Dakota is happy with every child, adult, dog, puppy, kitten, and cat he meets! He glows with kindness and wants everyone around him to be happy too. Dakota is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, 5 years of age, neutered boy, housetrained, playful, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He needed us because his previous owners' cat was attacking him.    Please visit and ask for Dakota by name.

Dakota , so loyal to those he loves, is broken-hearted from the death of his previous owner. He longs for a new sense of purpose, someone new to devote himself to and adore. Dakota is a very attractive Carolina Dog, 2 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He is housetrained & crate-trained and compatible with other friendly dogs his size (medium-size) and larger (but small dogs unknown).    Please visit and ask for Dakota by name.

Dakota -- Before & After

Image
Dakota dances to win your attention and approval.  She is a precious Toy Poodle, 1 year young, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Dakota enjoys other dogs.  At the time of rescue she startled a woman by walking into her office building in a commercial district, in deplorable condition, with no sign of responsible ownership.  Thank you very much to Hair of the Dog spa , which so beautifully cleaned and groomed her.  Please help us find a home where she will be treasured, never to know neglect again.

Can you see my potential?

Dakota is a bright young boy with enormous loving potential.  He is very shy with strangers and worried he will get yelled at or scorned.  But this morning we talked to him quietly and told him that if he smiles for his picture that he will soon be in a terrific and gentle new home.  Dakota is 1 year of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a gold, blond & white Heinz 57 -- a unique blend of many breeds -- ready to give his whole heart to someone kind who will provide him with a stable, lifelong home.

Please do me the honor of coming to meet me.

Dakota is a jolly boy who truly brightens every room he enters with his sunny nature.  He is a medium-size Siberian Husky & Shepherd mix, about 8 years of age, neutered, and available for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Dakota is great with other dogs and reportedly housetrained and compatible with children and cats too.  He is blind in his right eye (old injury).  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this handsome portrait to help him find a loving, forever home.

Let me bring my sunshine into your life.

Dakota's jolly personality is incredibly appealing and we think he brightens every room he enters with his sunny nature.  Dakota is blond, plump Siberian Husky & Shepherd mix, about 8 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is reportedly housetrained and compatible with children, cats, and dogs.  Dakota is blind in his right eye, due to an old injury.  He needed us because a member of his previous family thought she was allergic to him.

Keep us together forever, please.

Cheyenne & Dakota Cheyenne Dakota Cheyenne & Dakota are tiny lovebugs and soul-mates awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA ( www.nevadaspca.org ). They are teacup Chihuahuas, girl and boy, spayed/neutered, 7-8 years of age, and fine with other dogs.  They are also reportedly housetrained (with pee pads).  Cheyenne & Dakota adore adults, but since Cheyenne can get grumpy, they require an adult-only home. Strongly bonded, they need to remain together forever.  Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for them by name. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these fun, amazing portraits.

I love to play with tennis balls.

Update: Dakota was adopted on January 22nd! Dakota is a very sweet, shy boy, warm-hearted with those he knows and trusts. He is a Boston Terrier with striking liver and white coloring.  He is neutered, about 7 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. Besides being compatible with other friendly dogs, Dakota is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and fine with cats and mature kids. He needed us when his previous owner moved without him. Boston Terrier knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for his adoption.

I am endearing and young at heart and I would love a new home.

Update: Dakota was adopted on November 12th! It would be a big mistake to overlook this noble girl just because of her age (7 years). Dakota is happy-go-lucky, very chipper, and she is blessed with a wonderful disposition. Dakota is a Labrador Retriever, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued her from a government shelter that had run out of space for her.  So while background information is limited, it is clear she adores people and friendly dogs. Please visit and ask for Dakota by name.  If you have another dog (or dogs), please bring him or her so they can meet her too in our adoption courtyard.

Will my future be full of love?

Dakota is a baby guinea pig ready now for adoption in our new Lovebugs room (for the adoption of rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters). Her mother and father, Dallas and Boston , respectively, were surrendered to us many weeks ago by a family who did not want to deal with Dallas 's pregnancy. They somehow seemed surprised that keeping an adult female and male guinea pig together would result in a pregnancy. Dallas gave birth to three babies: Austin, Cheyenne, and Dakota . The father ( Boston ) was the first to be adopted, then Dallas and her daughter Cheyenne were adopted together. Now it's Dakota 's turn to find a loving, forever home. She is an American and Abyssinian mix, about 4 weeks of age, very friendly, and enthusiastic for her daily greens and Timothy Hay. Her brother Austin is also available for adoption. But they cannot go home together because we do not want to encourage any further breeding of guinea pigs in the community. Please visit Nevada S...

I love children.

Update: Dakota was adopted on August 19th! Dakota's kindness is readily evident just by looking in her soulful eyes. She is a well behaved, gorgeous girl with an angelic nature. Dakota is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, spayed, almost 6 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Besides other medium and large dogs, she is reportedly compatible with cats. Her previous owner said she likes to try and pick up small dogs with her mouth, but not hurt them, nevertheless it frightens them. She also reportedly travels well and enjoys playing ball. Dakota needed us when her previous owner down-sized from a house to an apartment.

I love kind children.

Update: Dakota was adopted on July 25th! Dakota is a gorgeous Chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy, full of pizzazz. She has a jubilant, affectionate nature, and she is eager to please. Dakota is spayed and approximately 10 months of age. She is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. Her record with other dogs is mixed. She reportedly is great with other larger dogs, but too rough with smaller ones. The reason she lost her home was due to incompatibility with a small, senior dog. Dakota adores mature children and she is used to being around kids 10 years and older. As with all dogs in our extreme desert climate in southern Nevada, Dakota needs to live primarily indoors so that she will be safe from extreme heat and able to live properly as a member of the family. There can be no hesitation with an adopter's willingness to permit dogs to live mainly indoors.
