Austin

Austin howls and cries when he is lonely. He is a social boy and beams when you praise him or sit close to him.    Austin is a Chocolate Doberman Pinscher, 8 years of age and neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Austin was found in horrific condition on the streets by a kind woman. Besides extreme obesity, the food he was eating was not nutritious, resulting in hair loss, dry skin, and itching. All attempts to trace his microchip ID to a previous owner were unsuccessful. At the shelter, Austin is now eating premium food and he is on thyroid medication and improving a bit more each day.    Please share his picture to help him find a hero so he will never be neglected so terribly again.

Austin was at another shelter after being found on the streets with a broken hind leg.  We rescued him and took him to a veterinary hospital.  Because of the location and severity of the break, Austin's leg could not be saved.  But Austin is adjusting very well to life on three legs and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Austin is an exceptionally sweet and loving West Highland White Terrier mix, 1 year young, neutered boy, and he loves gentle people and dogs.

Will you let me bring you happiness?

Austin is a chipper, very agreeable boy who is ready to glide into your life and share his unconditional love.  He is a small, cute Cocker Spaniel mix, about 9 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Austin loves people and other dogs.  He needed us when his previous owner passed away.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this cute portrait to help Austin score a loving, forever home.

Will my future be full of love?

Dakota is a baby guinea pig ready now for adoption in our new Lovebugs room (for the adoption of rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters). Her mother and father, Dallas and Boston , respectively, were surrendered to us many weeks ago by a family who did not want to deal with Dallas 's pregnancy. They somehow seemed surprised that keeping an adult female and male guinea pig together would result in a pregnancy. Dallas gave birth to three babies: Austin, Cheyenne, and Dakota . The father ( Boston ) was the first to be adopted, then Dallas and her daughter Cheyenne were adopted together. Now it's Dakota 's turn to find a loving, forever home. She is an American and Abyssinian mix, about 4 weeks of age, very friendly, and enthusiastic for her daily greens and Timothy Hay. Her brother Austin is also available for adoption. But they cannot go home together because we do not want to encourage any further breeding of guinea pigs in the community. Please visit Nevada S...

What does the future hold for us?

Update 3: Christie and Dallas were adopted on August 18th! Update 2: Austin and Lone Star were adopted on August 17th! Update 1: Amarillo and Houston were adopted on August 15th! Amarillo & Christie are brother and sister, and along with four other siblings (Austin, Dallas, Houston, & Lone Star) make up "The Lone Star Puppies". They are Dachshund mixes, approximately 3 months of age. Each has been spayed/neutered and they are debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. The puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship. They do so well together and adore each others' company. We rescued the puppies weeks ago from owners who said they were an "oops" litter. In other words, they had failed to spay their dog and she, not surprisingly, became pregnant. We took the puppies on the condition that they spay momma. If you need to spay/neuter your companion animals, please call us at 873-SPCA (7722) and we wil...
