Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Kira is a very gentle soul debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a cute Poodle mix, great with other dogs, about 7 years of age and spayed.  Kira was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her ear infection and obesity.  Her infection has been treated and we have her on a weight management diet.  Kira weighs 26 pounds, so table scraps are out of the question, and she needs to gradually and safely reduce weight by sticking to nutritious dog food and taking very short, frequent walks.  Kira is an angel and we ask for your help in finding her a responsible, stable home where she will get the loving care and attention she needs.

Update: Babe was adopted on January 15th! Babe needed rescue when her elderly owners could no longer care for her. While she was loved, her care had clearly slipped, most noticeably with her weight and exercise as she became very obese. Babe has an angelic personality though and her eyes reveal a very loving soul. She is a senior Australian Cattle Dog, spayed female, approximately 8-10 years of age. Babe is compatible with other calm dogs and she debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She has skin tags, moles, and fatty tumors across her body, all deemed harmless (unless they grow or change), so they do not need removal. Please consult with your veterinarian for guidance on helping Babe safely and properly lose weight and be sure to plan on a more low-key lifestyle for her.

Update: Frances was adopted on November 30th! Frances glows with joy! This big girl has an even larger, more robust personality and super sweet nature. Frances is a gorgeous Siberian Husky with engaging blue eyes. She is spayed and about 3 years of age. She was rescued dodging traffic on a busy street and was almost struck numerous times before jumping in a kind woman's back seat into safety. Frances is recovering well from severe neglect. She is beyond being pleasantly plump and qualifies as being obese. She needs to safely and properly lose weight for better health. Please consult with your veterinarian for guidance so that you do not accidentally put her on harmful crash diet. Siberian Husky knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.
