Madison

Image
Madison likes building ever-stronger relationships with people based on time, respect, and trust.  He is a boy with remarkable teddy bear-like good looks, an Akita mix, 4 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Madison needs a home where he is the only animal.  A semi-active lifestyle appears to be what he prefers, with plenty of soft bedding for his naps and resting.

Kincho

Kincho , baby-faced at 8 years of age, has the radiant teddy bear who has come to life.  He is a handsome, very friendly Akita, and he is neutered, housetrained, good with older kids, playful with tennis balls, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Kincho may be compatible with dogs too (unconfirmed).  He needed us due to the declining health of his previous owner.

Oso, a rescued Akita debuting for adoption.

No longer in pain, it has been wonderful to watch Oso's playful and friendly spirit emerge.  He loves to stand or sit leaning into you for reassurance and bonding.  Oso is a handsome Akita, about 5 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue his right eye was severely bulging and in danger of bursting, causing him great distress.  Akita knowledge is strongly preferred for his adoption.  Please help us find a hero for Oso .

I would love to bring more joy into your life.

Drew loves people and he is a wonderful pleasure to be around. For a person, couple, or family without other companion animals, it is hard to find a bigger sweetheart than this exceptionally good-looking boy. Drew lost his previous family because he was incompatible with cats and sometimes grumpy with other dogs around food. But he is reportedly housetrained (with occasional accidents) and good with older, mature children. Drew is a Heinz 57, perhaps with Akita & Retriever, neutered, and about 6 years of age.

I am 9 years of age, but I have yet to ever know a loving home.

Update: Gizz Ann was adopted on March 27th! Though she has bounced back beautifully physically and emotionally, Gizz Ann's ears will always bear the scars from fly-bites and infections incurred in extremely filthy, neglectful conditions at her previous living environment. We plead with you to give consideration to this exceptionally sweet, very humble older girl. She has waited her whole life to ever know the paradise of belonging to someone who cherishes her daily. Gizz Ann is a big Teddy Bear, perhaps an Akita mix, with dark brindle coloring and soft eyes. She is spayed and about 9 years of age. She is compatible with most other dogs, especially those who will respect her and not jump on her. Gizz Ann has been at Nevada SPCA for many months, trying to patiently await her knight in shining armor. Please be her hero.

Please help me build confidence and I will shower you with a lifetime of devotion.

Update: Taro was adopted on January 8th! Taro is a handsome, smart youngster who we believe will make progress quickly in an experienced home committed to dog training. He is a medium-size, brindle Heinz 57, perhaps with Belgian Shepherd or Akita. He is neutered and 18 months of age. Taro is a loyal boy with tremendous potential. He has been the victim of abuse, so trusting people takes time and patience with an experienced dog owner/caretaker. We rescued Taro from another shelter. With training and renewed self-esteem, this young boy will bloom. He will reward you with a lifetime of unconditional love.

Please help me learn my proper role.

Update: Shiloh was adopted on September 14th! Shiloh is a gorgeous young girl who radiates joy. Her love for life is contagious and seeing her makes you want to smile. But she is loyal and protective to a fault. She needs an experienced owner who will help her learn that her "job" is to have fun and be a family companion, not to be a guard dog. We know Shiloh will thrive with basic dog obedience training. We have had her evaluated by a professional dog trainer who saw enormous potential in her, partially due to her intelligence and eagerness to please. Please only consider her if you are 100% committed to this training. It is extremely important that Shiloh re-orients her thinking on what role she is to have with her new owner and/or family. Shiloh is a medium-size Heinz 57, perhaps with Akita or Husky. She is a spayed female, approximately one year of age. Please help her realize her full loving potential.
