Anastasia

Image
Anastasia , 16, must finally get to know what a loving home feels like. We rescued this tiny, 6-pound girl from another shelter to provide her with dental care and put her on a premium, probiotic food plan. Due to severe malnourishment, her skin and coat had deteriorated, and much of her hair had fallen out in large patches. Her caretakers suspect she hadn't been eating proper dog food for years. Anastasia is a gentle Miniature Pinscher, good with other dogs, spayed, and ready for adoption to a hero today. Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Anastasia by name.

Christian

Image
Christian , 10, revels in praise and loves hearing us tell him that years of love are ahead. All indications suggest he endured many years, if not a lifetime so far, in a loveless backyard with little interaction.  At the time of rescue he was at another shelter in emaciated condition with hair loss from malnutrition and an open neck wound (likely from a too-tight collar slicing into his neck).  Christian is rebounding physically and emotionally.  His veterinary care included dental care and he is on a premium probiotic weight gain plan, with his skin and hair gradually improving.  Christian wants to be with dogs and people so he's never lonely again.  He is a chocolate Miniature Pinscher, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Moira

Image
Moira studies people carefully as they care for her, whether it's preparing her daily salads of fresh greens or cleaning her habitat.  She wants to learn all she can and understand people.  Moira is an intelligent, lovely youngster, a blend of many bunny breeds, 1 year of age, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA in the Lovebugs Room. She was rescued from horrific neglect.  But she now has learned that people can be nurturing, so she enjoys people being around her. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing her personality in this sweet portrait.

Heidi, a young Shih-Tzu, triumphant survivor of horrific neglect.

Image
A Clark County woman found this young girl thrown by an unknown person into her back yard.  She was in deplorable, matted condition that shocked even those of us who have saved countless victims of extreme neglect.  We named her Heidi and discovered after shaving away all of the filth and tangles that she has substantial scars around her body too.  It's clear Heidi had almost completely given up on the world and her soul dulled.  But now that Heidi is getting companionship with other dogs, care and comfort from volunteers and staff, and premium meals and treats, her spirit is beginning to sparkle again.  Heidi is a quiet-natured Shih-Tzu, 3 years of age, now spayed and awaiting a hero to adopt her at Nevada SPCA.
