Duke of Earl , a 4-pound sweetheart, humbly asks for your consideration. He needs a forever home and someone to love. Sugarplum , a 5-pound, 12-year-old angel, has spent months learning to walk again. She loves being babied and sneaks doggie kisses on those who are kind to her. At the time of rescue, Sugarplum was paralyzed from massive head and spine trauma that reportedly somehow involved being thrown into a bathtub or bathroom wall. (The details were contradictory and pursued by other authorities.) Water therapy (walking in water, swimming) helped her use her legs again. Her head tilt remains. A very leisurely lifestyle is what she needs for continued comfort and well-being. Sugarplum likes other dogs, but they cannot jump on her or rough-house with her. Lana , 12, a tiny girl only weighing 5 pounds, is desperate for peace-of-mind. She is very head-shy and terrified that strangers will try to hurt her. When you compliment Marcy and tell her she's a lovely girl, she lifts her head and her eyes get big. We sometimes think her looks then translate as: "Really? Me?" Marcy is coming to understand that she is a wonder and worthy of immense love. Jericho is a soulful young boy who has healed well. He is very loving and outgoing with people he adores.    Jericho is a Chihuahua, 2 years of age, neutered and good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to injuries and bruising across his body from physical trauma. There were no puncture wounds or crushed bones (so no consistency with an animal attack or vehicle collision, respectively), and fears were that he had been beaten by human hand (but this remains unconfirmed). Regardless of what Jericho endured, he still believes in human goodness. He wants to know peace and serenity, belonging to someone who will always keep him safe and loved.

Delilah was found outside abandoned in a crate with a taped note saying: "She does not want love." Treasure is treasure, even if not appreciated as such by some. The reality is that Delilah is desperate for love. Delilah is deeply grateful for every kind word, gentle touch, and nutritious meal. She feels lost, unsure where she belongs, and we don't know what she has endured and witnessed. Admiral beams with kindness and realizes fortunes are turning his way. A few weeks ago he was reportedly abandoned at a school and ran inside the lunchroom. He was terrified and bit or nipped the teacher who captured him while he was running. Admiral is good-natured and thoughtful. Jules was perilously emaciated from starvation at the time of rescue, skin and bones and just 4.1 pounds. Mustang Sally is a tiny, 5-pound cutie with a fearless, giant-sized personality.    She loves being held in your arms, but when it's time to be put back down she mistakenly believes she can just leap out of your hands high above the ground. Everyone here is falling for her quirky charm. Tell her it's time to do something really fun and Mustang Sally will begin zipping around the room in anticipation and then bite her blanket and shake it.    Also, Mustang Sally eats her meals and treats, but only if you are watching. If you even look away, even for a second, she'll stop eating. Chopin , a pensive and sensitive youngster, longs for peace-of-mind and awaits adoption at Nevada SPCA. We rescued him from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown, except that he has endured trauma that has resulted in him fearing strangers and quick hand movements.  Chopin is an especially attractive Chihuahua, 1 year of age and neutered, good with other dogs.  He can reach his full loving potential in a gentle home with a stable lifestyle routine.

Gilbert likes to burrow under blankets to take his naps.  He is very sweet, gentle, and humble.  At the time of rescue he was found on a street corner with no sign of responsible ownership and suffering from an infection so severe his right eye could not be saved.  Gilbert is a tri-color Chihuahua, 8 years of age, neutered, good with other calm dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is still adjusting to the loss of his eye and screams if someone reaches for him too quickly on his blind side.  Please help find him a very patient, quiet, nurturing home so that he will only know love and kindness from now on.
