Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Matisse , a polite gentleman adjusting well to life with three legs, treasures peaceful moments in your lap and at your side.  He is a distinguished blend of small breeds, including Spaniel and Toy, 5 years of age, housetrained, good with dogs and kids, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  At the time of rescue Matisse's front right leg was broken beyond repair due to a dangerous fall. He has healed well from the amputation and he's ready to join a loving, forever home.

Cinder , still a kitten at 9 months of age, is adjusting very well to life on three legs. He now runs and jumps without hesitation. At the time of rescue Cinder had fallen off a 2-story balcony. We rushed him to an animal hospital and x-rays revealed his hind leg was broken in multiple places beyond repair. Cinder loves playing with people and cats. He is now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .

Sibyl , a precious baby girl with three legs, loves belly rubs, pouncing on her toys, and bonding with cats and dogs.  She is a blue-grey shorthair kitten, three months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Sibyl has been raised in a loving foster home since her rescue from the streets.  The cause of her missing hind left leg is likely from a birth defect or an injury at birth.  Please visit and ask for Sibyl by name.

Paula is adjusting to life on three legs, but emotionally, her recovery from domestic violence will take much longer. This very gentle girl was at another shelter that asked for our help. Her hind left leg was so badly broken beyond repair that it had to be amputated. Paula longs for peace-of-mind and asks for a gentle owner who will always keep her safe. She is a young Chihuahua & toy mix, 3 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Charleston , 3, a sunny boy, is adjusting well to life on three legs and walks politely with a waltz/prance.    He is an especially handsome Caroline Dog mix, 3 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with dogs and older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Charleston is afraid of loud voices. Speak to him gently and he beams.    At the time of rescue he was in acute distress. He had been struck by a vehicle, badly breaking his left front leg. His previous owners could not afford veterinary care and he had chewed off a portion of his leg.    Charleston is now fully healed from his amputation surgery and ready to bless someone wonderful with his lifelong unconditional devotion.

Brady is so light-hearted and agile we keep forgetting that he's not a puppy and doesn't have four legs. He is terrific with cats, dogs, and kids, plus housetrained too. Brady is a Wirehaired Fox Terrier & Miniature Schnauzer mix, 5 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He adjusted to only one hind leg long ago (and we don't know what happened). Brady's previous owner was reportedly very ill and he was being neglected. We hope Brady never loses his puppy-like innocence.

Angelo is an incredibly lovable and huggable youngster adjusting well to life on three legs and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Angelo is blessed with a jovial spirit and adores cats, dogs, and kids, plus he's housetrained too.    He is a large, stocky, 70-pound American Bulldog mix with a teddy bear personality winning everyone's heart!   Angelo is 2 years of age and neutered.    At the time of rescue his hind right leg was snapped and crushed so badly it was beyond repair and required amputation.

Toto , 11 years of age, 3 legs, and a heart of gold. Toto is a wise, good-natured Jack Russell Terrier mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is housetrained and compatible with dogs and older kids.  We rescued Toto from another shelter.  He lost his hind left leg years ago (reason unknown) and we removed a lump from his hind right leg.  Please help find Toto a stable, loving forever home where he will be dearly cherished.

Penny , a tiny angel, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is fantastic with cats and dogs, housetrained & crate-trained, a spayed Chihuahua, 7 years of age.  Thanks to wonderful foster care, Penny has adjusted very well to life on three legs.  (At the time of rescue Penny was at another shelter and her front left leg was broken beyond repair.)  Her foster mom says Penny hops around like a baby deer, even running up and down stairs perfectly fine.  She also says Penny is so affectionate she can cuddle all night and doesn't want to get out of bed in the morning.  She enjoys sun-bathing, belly rubs, and giving doggie kisses.

Miss Marvel , a miraculous survivor, was witnessed being run over by two cars.  Veterinarians were able to save her life, but not her crushed front right leg.  Miss Marvel has adjusted well to life on three legs and not only moves easily, but likes to stand on her hind legs while she rubs against you, asking you to pick her up.  Miss Marvel is a petite and slender blue & cream & white (dilute calico) shorthair, 1 year of age, spayed girl, great with other cats, triumphantly ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please help us this angel a wonderful, lifelong, indoor-only home where she will be cherished.

Selene is so comfortable in your arms that she will rub her cheeks against yours to show her gratitude for your kindness.  She is a young girl with magical eyes (traces of copper & gold), a shorthair polydactyl (extra toes), 1 year of age, spayed, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue Selene had been hit by a car and her hind right leg was crushed beyond repair (requiring amputation).  Selene has now healed well and continues to adjust to life on three legs.  Please help us find someone who will cherish her, shower her with love, and always keep her safely indoors.

We rescued Mermaid earlier this autumn from another shelter.  Her left hind leg was severely broken in multiple places and veterinarians could not save it.  But Mermaid is adjusting well to life on three legs, thanks to healing and tender care in a foster home following her amputation surgery.  Mermaid is an affectionate, bashful junior puppy, 9 months of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please share her pictures to help find her a wonderful, lifelong home where she will be treasured.

Valerie was at another shelter that asked for our help.  Her right front paw was deformed (birth defect).  We rescued her and a veterinary specialist recommended amputation.  Valerie has healed and adjusted well, and we love her positive, can-do attitude.  She is a Toy & Terrier mix, 2 years young, spayed girl, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Valerie adores people and dogs and she is eager to begin her new life.

We are so proud of Ranger's physical and emotional healing from abuse, as well as deeply grateful to the volunteers helping him understand that humans can be kind.  Ranger's right front leg was injured beyond repair at the time of rescue due to extreme trauma.  He has been adjusting well to life on three legs and he is ready to join a loving, stable, forever home.  Ranger is a super sweet Chihuahua mix, 2 years of age, good with other dogs, neutered, and available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Maxwell is a tiny, spunky youngster who has successfully healed from his leg amputation and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He loves being the center of attention, yet only weighs 7 pounds, so please take extra safety precautions for him in your home and yard.  Maxwell is a cute Longhair Chihuahua, 3 years of age, neutered, and good with other friendly dogs.  At the time of rescue he was at another shelter with a front left leg so severely broken it could not be saved.  (The cause of the massive trauma to his leg remains unknown.)

Hope needs a hero.  She reportedly came from a broken home, lost her right front leg (reportedly due to being struck by a car, but all that is known for certain is that she sustained massive trauma), and reportedly does not like men or children touching her.  Hope is a lovely Italian Greyhound mix, about 6 years of age, a spayed girl, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is housetrained and good with other dogs.  Hope adores women and bonds strongly to those who are kind to her.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these exceptional portraits to help showcase Hope and find her the forever home she needs to reach her full loving potential.

Spartan is a chipper, enthusiastic youngster adjusting beautifully to life on three legs and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a handsome Miniature Pinscher & Dachshund mix, 3 years of age and neutered, good with dogs, and reportedly housetrained and compatible with cats & children too. At the time of rescue last month, Spartan's hind right leg was crushed beyond repair.  His previous owner said that someone had fallen on him, but all we know for certain is that he sustained massive trauma to his leg. Spartan is very ready for his new life and hopes you will come meet and adopt him today! Wolfgang is a tiny, 4-pound boy found injured near one of the busiest avenues in Las Vegas and he had no sign of responsible ownership.  X-rays showed that the break in his hind right leg was so severe that even surgical remodeling would not likely be able to save his leg.  Wolfgang is adjusting to life on three legs and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a cute Chihuahua, about 7 years of age and now neutered.  Wolfgang is great with other dogs, but he can be fussy with people so an experienced, adult-only home is ideal.

Ranger's adjustment to life on three legs is much simpler than his recovery from cruelty and abuse.  We rescued this young boy from another shelter and extreme trauma had injured his right front leg beyond repair.  Ranger is worried that if he trusts the wrong person that he will become victimized by violence yet again.  But volunteers and staff are succeeding in helping him feel safe and he's beginning to bloom.  Ranger is an attractive Chihuahua mix, 2 years of age, neutered, very good with other dogs, and he is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA and seeking a hero to help his emotional healing continue.

Hewey is a vibrant youngster who loves to shower your face with doggie kisses!  He's progressed very well since his rescue when was in acute pain from a severely broken right front leg that could not be saved (an injury consistent with extreme trauma, such as being hit by a vehicle or falling from a roof).  Hewey bounces around joyfully on three legs, happy to no longer be suffering.  He is a chocolate & cream Chihuahua, 1 year of age, neutered, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
