Washington and Hercules

Image
Washington is 1 of 12 rescued kittens ready for adoption today. Tomorrow (Saturday), at 10am, 40 more rescued kittens will be ready for adoption too at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org)! Washington carefully investigates each room, taking special note of the locations of hiding places, play areas, and ledges for naps.    Since his rescue (found in a family's backyard without his mother), he has been lovingly raised in a foster home with cats and older kids. Washington is 3 months of age and neutered.   Hercules is one of Washington's siblings and he too is ready for adoption.  Hercules enjoys talking with you, answering each question with a meow he wants you to understand.  He is a good listener too and likes hearing your voice.

Adonis, Hercules, and Siri

Image
Adonis, baby boy Hercules, baby boy Siri, baby girl Adonis , Hercules , and Siri , and their mother, Athena , were found left behind in an abandoned house. Since their rescue, they have been cared for in a loving foster home. The babies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Mom, Athena , a small Heinz 57 with Sighthound & Spaniel, will be ready for adoption too in the days to come. Their father is unknown. All three puppies are very playful and well-socialized. Their foster parent says that Adonis is the aquatic one and relishes splashing in water, Hercules is athletic and outgoing, and Siri is the most bashful and affectionate.

Surrogate parents are heroes saving fragile lives desperate for kindness.

Tender loving care from nurturing foster parents is the only hope for motherless newborns and others with a fragile hold on life.  We feel blessed to have so many volunteers and staff willing to care for these babies, even waking up in the middle of the night to ensure they are fed every three hours.  More people are needed to help as motherless newborns continue to be rescued throughout the spring and summer, so please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Lonnie if you would like to learn more about becoming a foster parent. Hercules , pictured here, is 3 weeks of age, being bottle-fed by Joellyn. More about fostering. Wish List supplies for newborns and others.

The Seven Wonders Puppies debuting for adoption today!

Image
Aladdin, baby boy Ariel, baby girl Figaro, baby boy Flora, baby girl Hera, baby girl Hercules, baby boy Marian, baby girl " The Seven Wonders Puppies " are playful, but camera-shy babies debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue they were just 5 weeks of age, with no mom in sight, and their previous owner was trying to hand them away to strangers in front of a grocery store.  We placed the babies in loving foster homes for nurturing care and all survived.  Three are boys and four are girls, and all are now spayed/neutered and approximately 3 months of age.  Our best guess at this time is that one of their parents was likely a Chihuahua and the other a medium-size dog of blended breeds, making them wonderfully unique.
