Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

We are trying to convince Geraldine that her life is going to get much better. Soft voices and chin scratches help bring her out of her shell. Geraldine , devastated by her surrender (previous owners said they did not have enough time for her), rolls up like a hedgehog and refuses eye contact at first.    She is a lovely, gentle Snowshoe, 1 year of age and spayed, find with other cats, and ready for a hero to adopt her at Nevada SPCA .    Please plan for plenty of quality time and cuddling with Geraldine daily to help her feel secure and bloom.

Stella , a gentle girl with ocean-blue eyes, appreciates every act of kindness.  She is a Siamese & Snowshoe, 9 years of age and spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Stella adores other cats and seeks those who will snuggle with her in cat beds.  At the time of rescue Stella was found abandoned in a crate in a parking lot without food, water, or protection from the summer sun.

Leda craves reassurance and curls up tight in your arms for as long as you can hold her.  She is a gorgeous Snowshoe youngster, 3 years of age and spayed, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Leda was found abandoned in a discarded cardboard box without food or water.  Please cherish her and tell her you love her every day.

Duncan is fascinated by human behavior, laser pointer toys, and boxes.  He is an exceptionally handsome Snowshoe, 1 year young and neutered, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Duncan was needed after his previous owner abandoned him at a veterinary clinic (for reasons unknown).  Please visit and ask for Duncan by name.

Sasha likes patrolling the rooms -- climbing cat towers, investigating tunnels and boxes, and finding sunny windows to nap against.  She is a darling girl, a Snowshoe, 8 years of age and spayed, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Sasha was at another shelter and needed our help.  Please visit and ask for her by name.

Eloise is an endearing young girl who likes curling up in baskets for her naps. Exploring is one of her favorite activities, so bringing new items and boxes home gives her hours of pleasure. Eloise is a gorgeous Snowshoe & Siamese, 2 years of age, good with other cats, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue she and her babies were homeless. We placed them in a loving foster home where she raised them in peace and comfort. (Her babies are still in foster care, until old enough to be spayed/neutered too.)

Eloise , a sweet and gorgeous Snowshoe, and her two babies, need a foster home please.    If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Eloise was reportedly being exploited by a breeder for litter after litter of kittens to sell. Thankfully, that cycle has come to an end. She will soon be spayed and adopted into a loving forever home where she will be valued for her ability to love, not reproduce. Bauer Bauer Dylan Dylan Bauer and Dylan , baby brothers, love snuggling, sitting on laps, and giving people kitten kisses.  The boys are 4 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.  The boys, and two more siblings, were raised with their rescued mom since they were 3 days old in a wonderful foster home, socialized with cats, dogs, and birds.  Please consider adopting the boys together for a lifetime of love and companionship.

Damen snuggles at your side and falls asleep peacefully.  He is docile and undemanding, just happy to be your gentle companion.  Damen is an especially handsome Snowshoe, 6 years of age, neutered boy, good with other cats, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He needed us due to his previous owner's declining health.

At the time of rescue Lexy had painful burn marks across her whole back (from an unknown cause).  For many weeks now she has been treated by veterinarians and recovering well.  Lexy now has hair growing back and even her scarring is minimal.  Today, she triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Lexy loves to jump in laps for affection.  She enjoys napping in the coziest cat beds and looking out the window ("cat TV").  She is a gorgeous blend of many breeds -- perhaps Ragdoll, Siamese, and Snowshoe -- about 4 years of age and spayed.

There are shy, humble, unassuming, and well-behaved cats.  And then, on the other end of the spectrum, there's Devlin . Truly, he promises no dull moments!  He wants to get into everything, explore, and give his stamp of approval.  He is too strong-willed for most families, but in just the right home he will be cherished for his constant entertaining and singular behaviors.  His shenanigans would be fodder for daily YouTube videos! Devlin is a chocolate Siamese & Snowshoe mix, neutered boy, 5 years of age.  Please ask for him specifically by name when you visit Nevada SPCA.  He does not tolerate other cats well, so he is not in the free-roaming playrooms.

Update: Lilly has been adopted! Non-stop cuddling and playing is Lilly's aim. She has a sweet, vigorous purr, and we find ourselves holding her belly by our ears to hear her rhythmic satisfaction every time she is held. Lilly is still a kitten at about 8 months of age.  She is a Snowshoe and Siamese mix, spayed, and ready for adoption today in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Lilly does well with other cats too.  Because she is so affectionate it would be ideal if the other cat in the household enjoys engaging other felines too in play and snuggles. She needed us because her previous owners believed they were allergic to her. Like all cats, she needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection.

At first blush, Magumi seems to be a big, lazy boy. But this very attractive cat actually is quite meticulous when it comes to slowly and deliberately exploring rooms for cubby holes and cozy hiding places. He loves finding a secret place, as high up in the room as he can, to snuggle in for a catnap.  A multi-tiered cat tree would be heaven for him. Magumi is a sweetheart, though he gets fussy at times.  He is most likely a cross between a Maine Coon and a Snowshoe and he has deep blue eyes.  He is neutered and approximately 3 years of age. He needed us when his previous owner moved out of the country. Please ask for Magumi by name in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

Update: Bella was adopted on October 9th! Bella is a gorgeous 5-month old kitten with captivating blue eyes, a Snowshoe & Siamese mix, spayed, and awaiting a forever home. She is in a loving foster home and comes each Saturday to Nevada SPCA's headquarters in the hope of being adopted. At the time of rescue, Bella was in poor condition, riddled with infections and problems stemming from malnutrition and lack of care.  We had treatments provided for her, along with premium food, and she recovered beautifully. Bella craves gentle attention from people and she is compatible with other cats. Like all cats, she needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection. Bella is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats and kittens for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please ask for her by name.

Update: Vera & Lilly were adopted on September 14th! These stunningly beautiful young girls, Vera & Lilly , needed us due to their previous owner's financial hardship. The sisters are Siamese and Snowshoe mixes, spayed, 18 months of age, declawed, and so strongly bonded that it would be cruel to separate them. But while Vera , left, is outgoing and yearns for your affection, Lilly is quite bashful and enjoys hiding and finding dark, quiet places where she feels safe. With your patience and tenderness, Lilly will emerge some from her shell, but she may never be as engaging as her sister. Nevertheless, her gentle spirit is beautiful in its own right, and shy or not, she can make a wonderfully loving companion too. Medium-hairs, they will need weekly brushing, so please plan accordingly. Please also be sure to keep them safely indoors with you for their protection. Adopt Vera & Lilly and they will warm your heart during their lifetimes, and beyond.

Harley is a very lovable, dashingly handsome boy ready for adoption today. He is a Snowshoe mix with patches of dark and milk chocolate that make his blue eyes shine. He is neutered and approximately 5 years of age. Harley needed us when his previous owner died. He was originally taken to a government shelter, but then friends of the deceased rescued him from there and brought him to us. He reportedly has no bad habits and enjoys your gentle company. He springs to life for organic catnip. Harley is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. All await adoption into loving, indoor-only, forever homes.

Update: Cory was adopted on January 2nd! Cory's eyes are startlingly blue, and expressive, and he is eager to be with kind people who enjoy playing with him. He is a kitten, approximately 7 months young, a Snowshoe mix, neutered male, ready for adoption today in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms. Cory loves his toys. Please plan for daily playtime with him to keep him physically and mentally engaged. He enjoys other sweet cats. Like all of Nevada SPCA's rescued cats, Cory needs and deserves a strictly indoor-only home for his safety and protection.

Mr. Brown was adopted on December 31st! The ultimate truth is that not all humans have the ability to make lifetime commitments to those they love. When an animal, like Mr. Brown , is surrendered for being "too affectionate", it is a startling reminder to all of us how animals lose their homes and families out of no fault of their own. Blue-eyed and exceptionally handsome, Mr. Brown is most likely a Siamese and Snowshoe mix. He is medium-haired, neutered, and about 2 years young. Like all cats, it is critical he enjoys an indoor-only lifestyle. The dangers for cats outdoors are many, and violent death is the frequent outcome for those who wander outside. Mr. Brown is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Samson & Delilah were adopted on July 11th! Samson & Delilah are strongly bonded kittens, brother and sister, and they have never been apart. Since their rescue (victims of home foreclosure), they have been getting loving care and socialization in a foster home. They are now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Samson & Delilah have affectionate and playful personalities. They are Snowshoe Siamese, spayed/neutered, and approximately 3-4 months young. As with all of the rescued and adoptable cats, they seek caring owners who will make a lifetime commitment to keeping them as members of the family, strictly indoors for their safety and protection.
