Coco

Image
Coco , now well and eyes sparkling, wants someone wonderful to love forever.    She likes crawling, demurely, to your feet and then asks you to pick her up and hold her.    Coco is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, 1 year young and spayed, good with other dogs, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . At the time of rescue, from a suspected breeder, Coco was in peril from parvovirus. We rushed her into emergency medical care at an animal hospital, and thanks to extensive treatment made possible by generous donors, veterinarians were able to save her life.

Sunshine

Image
Sunshine , gentle and earnest, triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .   She is a Shih-Tzu & Poodle mix, 1 year of age, good with other dogs, and now spayed. Sunshine's "before" picture from the time of her rescue is too shocking and upsetting to share (especially since many children and young people follow our posts). Her matting was so extreme that one of her hind legs was tangled and unusable in a giant knot and both of her eyes were severely infected.    Now, after 3 months of recovery, Sunshine is unrecognizable from the time of rescue. Her hope and will to live have returned and she asks for someone gentle and patient to dearly treasure her.

Stephen

Image
Stephen , now healed, is ready to share his love and bring more goodness into the world. He is a young medium-hair tabby with bobcat-like attractiveness, 2 years of age, neutered, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . At the time of rescue Stephen was found on the streets and he had been struck by a vehicle. He had head trauma and a broken hind leg.    We rushed him to an animal hospital to save his life and the veterinarians were also successful in saving his leg. Thank you very much to the generous donors who make advanced, lifesaving care for rescued animals possible.

Brianna

Image
Brianna , a remarkably kind and gentle Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff), needs someone to dearly love.  She is 5 years of age, good with other large dogs, spayed, and triumphantly debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Brianna was at another shelter with a severe, non-contagious skin infection at the time of rescue. After 4 weeks of treatment, her skin has continued improving well and much of her hair has regrown.

Liza

Image
November 4 July 6 August Liza triumphantly debuting for adoption today! Many of you will remember this past summer when a 10-day-old blind baby was found clinging to a storm drain. A couple walking their dog after the rainstorm discovered her and saved her from being washed away and drowned. Her face was covered by an enormous scab of infection (our photo is too graphic to post), resulting in the loss of her right eye and partial destruction of her left eye. Sonja, her foster mom, named her Liza , and nurtured her with remarkably tender care. Liza's desperate will to live was evident in many ways, including how she grasped her bottle. Liza is now 4 months of age, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . More than anything, she loves being held and cuddled. A gentle, reassuring touch means everything to her. Liza is fearless at times. A special room with low-standing surfaces may continue to be ideal. She sometimes cli...

Doodlebug's triumphant recovery!

Image
Doodlebug's remarkable triumph over malnutrition and extreme neglect! This precious baby girl debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Doodlebug lays her head on your shoulder when you carry her in your arms. She has an angelic temperament and she is a Heinz 57 with Bully, now 4 months of age and spayed. On July 22, the day of her rescue from another shelter (picture 2), Doodlebug could not walk.  Click here for a 14-second video of her on that day.  Her front legs were weak and curled inward to such an extent she could not balance on them. We took her to an advanced veterinary care specialty center and the veterinarians there determined that the problem was not birth defects, but instead malnutrition and unconscionable confinement. (They suspect her previous owners had her in some type of enclosure where she was unable to walk.) They outlined a therapy and food plan for Doodlebug and hoped she could make a full recovery. ...

Bradford's recovery.

Image
Bradford , triumphantly recovering from extreme pain and despair, has remarkably improved, physically and emotionally.    He is a young, small Heinz 57 with Jack Russell Terrier, good with other dogs, and he is now neutered and ready for a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue, Bradford was hairless and his skin was so inflamed and infected that it hurt for anyone to even touch him gently. He had noncontagious mange, which his previous owners did not have treated, resulting in severe bacterial infections throughout his skin. Bradford has learned that it no longer hurts to be touched. Following 8 weeks of treatment, his infections are gone, his skin continues healing, and he is re-growing hair. (There are some patches of scar tissue that may never re-grow hair.) He asks for a very kind hero to help him continue reaching his full loving potential.

Valentine

Image
Valentine , a puppy found abandoned and perilously ill, has made a beautiful recovery and triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    She is bursting with energy and enthusiasm for her new life! Valentine is a playful German Shepherd, 8 months of age, and now spayed.    Thank you very much to the donors to our advanced care fund who helped make her emergency veterinary care possible.    We believe Valentine is compatible with kids and some dogs, though she may be too rambunctious and excitable for small children.

Before & After -- Victoria

Image
Victoria, May 18 Victoria, June 6 Victoria is a precious young Maltese with a gentle soul and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We decided to share one of her "before" pictures, after being found on the streets, in order to better tell her story. However, her condition was much more grave beyond just horrific neglect, with a massive wound on her left side (which is too graphic to post), from an unknown cause (suspected dog or coyote attack). Victoria has healed well, bonded with other sweet dogs here, and snuggled with staff and volunteers. Physically and emotionally, she is making a terrific recovery. She is 2 years of age, now spayed, and asking for a peaceful owner where she will always know she's cherished.

Pippen

Image
Pippin , a 7-pound and 8-month baby boy, has triumphantly recovered from severe injuries.    He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his broken bones and soft tissue injuries, the result of an unknown massive trauma (such as being hit by a car). Now healed, Pippin enjoys running and jumping, meeting dogs to play with and people to bond with, and chewing on toys.    He is a super cute Chihuahua, neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

Cleopatra

Image
Cleopatra , a baby girl rescued in January, makes a stunning recovery and triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.    She is a Labrador Retriever mix puppy, 4 months of age and spayed, affectionate and eager to devote herself to someone who will treasure her for life. At the time of rescue Cleopatra was in peril from parvo virus.    Thank you very much to the donors who made her extensive emergency medical treatment possible.

Gazelle

Image
Gazelle , now recovered from starvation, beautifully debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Jack Russell Terrier & Italian Greyhound mix with unique coloration, 2 years young and spayed, and good with other sweet dogs.  At the time of rescue she was at another shelter and emaciated with a bulging spine and ribs.  Gazelle is bashful and best suited for a very gentle home.

The tender care of a foster parent saved me from starvation.

Cranston was so weak and malnourished at the time of rescue that he could not walk.  He was discovered under a bush at an apartment complex.  We placed Cranston in a wonderful foster home where he was hand-fed his salad greens & veggies, and gradually, he began recovering weight and energy.  Now, many weeks later, Cranston has recovered so beautifully that he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA in the Lovebugs Room.  He is 1 year of age, a calico American breed guinea pig with a very sweet and friendly personality.

Cecily

Image
Cecily is a tiny, pixie-like baby girl with a precious soul and she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a small Heinz 57 -- a sweet blend of many breeds -- about 6 months of age, good with other dogs, and now spayed.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. At the time of rescue Cecily was in peril from the deadly parvo virus.  We rushed her to a veterinary hospital, and thanks to extensive veterinary care made possible by our advanced medical fund, Cecily made a full, beautiful recovery!

I like to know that everyone around me is happy with me.

Jack is a little, golden miracle and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He was found by kind Fire Department personnel after he had been hit by a car and they rushed him to us for emergency care.  Veterinarians were able to save Jack's life, but not his right front leg.  Jack has adjusted well to life on three legs.  The hospital staff adore him and say he is remarkably well-behaved and intelligent.  Based on his behaviors during recovery, we know he is good with dogs and most likely both housetrained and crate-trained.  Jack is 2 years young, a small and cute Terrier mix, and now neutered.  Please share his picture and help him find a wonderful, loving forever home where he will never be in danger again.

Dodge not only survived a vicious stabbing, but he also still loves people.

Image
Dodge's survival is miraculous, and the fact that he still loves humans is equally tremendous.  An officer found him repeatedly stabbed in the neck (knife wounds of 3-4 inches deep on the left side) and discarded to die on a Vegas street.  Dodge was taken to another shelter that in turn asked for our help.  He has now healed and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Dodge adores kind people and loves being touched, petted, hugged, and reassured.  He is just one year of age, a neutered boy, and now ready to bless someone wonderful with his unconditional love.

I wish I could tell you how much I love you.

Luna is a captivating baby girl who has made a tremendous recovery and she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue she was at another shelter with a very severe hip injury, perhaps due to a long fall from a stairway or roof, and some neurological damage.  Thanks to generous donors for advanced medical care, we had hip surgery for Luna , and she is recovering better than expected.  Volunteers have patiently taken her for slow walks, helping her get her coordination back.  Luna may not fully recover normal walking, but she is getting around now quite well without pain or discomfort.  Luna is a junior puppy, a Bully mix with a beautiful spirit, about 9 months of age and spayed.  Luna loves people with all of her heart and seems to get along well with other dogs.

Don't we all deserve kindness and compassion?

Image
We named this baby-faced girl " Bliss " because she has so much devotion in her eyes.  Bliss was found on the streets of Las Vegas in a state of starvation with no sign of responsible ownership.  She has been recovering weight and energy for many weeks now and today she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Bliss adores people and she is very grateful for every act of kindness and compassion.  She is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Bully and tiger coloring, spayed, and about 6 years of age.

Can you please make sure I never land on the streets again?

Lucy triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue she had just been hit by a car, with the marks from a tire visible across her left back side.  Lucy was in shock from the trauma, but the veterinary hospital confirmed that somehow she had escaped this close call with tragedy without any broken bones or severe injuries.  Lucy craves attention and she is good with other dogs.  She is a Bully mix, about 3 years of age, spayed, and dreaming of a responsible, loving, forever home.

The world is now going to see what I am all about!

Veterinarians gave this Rottweiler puppy little chance of survival back in early December at the time of his rescue.  He was very sick with parvo. But thanks to extensive medical care (made possible by your generous donations), and his strong will to live, he made a full recovery! Initially called "Santa's Little Helper", we now call him Rickman , and today, Rickman triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Rickman is a thoughtful, loving baby boy, neutered, about 5 months of age.  Rottweiler knowledge is strongly preferred for his adoption. Very special thanks to all of you who support Nevada SPCA and made Rickman's rescue and rehabilitation possible.
