Hank

Hank has made an incredible recovery from starvation. Now, after 5 months of healing and building energey, he is spirited, athletic, and in terrific physical condition. In January, he was found emaciated and skeletal in an abandoned home. His previous owners reportedly moved away and left him inside. A neighbor discovered Hank inside and rushed him to us for emergency care. Hank is a handsome Miniature Pinscher mix, 1 year of age, housetrained, good with dogs (if fed meals and treats separately), now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

The Fairy Tale Puppies debut for adoption today!

Hank, baby boy. Juliette, baby girl. Monroe, baby boy. Nick, baby boy. Rosalee, baby girl. These five angelic and playful babies debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Juliette and Rosalee are girls.  Hank , Monroe , and Nick are boys. Their foster mom lovingly nicknamed them "The Fairy Tale Puppies" because she named them after TV show characters (Grimm show). Adaline , their mother, and her puppies were rescued when they were just 10 days old.  Their previous owner moved away without them.  We immediately placed them in nurturing foster care so that Adaline could raise them in a comfortable home environment.  The puppies have also been socialized with cats and rabbits. The Fairy Tale Puppies are now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Adaline is a Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier mix.  She is pictured below.  Adaline was spayed and adopted earli...

Is there something wrong with me?

Update: Hank was adopted on November 5th! Hank must be confused why few, if any, visitors ask to meet him and consider him for adoption. He is a humble, unassuming, calm boy with a gentle spirit.   He has enormous love to share and he is compatible with other friendly dogs. Hank is a blond and white Chihuahua, neutered, approximately 4 years of age.  He has been available for adoption since July, so we are quite surprised that he continues to be overlooked.  He is a favorite with our volunteers. We rescued Hank from another shelter that had run out of space to keep him. If you seek a loyal, lifelong companion with a tender heart, please give Hank consideration. Special thanks to the amazing people at Pet'ographique for this portrait to help him find a new home.

We are social animals, so having a soul-mate is priceless.

Update: Hank & Talulah were adopted on October 8th! We try every day to dispel the myth of the lone rabbit who wants to live alone in a small cage. Most bunnies are very social and do best with a life partner, including Hank & Tallulah . At the time of their rescues, Hank was living in a car in the sweltering heat, and Tallulah was at another shelter. After their rescues, their foster mom carefully bonded them together after they were spayed and neutered, and they took to each other instantly. We often find them now cuddled up together. Both are about 2 years young. Hank is a Rex, neutered male, and Tallulah is a Dutch & Harlequin mix spayed female. Beyond their strong bond for one another, this friendly pair has plenty of love to share with you too. Please visit and ask for them today in our new Lovebugs Room for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters.

I dazzle and sparkle brilliantly in the spotlight.

Update: Hank was adopted on October 26th! Hank is a spritely youngster, full of pizzazz, who loves to be the center of attention. He is an exceptionally cute Miniature Schnauzer, neutered, and approximately 3 years of age. Besides being compatible with other dogs, he is reportedly fine with mature, kind teenagers. Hank needs professional grooming a few times each year, so please budget and plan accordingly. His ideal new owner/guardian will have Schnauzer knowledge and/or experience. Hank reportedly lost his home due to barking, chewing, and lack of housetraining. However, it appeared he was confined to a single room during the day without access to a doggie door or crate. Therefore, Hank will need your patience and good guidance on all three fronts (more security during periods of isolation, re-direct his natural chewing instincts onto proper toys & treats, and provide a regular lifestyle routine he can count on). Please only consider him if you are 100% committed to providin...
