The evolution of a smile -- 4 faces of Thor.

Image
Thor, 9:45am, "Am I going to be okay?  Is anyone going to hurt me?" Thor, 9:48am, "You're taking my picture and a smile will help me find a loving home?" Thor, 9:49am, "How's this?" Thor, 9:50am, "Here's my biggest smile!" We want to share with you the awakening of a spirit -- Thor's spirit -- in just the five minutes he spent with us getting his portrait this morning. Thor needed us when his previous owner went into hospice and passed away. Thor is a snow-white American Bulldog mix, about 4 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. His world has been turned upside-down and he's no longer sure where he belongs.  That overwhelming feeling of being lost, adrift from where he expected to be, is almost universal with rescued animals.  One of our most important roles at Nevada SPCA is assuring Thor and others they are indeed safe and can begin to hope. Thor is reported...

Bobbie Sox has the face of an angel.

Bobbie Sox has the most luminous smile and the face of an angel. She is very shy with new people, but incredibly devoted once she trusts you, and then she wants to be right at your side or in your lap.  Bobbie Sox adores other dogs!  She enjoys playing catch with her favorite ball and chasing birds out of the backyard.  Bobbie Sox is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Bully & Retriever, about 7-8 years of age, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She needed us when her previous owner passed away.

I was suddenly homeless and alone with nowhere to go.

Sassy is a 14-year-old angel who needed us when her previous owner passed away and she had nowhere to go.  She is an elegant, mellow senior, a medium-hair tortoiseshell, spayed girl, who loves to snuggle.  Sassy is very enthusiastic for her wet food (canned cat food) and jumps in your lap to be brushed and spoken to gently.  She gets along well with other cats too.  Please help us find a hero for Sassy .  She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Does anyone want my unconditional love?

Durbin is a loyal, well-behaved girl who needed us when her previous owner passed away.  She loves going for walks, playing catch, and sitting pleasantly at your side.  Durbin is a plump, medium-size Shepherd mix, about 8 years of age, spayed, housetrained, and compatible with cats, dogs, and mature kids.  She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please help us find Durbin a wonderful new loving, forever home.

Superstars need angels and heroes too.

Superstar is a tiny little buttercup who likes to rest in your hands and give you doggie kisses.  She is a blond Chihuahua, spayed girl, about 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Superstar gets along beautifully with cats, dogs, and mature kids.  She is very gentle and just wants peace and love.  Superstar needed us when her previous owner passed away and she had nowhere to go.  Despite a birth defect that bows her back legs, she can walk short distances.  Please help us find this angel a hero.

Where do I go now?

Beau's owner passed away and you can see that his heart is broken. He doesn't know life without his mom, nor how he is supposed to fit in.  But we have Beau in the courtyard right now playing with two other dogs (Derby & Dazzler) and every one is working on keeping his spirits up.  Beau is a handsome Australian Shepherd & Collie mix, about 9 years of age, neutered boy, gentle and humble, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Beau's background is mostly unknown, but we know he led a relaxed, calm lifestyle with an older woman who adored him.   Please help us find Beau a wonderful new home.

I know I'm safe when you hold me.
