Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Connor will win your heart if you let him show you how gentle, devoted, and intelligent he is.  He is housetrained & crate-trained and compatible with cats and dogs.  Connor is a Queensland Heeler with copper eye patches, 8 years of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He became homeless due to the personal problems his previous owner was having.  Please visit and ask for him by name.

Pele is a remarkably sweet and adorable junior puppy with beautiful blue sunbursts in both eyes.  He is a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund mix), about 8 months of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Pele was surrendered to us by his previous owner (who cited her pregnancy as the reason) with a broken hind left leg caused by an accident somehow involving a young child jumping on a bed.  Pele is still healing, so please be sure to plan and budget sufficiently for follow-up veterinary care.  Please help find him a stable, responsible, loving forever home.

Casper and Marcy , brother and sister, are breathtakingly cute babies now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. They are 5 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Casper has flame point coloring and Marcy has seal point coloring.  We rescued them in August during an exceptionally hot day and they were in heat distress.  They have since been lovingly raised and socialized in a wonderful foster home.  Casper and Marcy are warming up to people well and both kittens are great with other cats and fascinated with their toys.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this portrait to help them find an indoor-only, stable, forever home.

Lilly Ann is a sensitive young girl who knows the world can be cruel and violent.  At the time of her rescue this summer she had decided that humans were not worth bothering with and she despised us all.  But as the weeks went by Lilly Ann decided that one of our male staff members could be trusted, and she grew to look forward to her daily time with him.  She gazes into his eyes adoringly, pleading for continuing safety.  Lilly Ann has a long road of emotional healing ahead, but we feel she has progressed enough that she is ready to debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is a very pretty Cocker Spaniel, 2 years of age, spayed, and good with other dogs.  Please help us find her the patient, experienced, stable, adult-only home that will help her realize her full loving potential.

At the time of rescue this earnest little fellow's left eye was almost out of its socket, gauged while he reportedly tried to crawl underneath a fence to get away from the sound of a fire engine siren.  His previous owner could not afford veterinary care and surrendered him to Nevada SPCA.  We rushed him to a veterinary hospital and the veterinarian was able to save his eye.  Dasher is a tuxedo Chihuahua mix, well-behaved and very sweet, about 10 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Dasher is good with dogs and reportedly compatible with kind children of all ages, plus housetrained too.  Dasher longs for a stable, peaceful home environment, free of loud noises.

Honeydew is an adventurous, enchanting young girl with unique beauty and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a large, very slender girl, a Saluki or Greyhound mix, 1 year of age and now spayed.  Honeydew is reportedly housetrained, good with dogs, and so social that only people and dogs interest her (not toys).  She lost her previous home reportedly due to separation anxiety.  We have not witnessed separation here, but her previous owners said she panicked whenever she was left alone.  Our experience is that separation anxiety can diminish with time and patience in a very stable, experienced home environment, usually with crate-training and/or companionship with another animal.
