Aristotle

Image
Aristotle doesn't just want to be a good boy. He wants to know why a behavior is good. He is a brilliant boy and he thrives with respect and kind guidance. Aristotle is a handsome German Shepherd, 4 years of age and neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help because he is picky about which dogs he likes.

Foxy

Image
Foxy , 13, is an intelligent, well-behaved girl asking for a peaceful home where she will have someone appreciative to love. Foxy is a lovely blend of Aussie Cattle Dog & Shiba Inu. She is housetrained, spayed, and good with cats, dogs, and kids, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Foxy is terrified of bikes and skateboards, perhaps due to a past trauma, and needs a home where these pieces of equipment are not operated in her presence. She needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship.

Adorable Border Collie mix puppies debuting for adoption today!

Image
Chairman Cosmo Pokey Shayla Shayla and her three baby brothers ( Chairman , Cosmo , and Pokey ) have been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home.  Their foster parents describe them as wonderfully loving and rambunctiously playful. The four puppies are Border Collie mixes, now 4 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection. At the time of rescue they were at another shelter that asked for Nevada SPCA's help due to their very young age. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship.

You saved me with only minutes to spare!

Oliver is a good-natured, brilliant youngster who so longs to feel that he belongs to someone who adores him.  He is a handsome Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years young, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Oliver is shy with new people and in new situations, but devoted to those he knows and trusts.  We rescued this sweet boy from another shelter just in the nick of time!  Please ask for Oliver by name when you arrive.  Border Collie or Shepherd knowledge is preferred for his adoption.

How do I find a human who will not quit me?

Raven is a gorgeous, devoted girl with many tremendous qualities, despite having been failed repeatedly by past owners.  She loved them unconditionally, but they rejected her, and so it's no surprise that she now may have separation anxiety, fearful of abandonment forever when you leave her sight.  There are no instant fixes for separation anxiety, but with time and a stable routine, and possibly crate-training, great improvements can be made.  Raven is a German Shepherd with a majestic appearance, about 6 years of age, spayed, good with cats and dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please help Raven find a hero.

The radiant Sadie!

Image
Sadie's radiance is brilliantly captured by Pet'ographique in this stunning portrait to help her find a loving, forever home.  Sadie is an intelligent Australian Cattle Dog mix, spayed girl, about 6 years of age, and she enjoys other sweet dogs.  Please come meet and adopt Sadie at Nevada SPCA.  She has been here for months, an overlooked hidden treasure, and she is trying to patiently await someone special so she can join their family.

I brighten every day with my sunny glow.

Super lovable and cheery, Maddy is a dream dog in so many ways. We admire her innocent joy and Lassie-like smile. Maddy is a lovely Shepherd mix debuting today for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is a spayed girl, approximately 7 years of age.  She is reportedly housetrained.  Maddie is all about people.  Here, she has been fine with neutered male dogs her size, but she was surrendered due to being picky about which dogs she tolerates. We hope you consider her and spend time with her in our adoption courtyard, letting her personality shine.

I need a new loving home, please.

Update: Zeke was adopted on February 2nd! Zeke is an intelligent, noble boy with striking good looks. He is an Australian Cattle Dog, neutered, about 7 years of age, debuting today for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Zeke is well-behaved and knows several basic training commands.  He is reportedly housetrained too.  He is fine with most dogs, especially female dogs, but reportedly can get jealous of other dogs when he seeks attention for himself. He is smart and needs exercise for his brain as well as his body.   Please include him in daily activities, take him for walks, and engage him in playtime. We rescued Zeke from a government shelter that asked for our help because of being so full.  He was reportedly surrendered there when his owner moved and could not find housing that would include him.  (Please note though that many apartments and rental houses are now accepting medium size dogs like Zeke , and larger, because of the economic crisis).

I am a world-class snuggler!

Update: Funyon was adopted on August 18th! Despite being medium-sized, Funyon would love nothing more than to be a lap dog. She craves cuddling, soaking up affection and gaining peace-of-mind. Funyon has a quiet nature and she is drawn most to soft-spoken people. She is a Border Collie mix, spayed female, about 3 years young. We rescued Funyon from another shelter that had run out of room to keep her. She is fine with other dogs and needs daily exercise for her mind and body. Funyon debuts for adoption today.

Both my mind and body need regular exercise.

Update: Daisy was adopted on August 10th! Daisy is a smart, gorgeous young girl who we rescued from another shelter. She is an Australian Cattle Dog, spayed, one year of age. Herding breed dogs, like Daisy , are known for their exceptional intelligence. So, besides walks and daily playtime, please be sure to plan on engaging her mind too with games and activities. Daisy is compatible with other friendly dogs. Herding dog knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.

I am a quick learner and I just need good guidance from you.

As a herding breed dog, who are known for their brain-power, please plan for regular playtime, walks, and other family activities to keep her mentally stimulated. Herding breed knowledge and/or experience is preferred. Bobee debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Tubba-Love was adopted on August 24th! Tubba-Love is a baby pot belly pig, adorable beyond words. He has a colorful personality and loves people, sneaking treats, going for walks in his harness (he is already housetrained), and living the good life in the air-conditioned indoors. Tubba-Love is approximately 5-6 months young. He was neutered last week, recovered well, so he is now ready for adoption. He is being socialized in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA. The cats do not mind him -- he only weighs 30 pounds, so he's not that much larger than the heftier cats. But this small size will not last. He's on his way to well over 100 pounds in adulthood as he grows during the next two years. Pot belly pig breeders frequently deceive buyers into believing that the pigs can be starved to remain small. What a repugnant notion - starving an animal to go against his or her nature - and it is also untrue. There is no doubt whatsoever that Tubba-Love will...
