Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Reina is a young girl, but she is very maternal and likes to mother other cats and comfort them.  She is beautiful in spirit and appearance, 2 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Reina is very social and cries if she gets lonely, so we prefer adopting her to a home with another cat.   At the time of rescue Reina was found on the streets, and pregnant.  Veterinarians believed that due to extreme stress of abandonment, she miscarried four kittens. At the time of rescue Katrina's spirit was dulled from despair.  She was in neglected condition and had apparently been discarded by being recklessly thrown over a fence into someone's backyard.  Fortunately for Katrina , the yard belonged to Nevada SPCA volunteers and the couple's dogs were gentle and sweet to her.  Katrina is now brightening with renewed vitality.  She is a Malti-Poo (Maltese & Poodle mix), spayed girl, 2 years young, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Katrina craves kindness and reassurance.  Please help us find her someone who will shower her with love and remain committed to her for life. 

Lotus is a joyful, intelligent young girl with a luminous personality, and to see her is to want to hug her and get to know her.  She is an Australian Shepherd mix with unique, petite triangle-shaped ears, about 2 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Lotus is good with other dogs, but may be too playful for small or elderly dogs.  She was found roaming on the streets of Las Vegas with no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).  Please ask for Lotus by name when you visit.

Autumn is so afraid someone will scream at her, or strike her, that she cowers on the ground.  But she lets us pick her up and accepts our kindness.  We can only imagine what she has endured, yet she still wants to believe in people.  When Autumn sees another dog, her spirits lift and her tail begins to wag.  She loves other dogs and we would love to find her a home with a big sister dog or a big brother dog so she can reach her full loving potential.  Autumn is a very pretty, petite Bully mix, 2 years young, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Please help us find Autumn a hero.

A man said Moonbeam showed up unexpectedly in his yard after the Fourth of July during the extreme Vegas heatwave.  Without an ID tag or a microchip ID, he tried other means, without success, to find her previous owner.  He eventually decided that she may have been purposefully abandoned, so he asked for our help to get her spayed and find her a loving, forever home.  Moonbeam is initially shy, but blessed with a jolly disposition and she is now very hopeful for her future.  She is a beautiful Bully mix, 2 years young, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Margaret glows with love and kindness.  She is beautiful on the outside too -- her appearance is so stunning, turning heads as people are fascinated by her one-of-a-kind good looks.  Margaret is a blend of many breeds, including Australian Cattle Dog, about 3 years young, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is reportedly housetrained and good with kids.  She may be fine with dogs (but reportedly not around food).  We rescued Margaret from another shelter just in the nick of time.  Please ask for her specifically by name when you visit.

Mai Tai is an enchanting, calm-natured young girl ready to find a loving, forever, indoor-only home.  She is a gorgeous Lionhead rabbit, 2 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue Mai Tai had been abandoned in a park, perhaps yet another "Easter bunny" discarded when the holiday novelty wore off.  But domesticated bunnies need humans to survive.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing Mai Tai's very sweet spirit in these portraits.

Holly is a gorgeous, engaging young girl now ready for adoption in the Lovebugs Room at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Chinchilla breed rabbit, about 2 years of age and spayed.  Holly is very sweet and gently bonds with people she learns to trust.  Special thanks to the amazing Arica at Pet'ograhique for these whimsical portraits capturing her lively spirit. Holly needed us when her previous owners moved away without her.

Allie Scout Allie & Scout are outgoing, happy-go-lucky, warm-hearted sweethearts. They needed us because of their previous owner's financial distress/hardship. Allie is a Bloodhound, a girl, about 4 years of age.  Scout is a Bloodhound mix (believed to be 75% Bloodhound), a boy, about 3 years young.  They are spayed/neutered, and reportedly housetrained and good with other dogs (medium and large size). Bloodhound knowledge is needed for their adoption.  We strongly prefer keeping them together for lifelong love and companionship.

A family evacuating their mountainside home on July 5 due to the fires near Mt. Charleston spotted this young girl racing down the hill too.  Their car was full of people and belongings, but they scooped her up and squeezed her in.  Since then volunteers and staff have been trying to find a previous owner, to no avail.  She had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, etc.). Further, she was unspayed and it was clear she had been bred for puppies.  We named her Ellie and had her spayed.  Ellie is a tuxedo Bully mix with an affectionate nature and a delightful prance to her walk.  She is 1 year young and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Godiva's foster parents say she loves blowing bubbles while lounging in the pool. Godiva always sleeps and naps on her back, as carefree as can be. At the time of Godiva's rescue from another shelter in May, she was dangerously emaciated from starvation, weighing just 31 pounds.  ( To see her dramatic improvement, please compare these pictures to Godiva's original post. ) 60 days later, thriving in a loving foster home, she is now 51 pounds and doing so beautifully that she is almost unrecognizable. Special thanks to Mark & Angie, her foster parents, as well as Godiva's two big siblings (both are also Bullies). Mark & Angie say that Godiva loves lounging in their pool, putting her nose underwater and blowing bubbles, and that she always sleeps and naps on her back, as carefree as can be. Charisma is a delightful young girl with the most pleasant personality and she is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Toy Poodle mix, 2 years of age, spayed, and good with other sweet dogs.  We rescued Charisma to clean and groom her from neglect and to help her possible leg injury.  We found out that instead of an injury Charisma just has a mild slipping kneecap (luxating patella) in her right hind leg and surgery is not needed at this time (but a more leisurely lifestyle may be best for her).  Please come meet her and let her win your heart!

Amalie is a social butterfly, a gregarious young girl who still acts like a puppy, and she is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a gorgeous German Shepherd with a happy-go-lucky personality and she likes playing with tennis balls.  Amalie is about 1 year of age, now spayed, and reportedly good with mature kids.  German Shepherd knowledge is needed for her adoption.  Amalie needed us when her previous owner abandoned her in the backyard of a vacated home, with neighbors throwing food over the wall for her until they realized no one was ever coming back for her.

Violet has so much love in her heart and she is eager to please you and win approval.  She cherishes her time with the volunteers as she waits for the wondrous day when someone will come and adopt her at Nevada SPCA.  Violet is a young, lovely Bully mix, 3 years of age, a spayed girl, compatible with many dogs.  We rescued her from another shelter. Betty is a cheerful, fun-loving young girl with a warm personality and she enjoys kind children very much.  She is a Golden Retriever mix (but with a rich black coat), 1 year of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Betty is also good with other dogs.  We have mixed information about why Betty lost her previous home, ranging from a complaint that the kids won't play with her to a report that she was living exclusively outdoors on a patio.  Betty deserves to be cherished as a valued family member and welcomed indoors.

At the time of rescue Pekelekia was found nursing a single baby kitten, outside in the heat, against the back wall of a house.  Her baby remains in foster care until old enough to be spayed/neutered, but Pekelekia is now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a very devoted young girl, a gorgeous Siamese, about 2 years of age.  Pekelekia adores people and the playful side of her personality is emerging. She gets along fine with other cats too.  Please help us find her a loving, stable, indoor-only, forever home.

When we told Daisey that she is a beautiful treasure and that her coat is velvet-soft, this shy young girl gave us this wondrous smile!  We rescued her from another shelter and today she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Daisy is a large blend of many breeds, giving her a perfectly unique appearance, and she is about 18 months of age and spayed.  She craves adoration and she has a social nature, so please make sure you have plenty of quality time to spend with her every day.

Lacy and her three babies were left behind in an abandoned apartment without food or water.  Lacy's kittens survived and they are eating on their own and remaining in foster care until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered.  Lacy is now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She had the weight of the world on her shoulders before, trying to keep herself and her babies alive, but she is now relaxing and engaging in playtime herself, favoring the fuzzy mice toys.  Lacy is a gorgeous Seal Point Siamese, 2 years of age, affectionate in nature, and compatible with other cats who give her space.

At the time of rescue, Mindi was at another shelter and she had been hit by a car.  We took her to a veterinary hospital and her right hind leg was too badly broken to be saved.  But Mindi is adjusting well to life on three legs, living in the moment, now bouncy and peppy to be feeling better and having a fresh start for a better life and future.  Mindi is a 7-pound angel, a pretty Miniature Pinscher, 1 year young, spayed girl, good with other dogs, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Haley is a very endearing girl who loves soaking up attention and adoration. She seems like she is not used to hearing compliments and words of encouragement, so it is beautiful watching her awaken to feeling valued.  Haley is a lovely Tibetan Terrier mix, 1 year young, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is good with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming of her long coat.  We rescued Haley from another shelter to treat her ear infection.  She is now well and ready for a loving, forever home.
