Three adorable baby bunny sisters for adoption!

Image
Brittania Denmark Holland These three adorable baby girls -- Brittania , Denmark , and Holland -- adore each other and people and they delight in their daily exercise time and salad greens. They are sisters, Dutch rabbit mixes, 7 months young, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please consider adopting the trio for lifelong companionship -- they do beautifully together. You can ask for the girls by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

Blue-eyed Baby Boys

Dartmouth Bowie Dartmouth and Bowie are social, friendly, cute baby boys ("kits") who would love a forever home where they are showered with attention and loving care. They appear to be combinations of multiple breeds, including Hot Tot & New Zealand & Dutch.  They are neutered, about 5-6 months of age. At the time of rescue these two boys and 8 other bunnies had been stuffed inside a small bird cage and abandoned.  Fortunately, all 10 rabbits survived. Dartmouth and Bowie can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong companionship and love.

I will thrive in a gentle home environment.

Amity needed us when her previous owner became homeless. Amity is a very pretty rabbit, a Dutch and English Spot mix, spayed, about 5 years of age, and she is available for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. She is a sensitive girl, used to a mellow lifestyle.  While she is friendly and calm-natured, she is terrified of being picked up.  Many bunnies prefer to spend time with you on the floor, rather than be up in the air, so this is not uncommon. Amity is especially enthusiastic for kale and her daily salads of greens and veggies, plus Timothy hay is a necessary favorite too. She is one of 90 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

We were jumping for joy after we were rescued.

Maggie and Hedy Before dawn one morning a few weeks ago, our security guard found a small parakeet cage by our front door, completely stuffed full with 10 baby bunnies ("kits").  They were jammed in so tight, on top of one another, they could barely even wiggle. We were so worried the ones at the bottom had been crushed, but they somehow escaped injury.  All 10 -- 5 girls and 5 boys -- survived.  As soon as we set them up in bunny condos, they were ecstatically munching Timothy Hay and fresh veggies and drinking fresh water in obvious delight, jumping and racing about in joy and relief. Our best guess, based on the reckless cruelty of their abandonment, and the fact that some were New Zealand Whites, was that they were being raised for food, either for people or snakes.  (Sometimes friends and family members of owners who eat rabbits will rescue them and bring them to us.) Maggie and Hedy are two of the girls who are now spayed and ready for adoption into ...

Will I be in a loving home for my first Christmas?

Fitzwilliam is an irresistible baby bunny with a fun-loving personality. Full of energy, he loves doing "the Bunny 500" -- an affectionate term for the running and jumping of a happy, dancing rabbit.  Fitzwilliam is a very attractive Dutch mix, neutered boy, about 6 months of age.  We rescued him from another shelter along with his six siblings. Please ask for him by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.  He is ready for adoption into a forever home today.

Being together keeps our outlook sunny and colorful.

Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn Update: Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn were adopted on November 24th! Staff and volunteers were so impressed with this classically attractive and sweet pair that they selected Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn for their names to emphasize their powerful lifelong bond. They are Dutch rabbits with stunning coloring, spayed/neutered, and approximately 5 years of age. Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn enjoy relaxing in their deluxe-size condo or playing together in a bunny-safe enclosure.  (Our staff can talk with you about making sturdy enclosures that give them freedom each day, indoors-only of course, and keep them away from electrical cords.) The pair needed us when their previous owner moved away without them. Please visit Nevada SPCA's new Lovebugs Room and ask for these two by name.

We are social animals, so having a soul-mate is priceless.

Update: Hank & Talulah were adopted on October 8th! We try every day to dispel the myth of the lone rabbit who wants to live alone in a small cage. Most bunnies are very social and do best with a life partner, including Hank & Tallulah . At the time of their rescues, Hank was living in a car in the sweltering heat, and Tallulah was at another shelter. After their rescues, their foster mom carefully bonded them together after they were spayed and neutered, and they took to each other instantly. We often find them now cuddled up together. Both are about 2 years young. Hank is a Rex, neutered male, and Tallulah is a Dutch & Harlequin mix spayed female. Beyond their strong bond for one another, this friendly pair has plenty of love to share with you too. Please visit and ask for them today in our new Lovebugs Room for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters.

How do we know who we can trust?

Update: Dixie & Bonnie Blue were adopted on July 12th! Dixie & Bonnie Blue are mother and daughter, very strongly bonded, and need to remain together forever. One of our staff rescued them from a park where they were trying to survive on their own. (Domesticated rabbits abandoned outdoors usually quickly succumb to predation, starvation, dehydration, injury, or disease, or get struck and killed by vehicles.) The girls are beautiful Dutch rabbits with startling blue eyes. Dixie is approximately 3 years of age and Bonnie Blue is about 2 years young. We had Dixie and Bonnie Blue spayed and they are ready for adoption, along with almost 70 other rescued bunnies. They require an experienced home due to their timidity, but in time the girls will continue to warm up with gentle people. Like us all, they are indeed a work in progress.

I want to belong to a person or family who will love me.

Update: Annabelle Lee was adopted on October 24th! Annabelle Lee has the majestic confidence of a lion. This baby rabbit is outgoing, very friendly, and sure-footed. She enjoys people and goes after her daily salad greens with gusto. Annabelle Lee is a Dutch mix bunny, about 4 months of age. She is spayed and ready for adoption today. She needed rescue because she had been abandoned outdoors, where she had no chance of survival on her own. We believe Annabelle Lee would make a wonderful little sister for another spayed female bunny. Please let us know if you would like to set up a 'bunny date' so your rabbit can meet her in a neutral setting to ensure they are a lifetime match.

How can people throw away babies like me?

Update: Beaumont was adopted on October 24th! Beaumont is a very attractive rabbit with a curious, friendly nature to match. He is a Dutch mix with brown, grey-blue, and white. He is still a "kit" (a baby bunny), at 4-5 months of age. Beaumont was found by a caring person on an undeveloped tract of land. His chance of survival there on his own was 0%. Beaumont is now neutered and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please feel free to ask for him by name. Nevada SPCA has 70 spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption of all ages and sizes. The most important thing though is temperament and lifestyle, so please let the adoption counselors know what personality you prefer and they can introduce you to rabbits who may be a great match for you and your family. All of the adoptable bunnies need indoor lifestyles for their safety and comfort.

I want what you want: comfort, love, good food, clean water, shelter, and safety.

Update: Tanner was adopted on August 18th! Tanner is one of the rabbits we caught a backyard breeder trying to sell before Easter. The conditions were horrendous for the bunnies. The parents had allegedly turned all of the care and cleaning over to a pre-teen child, giving her adult responsibilities which were completely inappropriate to delegate to such a young kid. With us, Tanner has been blooming beautifully. He is now a very social bunny and enjoys human contact. He also has impeccable litter box skills and likes to keep his living areas tidy. Tanner is a Dutch & Dwarf mix, approximately one year young. We had him neutered and he is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. In our extreme desert climate in southern Nevada, indoor-only living is a necessity for domesticated rabbits. Veterinarians who specialize in bunny care emphasize that rabbits prefer cool temperatures and should never be subjected to heat beyond 85 or 90 degrees. Tanner is one of more than 70 spayed/ne...
