We want a Rags-to-Riches happy ending!

These precious babies were rescued from an abandoned trailer, their mom sadly nowhere in sight, and we worry about what became of her.

Dweezil and his three sisters -- Diva, Moon, and Suzi -- we lovingly nicknamed "The Zappa Puppies" for their funky, down-to-earth personalities.

The Zappa Puppies are Bully mixes expected to grow to medium size.  They are now approximately 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption into loving, forever homes.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.  They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

A foster mom let me have my babies in a loving, peaceful environment.

Samantha, the mother
Egypt, baby girl
Bonzai, baby boy
Sunflower, baby girl
Athens, baby girl
At the time of rescue Samantha was on the mean streets, trying to survive, late in her pregnancy.

We placed her in a foster home and she shortly thereafter gave birth to 7 babies.  Samantha is a devoted mom and she successfully raised all 7 of her puppies in a loving environment.

Samantha and four of her babies are now spayed/neutered and ready for adoption.  (The other three need more care and will be ready for adoption in the weeks to come.)

Samantha is a beautiful Bully mix, 4 years of age.  Her babies are about 3 months of age.  Bonzai is a boy and Athens, Egypt, and Sunflower are girls.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.  They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

Samantha craves affection and gives kisses.  Her favorite toy is playing with large, empty water bottles (without lids).

I don't want to ever know starvation again. Please.

A real estate agent found this petite, sweet girl in a foreclosed home.  She was starving and emaciated, as no water or food was in sight.

We named her Sky and nursed her back to good health.  She is now ready for share her devotion with someone worthy of her innocence and love.

Sky is a lovely dilute calico, now spayed, 3 years of age.  Please ask for her by name in the Cat Condos.

Please help us continue with our progress in trusting people.

Kenny and Toby are adorable baby boys, brothers, with flashy and playful personalities.

But trusting people does not come easy for these puppies.  They made progress in a loving foster home, and this progress needs to continue in loving, forever homes with experienced owners.  Kenny, in particular, can get nippy with anxious or fearful, so he requires an adult-only home where this behavior can be curbed immediately.

Kenny and Toby were born to Harmony, a pretty and sweet Jack Russell Terrier mix who was homeless.  We have since spayed and adopted Harmony.  (Her portrait is below.)  Kenny and Toby are now neutered, 4 months of age, and we expect them to remain small in size like their mom.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Kenny and Toby can be adopted separately.

The gentle touch of a foster mom proved to me that humans can be kind.

Ivy's tipped right ear is the result of a local trap & release program for feral cats.  (Ears are tipped to indicate which of the feral cats have been spayed/neutered.)

But this little beauty was still a kitten and so we agreed to take her and place her in a loving foster home to be socialized so that she could one day be adopted into a caring, forever home.

Ivy's foster mom worked with her diligently for many months and succeeded in domesticating her.

Ivy is a Tortoiseshell, now about 2 years of age and very sweet with soft-spoken people.  She enjoys perching as high as she can on tall cat tree furniture, independently away from the other cats.

Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Cat Condo playrooms.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this lovely portrait to help her get adopted.

I have all of the enthusiasm and curiosity of my splendid mommy.

Theodore is a most adorable baby boy, full of love and innocence, affectionate with everyone.

He is a small Terrier mix, neutered boy, 3 months of age, now ready for adoption into a forever home.

Theodore and his mom (Golden Girl, pictured below) were rescued from the mean streets when he was just a newborn.  He was raised with her in our office, since all kennels were full, until it was time to wean him and place him in a foster home until he was old enough to be neutered.

His foster mom is impressed with his playful nature and very loving nature.  He adores his toys and he did fine in an X-pen when she was not home.

After Theodore's neuter and recovery, we reunited him with his mom in the office, and they have been frolicking and bonding and reacquainting.

Both are ready for adoption and they can be adopted separately.  Since they are not in the kennels, but in an office instead, it is important you ask for one or both by name when you visit.

Golden Girl, Theodore's mom

Do you promise to shower me with tons of love and attention?

A fastidious girl, Jasmine pulls her bites of food out of her bowl, kibble by kibble, eating them straight from her paw.

She is a Bengal with astonishing good looks, spayed, about 5 years of age, with bright, inquisitive eyes.

Jasmine is very chatty and needy, and she is a counter-dweller so she can engage you closely.

She needed us when her previous owner welcomed an extended family member into the home who is allergic to cats.

Jasmine may be best as the only cat, but she likes dogs who give her space and respect.  Bengal knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.  And, like all cats, she needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection.

Please be sure to ask for Jasmine by name when you visit.

The face of an angel!

Luna is a cheery, gentle, older girl anxiously awaiting adoption into a forever home.

Besides being housetrained, she is good with children and dogs.

Luna is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, spayed, about 10 years of age.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing her beautiful essence in this spectacular pet portrait.

Doogie -- before & after

Doogie - before, bed sores
Doogie - before, bed sores

Doogie on April 14
What a valiant, inspirational recovery this boy has made!

At the time of rescue Doogie was a matted mess of skin and bones.  When we shaved away the filthy knots, we discovered large, painful bed sores on both of his hips.  He was so weak he could barely stand up or lift his head.

Fast-forward three months, and thanks to tender loving care, Doogie is now a robust, playful, affectionate little guy ready for adoption into a loving home.

He is a Poodle mix, neutered, 5-6 years of age, compatible with other dogs, and he adores people.

His soulful eyes speak volumes.  Please help us ensure he never sees the reckless, cruel side of human nature again.

3 sets of Before & After pictures

Arabella - before
Arabella - after

Bernadette - before
Bernadette - after
Gabriella - before
Gabriella - after
These three gentle girls suffered years of unconscionable neglect in their previous home.  They were surrendered to us for rescue only upon imminent fear of prosecution for animal cruelty.

Previously unloved, they arrived with dimmed spirits and no hope of ever having much human contact.  We shaved them down and had them professionally groomed, revealing the little angels under the filth and knots in their old coats.

Arabella and Gabriella are most likely Poodle & Terrier mixes, ages 5 and 3, respectively.  Bernadette is a Wheaton Terrier mix, 5 years of age.  All three girls are now spayed and ready for adoption.

We seek loving, forever homes where they will know every day that they are cherished and adored.

We are proud of all three girls.  They are building trust and the sparkles are beginning to return to their eyes.

They can be adopted and we believe they will do best with a big brother or big sister dog to help them adjust.

I have the happiest feet!

Mizzy has a universe of love to share with the fortunate person (or people) who adopt her and give her a forever home.

She is a gorgeous, affectionate brown tabby with white, spayed girl, approximately 3 years of age.

Mizzy needed us when her previous owner moved out-of-state without her.

She melts our hearts when she does her 'happy feet dance' while looking into our eyes.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these magnificent portraits that capture her sweet spirit.

Say a prayer for my mommy.

Preacher (pictured here) and Bast, a young Siamese cat, needed us when their previous mom's cancer advanced and she was diagnosed with just weeks to live.  She loves them dearly and wants us to find them homes where they will be cherished every single day.

Preacher earned his name due to his enormous love for everyone.  He glows with heavenly goodness.  He enjoys nurturing people and other cats, licking them gently to comfort them.

He is a large tabby (with white), neutered boy, approximately 10 years of age.  Please come meet him, and please meet Bast too in case you can make room for two.

I will greet you every day with loving dances.

At the time of rescue Golden Girl and her newborn baby were alone on the mean streets, trying to survive.

We brought the two into our office for tender loving care and comfort.  Golden Girl was a terrific mama for her baby Theodore.  When it was time for him to be weaned, Theodore went into a foster home.

Golden Girl is now spayed and ready for adoption.  She is an intelligent, devoted small Terrier mix, about 3 years young.  She earned her name because of her sunny highlights throughout the black coat.

Golden Girl loves people with all of her heart and she is very social.  She also shows signs of housetraining.  She can get fussy with other dogs, but that could be her protective maternal instincts still.

Every time we come in the office she greets with a jubilant dance, standing upright on her hind legs, wiggling her entire body.

Please ask for Golden Girl by name when you visit.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this beautiful portrait to help her find a forever home.

Can you see me? I feel invisible.

At the time of rescue Luciel was on the mean streets, pregnant and lone and scared.

We placed her in a loving foster home and she successfully gave birth to four healthy kittens.

Luciel raised her kittens in the foster home until they were 3 months of age, then they were spayed/neutered and adopted to caring people.

Now, it's Luciel's turn to find a forever home.  But she gets passed over by visitors looking for Siamese, Snowshoe, Maine Coon, and other felines with more exotic looks.

We love Luciel's wisdom, and we understand her protectiveness is from her motherly instincts.  She is beautiful too, and ready to become a devoted lifelong companion.

Luciel is a steel-grey shorthair, spayed, about 4 years of age.  Please ask for her by name in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

Kicking me out of the family after 11 years? Why??

Little Bo Peep is understandably confused and distraught.

She was a good girl for 11 years, yet her previous owner threw her away, refusing to fill out a personality profile to help her or even make a donation of one dollar toward her care.

We are working to comfort Bo Peep and reassure her that she is safe.  We are dedicated to finding a loving home for her so that she spends her final years being adored.

She is a lovely Pomeranian, spayed, seeking a calm, gentle home.

Please consider Bo Peep and the many other seniors who are homeless due to no fault of their own.  Rich emotional rewards come with adopting seniors.

We look to you for comfort, guidance, and protection.

Drago and Darleen are loving kittens who yearn to connect with you and feel accepted.

They are brother and sister, 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and now ready for adoption.

Drago and Darleen can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship.

Drago is more on the mellow side and Darleen is more cuddly.

Please carefully kitten-proof your home for their safety and protection.

These angels were rescued from an abandoned house, along with four other cats.  All survived, fortunately.

My name fits me perfectly.

Smoochie is a charming boy who loves to give kisses.

We love his radiant personality and leonine appearance, made just that much more striking by his gold eyes and winning smile.

Smoochie is a Heinz 57, beautifully unique, a blend of many breeds.  He is neutered and about 3 years of age.

He is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, good at playing ball, and compatible with cats and dogs and mature kids.

Smoochie needed rescue due to his previous owner's financial collapse.

Please ask for this outstanding by name when you visit so that you can spend some time with him in our adoption courtyard.
