Brando , a charismatic boy with expressive eyes, wants to find his place in this chaotic world and reach his full loving potential. Brando is a Chihuahua & Beagle mix (15 pounds), 3 years young and neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.    We placed Brando with an easy-going dog for companionship and his fear melted away. He would love to join a family where he can be another dog's loyal brother.

Amy is blooming beautifully and on her way to reaching her full loving potential. Every day she builds a bit more confidence and self-esteem. Amy is an Agouti bunny, 2 years young and spayed, and ready for adoption in the Lovebug Room at Nevada SPCA . We rescued her from another shelter and suspect that she survived a loveless, neglectful home. At the time of rescue she was so timid she would freeze in place and refuse to move. Now, Amy explores her habitat with ease and hops up to new people she perceives as gentle to meet them.

Charles is healing and learning to trust. He now sits at our sides, accepts petting and kindness, and no longer fears every hand. But Charles carefully evaluates strangers and worries they have intentions to hurt him. We don't know what he endured, but suspect he sustained severe violence in a previous home. Charles is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix with golden eyes, 4 years of age and neutered, debuting for a hero adoption today at Nevada SPCA . He was at another shelter that asked for our help with his emotional needs.

Holly , a young girl steadily building self-esteem, is ready to bloom and reach her full loving potential.    She is learning that she is a dear treasure and worthy of love. Holly is a Toy & Terrier blend, 1 year of age and spayed, good with other dogs. and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    She was surrendered by previous owners who wanted her to have a better home.

Benji is now shining and on his way to reaching his full loving potential!  He is a boy with exceptional good looks, Heinz 57 with Terrier, 6 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Benji was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity and intolerance of strangers.  He has accepted the kindness of staff and volunteers very well. Benji can continue blooming in an experienced home with a steady lifestyle routine.

Bravo has not yet learned that he is magnificent and worthy of love.  He is surprised when people are nice to him and praise him with kind, sincere words.  Bravo is a young Corgi mix, 2 years of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

Maribel's eyes reveal so much pain and worry. We look forward to the day when she realizes she is safe and that she will never be hurt again. Maribel is a sensitive, young German Shepherd, 3 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her cruel past. Trust is not easy for Maribel . She imagines strangers disapprove of her and want to hurt her. Very experienced, adult-only home needed for her continuing improvement, and ideally an owner who has advanced dog training/behavior knowledge. Beau is happy when he knows you accept him and like being around him.  His expressive eyes always seem to reveal precisely what he's feeling.  Beau is a handsome youngster, a Retriever & Shepherd mix, neutered boy, just under 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help because he hasn't had proper leash training yet.  Please be willing and able to provide Beau with kind guidance and basic training so he can reach his full loving potential.

33 of the 35 Blond Angels were rescued in April. Two avoided capture and officers feared they would be preyed upon by coyotes on the vacated property and they kept attempting to save them at every opportunity. On May 3 the officers captured McCaine (posted last week) and on May 5 they finally captured Louden (pictured here). Louden is the only non-blond of the 35 Blond Angels. He has mostly charcoal coloration and gold eyes, and he's 3 years of age, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Louden is still exceptionally timid, but lets his caretakers handle him without fear of being nipped. This morning he jumped on one of his caretakers' laps for hugs. Everything is new for Louden and the others. They have never known a loving home before and need your tremendous patience as they develop emotionally and adjust to your lifestyle. McCaine is taking baby steps every day, improving and developing faster than expected. This morning he kissed his caretaker moments before this picture was taken. McCaine is the 34th of the 35 rescued Blond Angels. Most were rescued in April, but he and another evaded capture. Officers feared coyotes attacking them on the vacated property and continued efforts to save them at every opportunity. On May 3, McCaine was finally captured by the officers (and the 35th Blond Angel was captured too on May 5). As you may recall, the Blond Angels were saved from a home where their previous owners had been convicted of animal cruelty. Their emotional development is their biggest challenge, but each is gradually improving thanks to the dedication of everyone helping them (staff, volunteers, veterinarians, trainers, more). Knight is steadily building courage and self-esteem, and he's on his way toward reaching his loving potential.  Of the 33 dogs confiscated from squalor and horrors, he was in the most emotional distress and panicked whenever he was the focus of attention. Knight has now begun crawling in our laps, walking short distances on leash, and accepting care and kindness without freezing in fear. He is 3 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Sugar Ray is a fun, young Boxer mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is 1 year of age, neutered, and housetrained. Sugar Ray is used to getting everything his way and doesn't understand good manners yet. We strongly prefer adopting him to someone with dog training skills and knowledge so that he can reach his full loving potential.   We rescued him from a shelter that asked for our help because he is not compatible with other dogs.

Chopin , a pensive and sensitive youngster, longs for peace-of-mind and awaits adoption at Nevada SPCA. We rescued him from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown, except that he has endured trauma that has resulted in him fearing strangers and quick hand movements.  Chopin is an especially attractive Chihuahua, 1 year of age and neutered, good with other dogs.  He can reach his full loving potential in a gentle home with a stable lifestyle routine.

Ace , a handsome and hopeful Dachshund mix, is unrecognizable from when we rescued him 5 weeks ago.  A victim of abuse, he refused to let people touch him and his eyes were dulled, as if he had given up hope.  Ace is still afraid of strangers, but he's warming to people well and today he is able to debut for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Ace is 4 years of age, neutered, and good with other dogs.  Please help find an experienced home where his progress will continue and he reaches his full loving potential.

The power of a fresh start and knowing that someone believes in you.  When we rescued Baxter from another shelter he was terrified and it was clear he had endured years in a loveless, neglectful, and abusive home.  Baxter is a Shih-Tzu mix, 5 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is still fearful of being hurt, but making progress emotionally every day.  Baxter needs a hero who will help him continue to improve and reach his full potential.  Grooming courtesy of the very kind people at Hair of the Dog spa .

Hope needs a hero.  She reportedly came from a broken home, lost her right front leg (reportedly due to being struck by a car, but all that is known for certain is that she sustained massive trauma), and reportedly does not like men or children touching her.  Hope is a lovely Italian Greyhound mix, about 6 years of age, a spayed girl, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is housetrained and good with other dogs.  Hope adores women and bonds strongly to those who are kind to her.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these exceptional portraits to help showcase Hope and find her the forever home she needs to reach her full loving potential.

Ferdinand now approaches you gently and put his paws on your knee asking for affection.  For the past 6 weeks volunteers and staff have done beautifully proving to him that humans can be kind and worthy of trust, helping him triumph over severe abuse.  He's come so far that he is now ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Ferdinand is a Terrier mix with extraordinary good looks that include a leonine mane and copper eyes, and he is 5 years of age, neutered, and good with other friendly dogs.  Please help Ferdinand find a gentle, forever home where his emotional healing will continue so he can reach his full loving potential.

Ernie Fernando Garth Herman These young boys -- Ernie , Fernando , Garth , and Herman -- are 4 of the 10 Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes we recently rescued from a suspected backyard breeder.  All are gentle and timid and need much more socialization with people.  Ernie , Fernando , and Garth are junior puppies, just 9 months of age.  Herman is approximately 18 months.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Reno was at another shelter that asked for our help, in part because he had been found on the streets of Las Vegas and was severely underweight.  Reno is now eating premium food and bountiful treats, and the spark of life has come roaring back in his eyes!  He is chipper and cheery, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA, so ready to join a loving, forever home.  Reno is a Pointer mix, 2 years young and neutered. Squeaky toys are his favorite and immediately get his attention.

Charlie is an earnest boy who must wonder if he dares to let himself become hopeful again.  He was so matted, and likely unloved, at the time of rescue that we had to have his coat completely shaved off to give him a fresh start.  Charlie is a Miniature Poodle (21 pounds, larger than a Toy Poodle), about 7 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Charlie loves other dogs and he is beginning to believe in people.  An experienced home is needed for his continuing progress.  Please help Charlie find a hero to help him reach his full loving potential.
