Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

There's so much beauty and gratitude in Tristan's face, and his heart overflows with grace. At the time of rescue Tristan was at another shelter in peril from starvation, weighing only 42 pounds. Today, Tristan weighs 73 pounds, and he is full of energy and sparkle in his eyes. Tristan is a young German Shepherd mix, 3 years of age and neutered, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He is compatible with some dogs, but picky about which ones he likes. Henry , a starvation and extreme neglect survivor, earnestly appreciates all kindness. While recovering in a foster home, he bounced in place, leaping as high in the air as he could, overwhelmed with anticipation while his foster mom prepared his meals. Henry is a Maltese & Powder Puff mix, 6 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . He can walk and run well, but has mild neurological damage and sometimes spins in rapid circles. Henry doesn't like his face being touched, so an experienced, adult-only home is needed please. Henry needed us when his previous owner abandoned him with a roommate in terrible condition.

A married couple horseback riding together in a southern Utah forest discovered a starving dog so frail and emaciated she could barely stand up. The couple, Brent & Kimberly, lifted her up on to one of their horses, rode her back to the safety of their home, and then heroically nursed her back to life. Bebe is now enjoying lifted spirits, good body mass, and ever-improving energy levels.    She is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Manchester Terrier and many other breeds, 3 years of age and spayed, housetrained & crate-trained, good with dogs and kids (but not cats), and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

O'Dell is a zany-fun boy with a comical temperament.    He is a golden-eyed Bully mix, chocolate & white, 4 years of age, neutered, compatible with some female dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    O'Dell was at another shelter that asked for our help due to running out of space for him. O'Dell reportedly missed meals in a previous home and experienced desperate hunger. Understandably, food is very serious to him. We strongly recommend a very steady meal and treat schedule so he never has to fear going hungry again. Also, due to his intensity with food, he requires a home without young children. Elizabeth doesn't know it yet, but she will never be hurt again. We hug this gentle young girl and she is shocked to be treated with compassion. Elizabeth is a Plott Hound mix, 1 year of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued her from another shelter that asked for our help due to her past abuse and emaciated condition. Elizabeth has three long scars made from cuts of a sharp object behind the right side of her ear and neck. We can only imagine what she endured, and clearly, her emotional pain far outweighs what her previous owner did to her physically. We look forward to the day when Elizabeth beams and shines, fully aware she is safe, loved, and in a forever home.    Please share her post and help her find a hero for life.

Rachel coos and cries when she eats. She is so grateful for every bite. At the time of rescue she was emaciated from starvation. She was found running in the middle of a major Vegas boulevard (Jones), perhaps as a last resort to get help. Rachel needed veterinary care, but fortunately her organs had not begun to shut down. Rachel continues building energy and hope. She is a petite Chihuahua, friendly and loving, 4 years of age, spayed, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Hank has made an incredible recovery from starvation. Now, after 5 months of healing and building energey, he is spirited, athletic, and in terrific physical condition. In January, he was found emaciated and skeletal in an abandoned home. His previous owners reportedly moved away and left him inside. A neighbor discovered Hank inside and rushed him to us for emergency care. Hank is a handsome Miniature Pinscher mix, 1 year of age, housetrained, good with dogs (if fed meals and treats separately), now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Tilda , now serene and content, has made a wonderful recovery from starvation.  At the time of rescue she was severely emaciated on the streets.  Tilda is drawn to nurturing people and calm cats.  She is a lovely medium-hair tabby, 3 years young, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.   Please help find her a stable, loving home where she will never know desperate hunger or fear of survival again.

Julie , a starvation survivor, does not take kindness for granted. She gently nuzzles your neck and shoulder when you hold and reassure her that she is safe. Julie is steadily regaining energy and the sparkle of life is coming back in her eyes. She is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA and her progress can continue in a loving, forever home. Julie is an Italian Greyhound & Chihuahua mix, 2 years young, spayed girl, good with other dogs. We rescued her from another shelter.

Caesar , an intelligent and endearing boy, is recovering well from starvation and debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a Belgian Malinois mix, 5 years of age and neutered.  Caesar was at another shelter, emaciated and fearful, and urgently needed our help.  Now eating premium and probiotic meals, he improves daily with not just weight and energy, but also with confidence.  We look forward to the day when Caesar is more light-hearted and no longer fears desperate hunger or peril.
