeley by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

I will thrive in a gentle home environment.

Amity needed us when her previous owner became homeless. Amity is a very pretty rabbit, a Dutch and English Spot mix, spayed, about 5 years of age, and she is available for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. She is a sensitive girl, used to a mellow lifestyle.  While she is friendly and calm-natured, she is terrified of being picked up.  Many bunnies prefer to spend time with you on the floor, rather than be up in the air, so this is not uncommon. Amity is especially enthusiastic for kale and her daily salads of greens and veggies, plus Timothy hay is a necessary favorite too. She is one of 90 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Is there room in your family for me?

Update: Missy was adopted on December 24th! Missy likes resting and hiding in her cubby hole, but she bravely comes out to greet us and when we deliver her daily greens and veggies. She is fine with being held, as long as you are gentle and patient with her, and hold her for only short times. Missy is a beautiful American breed guinea pig with cocoa, orange, and white coloring, about 3 years of age. Despite being such a sweetheart and well-behaved, her previous owner no longer wanted her.  Like all animals, she deserves someone who will remain committed to her for her whole life. Missy is ready for adoption today in Nevada SPCA's Lovebug Room.

Can I be your baby girl?

Update: Yvette was adopted on December 21st! Yvette is an adorably baby bunny ("kit") awaiting a loving, forever home. She is a Dwarf mix, spayed, approximately 7 months of age. Yvette has a gentle spirit and she is curious about her surroundings.  She likes tender affection and stretches upward to your hand for soft ear rubs. We rescued her from the streets, where she did not stand a chance to survive on her own.  The dangers outdoors to rabbits are immense, from starvation to predators (including coyotes and birds of prey) to vehicles. Please meet and adopt Yvette in Nevada SPCA's new Lovebugs Room.

I am a princess in the form of a Lionhead bunny.

When we rescued this angel from another shelter, one of our staff noted that she looks like royalty, especially with her leonine appearance and graceful movements. This observation inspired the name we selected for her, Swan Lake , which is the ballet with music composed by Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is a Lionhead rabbit, spayed, about 18 months young. She enjoys people, but has a bit of the diva personality when we clean her bunny condo or we are too slow to get her daily greens to her.  But mostly she has a care-free, confident demeanor and we know she will make a loving, lifelong companion for you. Please be sure to set aside time for brushing and grooming, at least weekly, to keep Swan Lake's longer coat and mane in good condition. Ask for this sweetheart by name when you visit Nevada SPCA's new Lovebugs Room, which showcases rescued bunnies, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and other small animals for adoption.

I am finding that people can be kind and fun.

We are very proud of Cagney's progress since joining us a few months ago. He is a very handsome Mini Rex rabbit with stunning coloring, neutered male, about 2 years young. Initially, he wanted nothing to do with people, and tried to nip at us when we approached him. But now he anticipates affection from those he trusts with a warm heart, and enjoys climbing and exploring in The Cottontail Cottage play area. Cagney's improvements will need to continue in his new home, so adults only are still required to err on the safe side for bite prevention. Please visit our new Lovebugs room and ask for Cagney by name.  He is one of almost 90 rescued, spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption today.

We are social animals, so having a soul-mate is priceless.

Update: Hank & Talulah were adopted on October 8th! We try every day to dispel the myth of the lone rabbit who wants to live alone in a small cage. Most bunnies are very social and do best with a life partner, including Hank & Tallulah . At the time of their rescues, Hank was living in a car in the sweltering heat, and Tallulah was at another shelter. After their rescues, their foster mom carefully bonded them together after they were spayed and neutered, and they took to each other instantly. We often find them now cuddled up together. Both are about 2 years young. Hank is a Rex, neutered male, and Tallulah is a Dutch & Harlequin mix spayed female. Beyond their strong bond for one another, this friendly pair has plenty of love to share with you too. Please visit and ask for them today in our new Lovebugs Room for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters.

I was stuffed inside a suitcase, but had nowhere to go.

Update: Ping was adopted on August 21st! Ping , a baby guinea pig, was one of four guinea pigs we rescued after their previous owner zipped them in a suitcase and abandoned them in our lobby. He is a zippy boy who enjoys running and jumping around his cage/habitat. Ping has soft, wired hair and he is approximately 9 months of age. He is friendly and has responded beautifully to socialization from our staff and volunteers. Please visit our new Lovebugs adoption room and ask for Ping by name.
