Chi Chi, as cute as a baby fox.

Chi Chi has stolen our hearts!  She is dazzlingly sweet, playful, and engaging, with a light-hearted personality.  She is a petite, beautiful Shiba Inu, just 1 year of age, spayed, crate-trained, good with dogs and older kids, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Chi Chi needed us when her previous owner moved out of the country.

I pine for a quiet, mellow home.

Chi Chi's striking leonine appearance is enhanced by her deep orange eyes and her recent shaving (to remove knots). She is an independent, gentle Persian cat awaiting an adult-only home where she would get all of the attention. We believe she will do best as the only feline, though she may tolerate another quiet-natured and respectful cat too. Chi Chi is spayed, approximately 12 years of age, and front-feet declawed (done previously). Unfortunately, declawed cats seem to often get more nippy, and Chi Chi fits that pattern with her play-bites when she is overstimulated. (Note: This is why we do not like to have declawed cats get adopted into homes with toddlers or young children.) She needed us when the senior home she was in previously had to change living arrangements. Please plan on weekly brushing so that Chi Chi never again develops painful knots and tangles. Persian cat knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Mention her name when you visit ...

Can you please make time to love me and care for me?

Update: Chi Chi was adopted on September 19th! Chi Chi is a snugglebug puppy with enormous charm. She is an apricot Toy or Miniature Poodle, spayed, 9 months young. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Chi Chi is reportedly good with other dogs and kind, older children. She reportedly knows how to use a doggie door, but we are not clear on whether she is fully housetrained yet. Your patience and a stable routine may be needed on this front. Please also plan for regular grooming for Chi Chi and budget extra accordingly. Chi Chi needed rescue because her owners said they did not have enough time for her. Puppies require enormous attention and careful puppy-proofing of the home.

I need to be able to trust you.

Update: Chi Chi was adopted on June 27th! Chi Chi's expressive eyes carefully evaluate new people as she sizes them up for kindness and tries to determine their intentions. We sadly suspect she learned the hard way that you cannot always trust people. We rescued her from a local shelter. Her previous owner had put her on the ultimate deadline there, rather than keeping the family intact and taking her with them to their new home out of state. But this is Chi Chi's golden opportunity to find a very loving, very committed, and very gentle home so that she can stop worrying about being hit or screamed at. Chi Chi enjoys other dogs and she needs regular grooming care. She is a Terrier mix, spayed female, approximately 5 years young. Today, she is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.
