Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Easton Weston Easton and Weston , brothers, are vibrant junior puppies with fun-loving personalities and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Easton and Weston are Australian Shepherd & Golden Retriever mixes, almost 7 months of age, good with other dogs, and now neutered. Their previous owners surrendered Easton because he was limping, but intended to sell or breed Weston . We convinced them to surrender both so we could get them neutered and ensure they do not further contribute to the animal overpopulation crisis in southern Nevada.    Easton's front left leg was broken months ago (from massive unknown trauma). Since they did not provide veterinary care for him, his leg bone healed incorrectly. (He walks on all four legs, but about 25% of the time chooses not to put weight on the leg.) Butterfly Kisses is named for her most gentle of temperaments and her need for a fresh new start in life.  She is a lovely Golden & Yellow Labrador Retriever mix, spayed girl, about 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Butterfly Kisses was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her severe neglect.  She was filthy, with signs of improper nutrition, and the only thing certain known about her past was that she was confiscated by police from her previous household.  Please help us find a hero for Butterfly Kisses , someone who will show her what it feels like to be cherished and comfortable and pampered in a loving, forever home.

Fun-loving and jubilant, Shadow glows with kindness and good cheer.  He is a sunny blend of Golden Retriever & Yellow Labrador Retriever, just one year of age, neutered, full of love for people and dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Shadow from another shelter.  He was surrendered there with a severe eye infection and entropia.  We treated his eye and had his entropia repaired at a veterinary clinic, and he has made a beautiful recovery.

Tomas is a lustrous boy who glows with kindness and goodwill. He is a very attractive blend of Golden Retriever & Chow Chow and he is neutered and about 4 years of age.  Tomas is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and good with dogs and mature kids. Though shy with strangers, Tomas is warm-hearted with those he knows and trusts. He needed us when his previous owners lost the family home to foreclosure. Please come meet Tomas !

Update: Gypsy was adopted on February 11th! Feeling so lost, and that there must be some mistake with her becoming homeless, Gypsy cries and whines, her heart badly broken. Unfortunately, there was no mistake.  Without explanation, her previous owner surrendered her to a government-funded shelter.  When space ran out, we rescued her from there and brought her into the safety of Nevada SPCA. Gypsy does not yet feel safe, but we are working hard to reassure her that her future will be bright and her days of fear can be over. Gypsy is a lovely Golden Retriever mix, spayed girl, 4 years of age.  She has an independent nature, at least at the moment, but undoubtedly a heart of gold too.   She is fine with most sweet dogs. Please adopt her and show her that humans can make lifetime commitments to those they love and who need them.

Update: Brandy was adopted on August 24th! Brandy is a devoted girl with a heart of gold. Though shy with new people, she warms up quickly. Brandy is a beautiful medium size Golden Retriever mix, spayed, about 6 years of age. She is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and fine with gentle children. Brandy reportedly enjoys male dogs, but she is not compatible with female dogs (and this is why she lost her home). Brandy debuts for adoption today.

Update: Ginger was adopted on July 30th! Ginger needed rescue when her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. She is a very loving, affectionate girl who likes to lean on you for extra adoration. Ginger is a gorgeous Golden Retriever with a red-tinted coat, spayed female, about 5 years of age. Besides being compatible with other dogs, she reportedly enjoys mature children. Ginger debuts for adoption today.

Update: Gypsy was adopted on February 5th! Gypsy's heart of gold is buried beneath a very bashful exterior. Even to take this portrait she was terrified, her eyes darting to the floor, hoping we would just put her back in her kennel. Gypsy's awakening to loving care, and the blooming of her personality, will require the nurturing, gentle touch of a tender person (or couple). She had apparently given up on humans years ago. And no wonder, they just used her for breeding and denied her even basic socialization. Gypsy's path to adjusting and trusting though may be greatly aided by another dog, a 'big brother' or 'big sister' to help guide her in her new home. There are no instant fixes for Gypsy, but for those who enjoy nurturing a delicate soul to self-esteem, her potential is tremendous. Gypsy debuts for adoption today.

Update: Sampson was adopted on January 15th! Sampson likes to shake paws with you to win your attention. He is a very handsome, cheery boy with a loving personality. Sampson is a Golden Retriever with a red-tinted coat. He is neutered, about 4 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. He is picky with other dogs he likes, but he is reportedly compatible with cats and children. Sampson would love to go home with Jericho, his best friend who also debuts for adoption today, but this is not required. Sampson is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. He reportedly likes to try and sneak food off of tables and counters when you are not looking. Sampson needed us because of his "owner's lifestyle change."

Update: Sophie was adopted on December 26th! Cheery and noble, Sophie is a bright burst of sunshine. She is a gorgeous Golden Retriever, spayed female, about one year of age. Sophie is well-behaved too, reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, along with being compatible with children, cats, and dogs. She reportedly enjoys playing fetch and cuddling. Sophie needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Flower was adopted on December 14th! Flower is a very loving puppy, full of grace and good cheer, with a beaming, sunny personality. She is a beautiful Golden Retriever mix, spayed, about 6 months of age. Flower enjoys other sweet dogs, but it is very important they do not jump on her. At the time of rescue she had a severely broken back leg, reportedly due to falling out of the bathtub. In addition, she had been exposed to the parvo virus and needed emergency care for survival. Flower required an advanced repair (FHO surgery) or she would lose her leg. This was provided to her, along with her treatment for parvo, thanks to the exceptional generosity of one of Nevada SPCA's supporters. Flower's leg repair was a success and she recovered fully from parvo. She has weekly therapy sessions (for rehabilitation) and in time she is expected to walk and run almost normally. Her owner will need to take all reasonable precautions to help her avoid re-aggravating her leg. F...

Update: Marla was adopted on November 12th! Marla's sunny disposition just makes her that much more gorgeous and angelic. She is a Golden Retriever puppy, spayed, approximately 5 months of age. The circumstances of Marla's need for rescue are fuzzy, frankly, but we know she was born in a dreaded puppy mill for a quick buck. Thankfully, Marla is now with us, and rather than seeking financial profit in a sale, her adoption will be based on her own best interests for a loving, forever home.
