Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Fanny wants to welcome you home every day with this beaming smile! She is a very kind and thoughtful girl, about 4 years of age, a slender blend of Retriever and Shepherd with golden eyes, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Fanny is housetrained and good with other friendly dogs. She was "unwanted" -- handed from person to person who failed to make a lifetime commitment to her.

Gigi Grant Tarzan Gigi , Grant , and Tarzan are 3 of the 14 rescued Chinchillas available for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    All are friendly, recovering well from neglect, and about 8 years of age.    We are seeking knowledgeable, responsible homes where they will be treasured for life, and safe. (They are from a group of 24 chinchillas we rescued who had been exploited for breeding.) More details on the 24.

Kerry & Terry , young Tiger Oscars, swim up to you and listen to you talk or sing to them.  They are social and intelligent fish, approximately 3 years of age, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. We have not been able to determine their genders yet.  They were surrendered for getting irritable with each other in a small tank in their previous home, but here at the shelter in a large tank they get along very well.  Their ideal new owners will have knowledge about Tiger Oscars, a 100-gallon tank with a strong filtration system, and the willingness and ability to make a lifetime commitment to their loving care and safety. (Tiger Oscars have lifespans approximately 10-12 years.)

Aurora Summer Aurora and Summer are 2 of the 15 rescued kittens ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Aurora was found in a bush with injuries consistent with an attack by another animal.  We rushed her to a veterinary hospital for emergency care, and thanks to tender care and healing in a foster home, she has made a full recovery.  Aurora likes playing with other cats, following her foster mom around the house, chasing the laser light, and falling asleep on your shoulder.  Aurora is 3 months of age and spayed. Summer is also 3 months of age and spayed.  She is incredibly affectionate and craves belly tickles.  Like Aurora , Summer enjoys playing with kittens and adult cats.

Roland Gwen Liam Penelope Michelle Oscar These six adorable babies -- Roland , Liam , Gwen , Penelope , Michelle , and Oscar -- debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are good-natured, playful puppies, now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. At the time of rescue they were newborns, discovered without their mother. Since then they have been wonderfully raised and socialized in a loving foster home. We believe they are a blend of Labrador Retriever and other Sporting breeds, likely to grow to large size. Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship.

Alex Janet Mary Beth Savannah Wyland These 5 zany little angels -- Alex , Janet , Mary Beth , Savannah , and Wyland -- debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  All are playful and affectionate, small Heinz 57s (cute blends of Terrier, Chihuahua, and other breeds), now 3 months of age, and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Alex and Wyland are boys.  Janet , Mary Beth , and Savannah are girls.  They were found motherless in the backyard of an abandoned house.  Please consider adopting a pair for lifetime companionship.

Sonny is comfortable being cradled in kind arms.  He is an adorable, playful baby boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sonny is a Chihuahua mix (expected to remain small in size), 3 months of age and neutered, and great with other dogs.  He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his birth defect, a permanently dislocated knee in one of his hind legs.  Sonny walks and plays without interruption and surgery is not needed at this time (and may never be needed, but please have your veterinarian monitor his development through the years).

Giovanni wants someone to commit to him for life.  He is only 18 months of age, but he has already lost at least two homes (first purchased off an internet classified ads web site, then from a home where he lived in a garage and did not get along with the family's older dog).  Giovanni is a very attractive Lhasa-Poo, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He reportedly knows how to use a doggie door and he needs regular professional grooming.  Please ask for Giovanni by name when you visit.
