I am not an "Easter bunny".

Jolly Roger is an incredibly cute and engaging young rabbit now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is a blend of several breeds, including English Spot, and he's just under a year of age, and now neutered. At the time of rescue this sweet boy was found with a cat or dog collar embedded into his neck.  Jolly Roger is quiet-natured and suited best for a gentle home environment.  He needs to be indoors-only and you can use baby gates to let him explore rooms while safely keeping him away from electrical cords and other dangers. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these remarkable portraits to help Jolly Roger find a loving, forever home. Jolly Roger needs to be loved each and every Easter.  Please only consider him for adoption if you can make a lifelong commitment to him being a cherished and value member of your family.

I idolize my mommy.

Jill (left) thinks the world of her mother, named Mystic , and feels most secure when right behind her or at her side.  They want and need to stay together forever because life has more meaning and joy when they face the world as a team.  The girls are Dwarf mixes.  Jill is just 4-5 months of age, a "kit" (baby rabbit), and already slightly larger than her blue-eyed mom who is 18 months of age.  They are now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing the beautiful spirits of mom and daughter in this portrait.

She didn't care that coyotes might have killed us?

Pan-Am & Jet Set are gorgeous, confident girls  who need to find a home together.  They are strongly bonded soul-mates. The girls are Lop bunnies, about 2-3 years of age, spayed, and available for adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue their previous owner was planning to abandon them outdoors to fend for themselves.  But they are domesticated rabbits, completely dependent on human care for survival. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for beautifully photographing them to help them find a loving, forever home.

Can I share my gentle soul with you?

Image
Hyacinth's affection for people is illustrated well in how she likes to follow you, hopping from room to room.  (Please use baby gates to keep her away from electrical cords.) Hyacinth is a beautiful young Mini Rex with the softest coat and sweetest personality.  She is now spayed, about 18 months of age, and ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. Hyacinth was rescued from an abandoned, foreclosed home. Her lovely portrait is courtesy of the wonderful people at Pet'ographique .

Morrissey would love to leap into your life and loving home.

Image
Morrissey's outgoing personality and very handsome appearance has been captured wonderfully in these beautiful portraits courtesy of Pet'ographique.   While adventurous, Morrissey likes to get completely relaxed for his naps, stretching his body out on his bunny condo loft.  Morrissey is a Lop & Lionhead mix rabbit, neutered boy, 2 years young, ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. We rescued Morrissey after his previous owner abandoned him in the middle of the night on a sidewalk.

Please let me always be with my mommy.

Her son, Rutherford , has a rich orange color and he is about 7 months of age.  Please visit and ask for them by name.  This beautiful portrait is courtesy of the compassionate people at Pet'ographique .

Doesn't every home need a princess?

Image
The jeweled crown Pet'ographique included in Phoebe's portrait fits this princess beautifully.  She asks only to be adored and loved. She hopes for a compassionate home for her twilight years and she gets along well with other calm rabbits. Please ask for Phoebe by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

This fun-loving boy with very striking coloring was playfully named Banana Nut , but as time has gone by we have found him to be a very well-mannered, intelligent, and noble bunny.  Banana Nut is a handsome Harlequin rabbit, neutered, about 5-6 years of age, ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.  This good-looking portrait is courtesy of Pet'ographique to help him get adopted into a loving home.

Mon Cherie, sweetheart English Spot bunny for adoption.

Image
Mon Cherie , beautifully photographed by Pet'ographique .  She is an outgoing young bunny who enjoys kicking up her heels and roaming indoors, which can be done safely with the use of baby gates and x-pens (to keep her away from electrical cords and other household dangers).  Mon Cherie is an English Spot rabbit, spayed girl, about 18 months of age, available for adoption at Nevada SPCA in the Lovebugs Room. We rescued this sweetheart from another shelter.

Help me realize my full loving potential, please.

Matterhorn is a young New Zealand mix bunny with a blooming personality. After being abandoned on the streets, he was understandably wary of people.  But now is he beginning to appreciate kind, gentle human companionship. He is about 18 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room. Matterhorn's beautiful portraits are courtesy of Pet'ographique to help him find a forever home.

My near-starvation is becoming just a distant memory now.

We rescued Heathrow from a city park known for a large coyote population.  He was emaciated and starving. Domesticated bunnies cannot survive on their own, yet they are released in countless numbers into parks and golf courses when they are no longer wanted, perishing to the elements or becoming an easy meal to a coyote or bird of prey. Heathrow is one of the lucky ones to have survived such reckless treatment and he is now in the safety of Nevada SPCA.  But he needs a loving, forever home of his own. Heathrow is an American breed rabbit, neutered boy, 1 year of age.  He is well-behaved and very sweet and handsome. June is Adopt-A-Lovebug month at Nevada SPCA, so his adoption fee has been reduced to $20 (from $35) and he is ready for adoption today.   Please visit and ask for him by name.

How do I find a loving, forever home?

Image
Paddy is a warm, engaging, inquisitive youngster ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a chocolate American rabbit, neutered boy, 18 months of age. Paddy was rescued from the mean streets, after being abandoned there to fend for himself.  He is now though safely with us, enjoying his daily salad greens (and plenty of Timothy hay) and human companionship so that his past hunger and loneliness are just fading memories. Please ask for Paddy by name in the Lovebugs Room. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for donating this stunning portrait of Paddy to help him get adopted.

What did dumping me teach the child?

Image
Countless innocent animals, like Scarlet , get kicked out of families in order to punish children.  It is a common problem with tragic implications. Caring for animals and making them members of the family, instead of using them as toys, is an adult responsibility. Having children sometimes assist in caretaking duties can be reasonable, but placing the entire responsibility on a minor surely is unconscionable. Then imagine the sense of failure and frustration the child feels when the animal is kicked out of the family.  Just as devastating, the kids are taught that animals are disposable and that they can be used as pawns in family squabbles. Scarlet is now ready for a proper, responsible home where her life will not be treated so recklessly.  She is a beautiful Dwarf & Marten mix rabbit, spayed girl, about 18 months young. Scarlet adores attention and she has a graceful confidence. Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

My emotional walls are coming down.

We admire Sunset's progress with learning to trust people again.  This is a slow, steady, beautiful thing to watch. She is a gorgeous young girl we rescued from a park.  She had been abandoned there to fend for herself, like countless others, but as you know, domesticated rabbits cannot survive on their own.  Many die from starvation, or get struck by vehicles as they seek out someone to feed them, or they lure coyotes onto golf courses and neighborhood parks for easy meals. Sunset is a Satin mix with a tender nature.  She is about one year of age, now spayed and ready for adoption. Please visit Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room and ask for this sweetheart by name.

I was saved by the kindness of strangers.

Lara was found by a caring couple after she had been abandoned in Red Rock. Defenseless, she would not have lasted long with the elements or the coyotes, so we are deeply grateful to the couple for making the effort and taking the time to capture her and bring her to safety. Lara is an English Spot mix, spayed, about 2 years young. She delights in being held and adored by gentle people. Like all domesticated bunnies, Lara needs an indoor-only where she will be safe and comfortable, and valued as a cherished member of the family. Please ask for her by name in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

Blue-eyed Baby Boys

Image
Dartmouth Bowie Dartmouth and Bowie are social, friendly, cute baby boys ("kits") who would love a forever home where they are showered with attention and loving care. They appear to be combinations of multiple breeds, including Hot Tot & New Zealand & Dutch.  They are neutered, about 5-6 months of age. At the time of rescue these two boys and 8 other bunnies had been stuffed inside a small bird cage and abandoned.  Fortunately, all 10 rabbits survived. Dartmouth and Bowie can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong companionship and love.
