Velvet's beautiful recovery.

Velvet's nightmare is over and her future will be so full of love and adoration that it is beyond her comprehension.

Velvet was found in downtown Vegas in shockingly atrocious condition.  Besides extreme filth and matting and emaciation, her head was shaking in pain from a severe ear infection and her left eye was missing.

Now cleaned, groomed, medicated, eating premium food, and comforted by volunteers, she is recovering beautifully.

Velvet is a gentle Lhasa-Poo, 3 years of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Please help find Velvet a hero who will ensure she never knows disregard or cruelty again.

Your kindness means the world to me.

At the time of rescue Quentin was inexplicably living in a tiny bird cage and was "unwanted".

So he is beside himself with the spaciousness of his bunny condo and overjoyed for his daily salad greens & veggies.

In a home environment you can give him even more space and freedom, indoors only, using baby gates to keep him from electrical cords and stairways and other dangers.

Quentin is a friendly, enthusiastic Marten mix bunny, 1 year of age, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for spotlighting Quentin in these handsome portraits to help him find a responsible, loving forever home.

Will you help us reach our full loving potential?

Landon, baby boy.

Natalie, baby girl.
Landon and Natalie are tiny babies who need heroes to help them become well-adjusted, well-balanced adults.

They were among three undomesticated Chihuahua puppies rescued in January (in either an extremely neglectful home or to a mother who had no home).

We placed the trio in a loving foster home where they have been socialized with other small dogs.

The foster parents adopted one of the boys, but Landon and Natalie need forever homes, ideally with big brother or sister dogs to help them continue to adjust.

Landon and Natalie are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.

It's not too late for Destiny.

Destiny needs a hero.  Please help find her someone gentle for her twilight years.

Destiny is 14 years of age.  She was surrendered to us in unacceptable condition (reportedly due to something about a family member moving away without her).

Destiny is a Husky with a calm, humble countenance, reportedly compatible with other medium and large-size dogs, plus housetrained too.

Based on a comment made about "mean people", we suspect she witnessed and experienced domestic violence directed at herself or those she loved.

At long last, we want Destiny to know peace and dignity and respect.

Chili and her adult daughters need heroes.

Chili, the mother

Chili, 14, is believed to be the mother of three adult daughters named Cinnamon, Fuzzi, and Rosie, who are 8 years of age.

All of these girls are gentle Chihuahuas.  They are very strongly bonded, but not much else is known about their background (they were surrendered by a relative of their previous owner who had become incapacitated).

This is a difficult situation, but knowing that adopting four together is likely not reasonable, we need to adopt them out in pairs (and their adoption fees are discounted).

Please help us find heroes for Chili and her daughters.

Will you cherish us every day of our lives?

These playful babies -- Aramis, L'Oreal, and Versace -- have been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home with cats and small dogs since their rescue from the streets.

The kittens are now 4 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

L'Oreal is very gentle and loves cuddling at your side.  Her brother Aramis can spend hours chasing the laser light, while Versace most enjoys playing hide-and-seek in the kitten tubes.

Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.  They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship.

Duke and Jake, baby brothers ready for adoption.

Duke and Jake are baby brothers, about 6 months of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Since their rescue from the streets the boys have been lovingly raised in a foster home with cats and dogs.

The boys love to explore new rooms, but shake their bag of treats and they come sprinting back with enthusiasm.

Duke and Jake are terrific together and we prefer to adopt them as a pair for lifelong companionship.  Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.

Dodge not only survived a vicious stabbing, but he also still loves people.

Dodge's survival is miraculous, and the fact that he still loves humans is equally tremendous.

An officer found him repeatedly stabbed in the neck (knife wounds of 3-4 inches deep on the left side) and discarded to die on a Vegas street.

Dodge was taken to another shelter that in turn asked for our help.

He has now healed and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Dodge adores kind people and loves being touched, petted, hugged, and reassured.

He is just one year of age, a neutered boy, and now ready to bless someone wonderful with his unconditional love.

Duchess survived on her own at a campground for more than a year before her rescue.

Duchess was reportedly dumped in a campground.

For more than a year she refused to let people get close, but hovered in the distance hoping for some morsels of food.

Finally, Duchess befriended a very gentle elderly man and let herself be captured.  This man had her a short time before bringing her to us, teaching her housetraining and beginning her other adjustments to indoor living.

Duchess needs to continue blooming.  She is still very independent, strong-willed, and intolerant of people making her do anything she doesn't want to do.

Duchess is a beautiful Akita & Shepherd mix, 2-3 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She cannot be around small animals.

Please help us find Duchess her lifelong hero.

The Royal Prince Junior Puppies are now ready for adoption!

Edward, Harry & Jacob are "The Royal Prince Junior Puppies" debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

They are polite, adorable boys with peaceful spirits and loving personalities.

The boys only weigh about 8-9 pounds, so please be sure to extra carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.

They are Chihuahua & Terrier mixes, 9 months of age and now neutered.

The puppies needed us when their previous owner became too ill to care for them.

Please consider adopting a pair together, or the trio, for lifelong companionship.

Bailey, a rescued Cocker Spaniel ready to begin his new life.

Bailey is a gentle Cocker Spaniel who was at another shelter with a severely damaged eye.

We rescued him, had his eye removed at a veterinary hospital, and then placed him in a loving foster home so he could heal in peace and begin his adjustment to life with one eye in a home environment.

Bailey is about 8 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

He enjoys other dogs and adores people who snuggle with him.

Please help us find Bailey a forever home where he will be cherished and showered with affection.

Heidi, a young Shih-Tzu, triumphant survivor of horrific neglect.

A Clark County woman found this young girl thrown by an unknown person into her back yard.  She was in deplorable, matted condition that shocked even those of us who have saved countless victims of extreme neglect.

We named her Heidi and discovered after shaving away all of the filth and tangles that she has substantial scars around her body too.

It's clear Heidi had almost completely given up on the world and her soul dulled.

But now that Heidi is getting companionship with other dogs, care and comfort from volunteers and staff, and premium meals and treats, her spirit is beginning to sparkle again.

Heidi is a quiet-natured Shih-Tzu, 3 years of age, now spayed and awaiting a hero to adopt her at Nevada SPCA.

I want you to be my hero.

Pele is a remarkably sweet and adorable junior puppy with beautiful blue sunbursts in both eyes.

He is a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund mix), about 8 months of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Pele was surrendered to us by his previous owner (who cited her pregnancy as the reason) with a broken hind left leg caused by an accident somehow involving a young child jumping on a bed.  Pele is still healing, so please be sure to plan and budget sufficiently for follow-up veterinary care.

Please help find him a stable, responsible, loving forever home.
