Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Zoe was found by a man in the desert who was able to capture her and bring her to safety. We traced her microchip ID, but all efforts to reach her previous owner were not successful. Zoe is a wonderfully friendly German Shepherd, 1 year young, housetrained, and now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    While she adores people, she may need to be the only dog in the home. We are still learning about her and determining whether she will tolerate some dogs.

Maribel's eyes reveal so much pain and worry. We look forward to the day when she realizes she is safe and that she will never be hurt again. Maribel is a sensitive, young German Shepherd, 3 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her cruel past. Trust is not easy for Maribel . She imagines strangers disapprove of her and want to hurt her. Very experienced, adult-only home needed for her continuing improvement, and ideally an owner who has advanced dog training/behavior knowledge. Sarah , now healed, glows with hope!  She is a young, gorgeous German Shepherd, 1 year of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Sarah is eager to please and we believe she will pick up good behaviors quickly. She may be compatible with some dogs, though she may be too boisterous for others.  Sarah was found abandoned with a badly broken leg (presumably hit by a vehicle, but cause not known to a certainty).  Please visit and ask for Sarah by name.

Tenderheart's remarkable survival and ongoing recovery. Post 2 of 2 this morning of dogs surviving perilous starvation and ready for nurturing foster homes to continue their recoveries. Tenderheart was found abandoned in a crate without food or water for an unknown length of time. Most of her body mass was gone and you could see her every bone. Like Elsie, posted earlier this morning, we rushed Tenderheart into emergency care at a veterinary hospital to save her life. Tenderheart is eating premium, nutritious food well on her own. It will take many weeks to regain muscle and energy, which may happen best in the peace and comfort of a gentle foster home. Bismarck is a regal, intelligent boy who needs people to love.  He is a German Shepherd, good with kids, housetrained, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Bismarck's compatibility with other dogs is unknown (but he was reportedly raised with small dogs and had no contact with other canines).  We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity with strangers (particularly adult men).  German Shepherd knowledge is required for his adoption please.

Casper is an intelligent and boisterous youngster with a joyful spirit.  He is eager to please, but rowdy because he doesn't yet know good behaviors or what is expected of him. Casper needs kind, steady guidance and we believe he will learn quickly.  He is a handsome German Shepherd, 3 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help due to his ear infections. He has healed well and he's now ready to begin his new life.

Kayla , full of character and personality, would love to bestow her unconditional devotion on someone who dearly treasures her.  She is a German Shepherd, youthful in spirit at 9 years of age, spayed, good with kids, housetrained, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Kayla is compatible with dogs too, though picky about which ones she likes (and tends not to like those who try to sniff her).  German Shepherd knowledge is strongly preferred for her adoption please.

Finn shines when you tell him he's a fantastic boy.    He is 6 years of age, full of innocence, and overjoyed to have your attention and approval. Finn is a an especially attractive German Shepherd, neutered, housetrained, good with kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He was surrendered to another shelter (for "barking"), which in turn asked for our help because he is picky about dogs and intolerant of cats.    Please share Finn's picture and help find him a very loving, forever home.

Venus , a bright and joyful young German Shepherd, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We love her amiable spirit and she enjoys other friendly dogs.  German Shepherd knowledge needed for her adoption.  We rescued Venus from another shelter that asked for our help.

Captain , a broken-hearted 9-year-old German Shepherd, does not yet realize he is safe. We are working to boost his spirits with attention, treats, and reassurance.  He is neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  German Shepherd knowledge is strongly preferred for his adoption.  We rescued Captain from another shelter that asked for our help.

Duchess is a young German Shepherd with majestic beauty.  But she has no self-esteem because it is clear she has been abused.  Duchess wants to bond with people, but she's worried she's going to get hit.  Staff and volunteers are very patient with her and she relaxes and her fears subside.  She is 1 year of age and spayed, reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity.  Please help find Duchess a hero.

Sara is a benevolent girl who loves hugs, reassuring her that she is safe and being watched over.  She is calm-natured, good with other gentle dogs, and compatible with cats.  Sara is a plump German Shepherd, almost 9 years of age, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Sara lost much of her vision when her dry eye condition was untreated in her previous home.  She is now on daily eye-drops and feeling immensely better.  Very special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing her essence and kind spirit in this brand new portrait.

Dexter gives those he loves all of his loyalty.  He is a young, slender, and radiant German Shepherd, about 18 months of age, a neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  German Shepherd knowledge is needed for his adoption. Dexter is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained and eager to please.  He lost his home reportedly because he was 'too protective' of the family's children.  Dexter needs an experienced home where he understands his "job" is to be a loving companion & family member, not a guard dog.
