Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Freddy , 16, relishes attention and purrs heartily when you gently scratch his chin.  He is a Himalayan & Persian mix, neutered boy, fine with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Freddy from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown.  Please share his picture to help find him a hero.

Lady MacBeth relishes being pampered and reassured.  Loving attention now for her is in stark contrast to what she has endured. At the time of rescue her right eye was terribly maimed, her left ear had collapsed, many of her teeth were missing, and she had been declawed.  Lady MacBeth though is a survivor, and she is recovering well. Her right eye could not be saved and her left ear will not return to normal shape. But her spirits are brightening and we want her to have a lifetime of great love and comfort.  Lady MacBeth is a Himalayan cat, about 9 years of age, spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Matthew was adopted on November 1st! Who can resist his charming, bright eyes?  They plead for affection, attention, and understanding. Matthew is a handsome, distinguished Himalayan feline who needed us when his previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure.  He is neutered, about 3 years young, and previously declawed. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping cats safely indoors only, where they can be loved and protected.  Particularly for Matthew , without his claws he has few defenses for the many dangers that would await him outdoors. Matthew needs brushing, at least weekly, so please plan accordingly.  He is fine with most cats and very friendly with people. Please meet and adopt him in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

Update: Ava was adopted on October 28th! We have mixed stories on why Ava lost her previous home.  One account was that mom's new boyfriend did not like cats, while another account was that the owner did not want to pay a pet security deposit to the apartment complex. Innocently impacted by all of this was beautiful, petite Ava , a humble Himalayan mix who just wants to love and appreciation. Ava is eager to begin a new life with a person or couple or family committed to keeping her forever.  She is spayed, about 3-4 years of age, and available for adoption in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.  Please ask for her by name when you visit. Like all cats, Ava needs to be indoors only for her safety and protection.  Please only adopt if you are willing and able to keep her inside your home at all times.

Update: Anna was adopted on June 3rd! With radiant blue eyes and a very loving nature, we find Anna irresistible! She is a gorgeous Himalayan & Ragdoll mix, spayed female, 2 years young. Anna will do best in a home as a lap cat. She enjoys snuggling in your lap and curling up in your arms for a purr-fest. Anna's four kittens also survived their abandonment. They were stuffed in an worn-out box with her and thrown away in an industrial area. Fortunately, one of our staff happened to find them before they died of starvation or dehydration. Anna's kittens are in foster care. They will be available for adoption too once they have completed their series of booster vaccines and become old enough that we can spay/neuter them. Zeppelin is a very social, fun-loving rabbit with a mousy appearance. He is quite unique, most likely a mixture of at least three bunny breeds: Holland Mini Lop, Dwarf, and Himalayan. Zeppelin is neutered, about one year young, and ready for adoption today. He needed us because his owner said a family member was allergic to him. Zeppelin is one of more than 60 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits awaiting forever homes at Nevada SPCA. Please ask for this sweet, small boy by name.

Lady Diana loves relaxing and stretching out on soft blankets. Whether she lives primarily in a hutch (indoors, of course) or a condo-style cage (like those used by the rescued bunnies at Nevada SPCA), please ensure she has time each day to cozy up in her special blanket. Lady Diana is a Himalayan rabbit, spayed female, about 2 years young. She is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She has an even-tempered personality and a gentle spirit. Nevada SPCA has more than 60 rescued, spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption today.

Newman is a confident, curious young boy who adores attention. He is a Netherlands Dwarf & Himalayan mix rabbit, mostly white with some beautiful lavender coloring, neutered and approximately 10 months of age. Newman was reportedly sold at a swap meet to a person who purchased him on impulse without researching bunnies or their care. Part of a racket to make a quick buck, rabbits and ducklings and turtles and other animals exchanged at swap meets are in grave danger of meeting violent ends, perhaps becoming food for snakes, or worse. Newman is a sentient being with a life of his own. He has survived this ordeal and must never again face such reckless treatment. Please only consider him (and any other domesticated animal) if you are willing and able to make a lifetime commitment to him joining your family.

Madeline reliably greets us with a hop and nuzzling affection when we first visit with her each day. She is an exotic beauty, perhaps a mixture of Himalayan, Dwarf, and Satin rabbit breeds. She is approximately two years young. Madeline is now spayed and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She enjoys petting and she has a relatively outgoing nature, but being held makes her quite anxious. We believe this is because she was handled improperly in her previous home.
