Bindi and Brandi

Image
Bindi Brandi Bindi and Brandi , developing emotionally thanks to the dedication of volunteers and staff, are the last two of the 33 rescued Whippet/Beagle/Boxer/Weimaraner mixes rescued on March 1, to be ready for adoption to loving, forever homes.  All others have been adopted or are already awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA. Bindi and Brandi , at just 25 and 23 pounds, are two of the smallest of the group. Both girls are 3 years of age, spayed, and compatible with dog s larger than themselves.  Both like to be held and carried. They have learned to walk short distances on leash, but then stop and want us to carry them the rest of the way. More details on the 33 dogs confiscated from an owner convicted of animal cruelty. Uplifting, 2-minute video on the healing of the 33 rescued dogs.

Logan

Image
Logan has the brightest eyes for his future and his whole body wiggles with joy when it's time for a meal or a walk.  This sporty boy has made a terrific recovery from abuse thanks to socialization from dedicated volunteers and staff.  Logan is a large blend of many breeds and naturally clad in a tuxedo, about 7-8 years of age, neutered, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Logan adores people, but he still cannot be around other dogs.  Please help find him a one-dog household where he will only see the best of human nature.

Alexandria

Image
Alexandria now understands there is kindness in the world, and thanks to months of loving attention from volunteers, her spirits are soaring with hope!  She is a medium-size Heinz 57 (unique blend of many breeds), 2 years young, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  An abuse survivor, found abandoned on the streets, she is still shy with strangers, but she quickly warms to people and shines.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these remarkable portraits to help Alexandria find a responsible, loving forever home.

Thank you for believing in me and knowing I would get better.

Texas hopes everyone will take note of the great progress he is making and give him new consideration.  Very caring volunteers have been helping him for months overcome memories of cruelty and encouraging him to believe in people again.  Texas likes to stand on his hind legs and place his paws on your knee to listen to you tell him what a good boy he is.  He gets along very well with other gentle dogs and likes to nap and sleep under blankets.  Texas is a tiny Chihuahua, 6 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please help find a hero who can help Texas continue to improve and reach his full loving potential and Southern charm.

I am starting to see people in a better light.

We're so proud of Drago , a "beautiful little work in progress", a sweet youngster who is recovering from severe abuse and cruelty.  Thanks to dedicated volunteers and staff, Drago has decided that some people can be kind and worthy of his trust.  He is good with other friendly dogs, about 3 years of age, an especially attractive Chihuahua, neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Great thanks to Pet'ographique for these three remarkable portraits showcasing Drago's improvement and loving spirit.

Smokey's progress.

Image
We rescued Smokey in January from another shelter.  The victim of severe abuse and neglect, he had no self-esteem and wanted absolutely nothing to do with humans.  But we paired him with another dog for socialization and companionship, and thanks also to dedicated volunteers boosting his spirits, Smokey has made slow and steady progress.  Today, Smokey is still shy, but he realizes people can be kind, and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a Heeler & Shepherd mix with a cute underbite and expressive eyes, 1 year young and neutered.  We strongly prefer adopting him to a home where he will have a big sister or brother dog to help him keep learning and adjusting and building confidence so that he can reach his full loving potential.

Your kindness has changed my view of the world.

Volunteers with passion for animal rescue & rehabilitation work every day to comfort confused animals and give them faith in humans.  Sometimes their magic works immediately.  Just days ago Craig arrived from another shelter that asked for our help because he was very timid.  Craig is a cream Chihuahua, 1 year of age, a neutered boy, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Craig's is shining and his spirits are soaring thanks to the volunteers who have proven to him that humans can be quite kind.

I wish I could tell you how much I love you.

Luna is a captivating baby girl who has made a tremendous recovery and she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue she was at another shelter with a very severe hip injury, perhaps due to a long fall from a stairway or roof, and some neurological damage.  Thanks to generous donors for advanced medical care, we had hip surgery for Luna , and she is recovering better than expected.  Volunteers have patiently taken her for slow walks, helping her get her coordination back.  Luna may not fully recover normal walking, but she is getting around now quite well without pain or discomfort.  Luna is a junior puppy, a Bully mix with a beautiful spirit, about 9 months of age and spayed.  Luna loves people with all of her heart and seems to get along well with other dogs.

I've always wanted to be a good boy and to please you.

Roscoe is a calm, well-mannered, quiet (rarely ever barks) young Labrador Retriever mix, 3 years of age, a neutered boy, housetrained, available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He loves laying in your lap and licking your face.  Thanks to the volunteers who have dedicated many hours to helping him, it's time to give Roscoe another look.  We are celebrating his progress with these brand new Pet'ographique portraits.  At the time of rescue many months ago Roscoe was play-biting hard, unaware of his strength.  He is now much more gentle and his play-biting has diminished.  Please help us find Roscoe an experienced, loving, forever home.
