I am a people-oriented young boy.

Update: Vitality was adopted on November 11th! Vitality is one of the rare guinea pigs we rescue who prefers the company of humans to his own species. In fact, he needs and wants to be the only guinea pig vying for your attention. We have tried to find him a brother here to bond with, but he was not a bit interested and instead showed aggression to them. But people he adores! You can hear him purr when he is cozy in your hands or under your chin. Vitality is a year-old guinea pig with stunning tortoiseshell coloring. Please ask for Vitality by name at the headquarters if you seek a single pig who cherishes human company.

Our little "popcorning" hops occur when we are especially excited.

Update: Elvis & Moe were adopted on September 22nd! Elvis & Moe are exceptionally handsome Abyssinian guinea pigs with sweet natures. They are strongly bonded brothers and want to remain together forever. The boys are approximately 3 years of age, which is still relatively young for guinea pigs who generally live for 6 or 7 years. Once they get to know you, they will whistle in glee when you come, especially if they think you may have some fresh greens for them. The popcorn-hops are super cute and occur occasionally when they are particular joyful. Elvis & Moe are a bit hand shy at first, probably due to not being handled much in their previous home. But they are warm-hearted once they relax and trust you. We rescued the boys (and their brother Rodney) after their owner threw them away in a small box covered in mites. We gave each a few weeks of medical treatment and all made a full recovery from the mites. Elvis & Moe debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Parsley is my favorite food.

Update: Lucille was adopted on September 8th! Gentle. Adorable. Sweet. Friendly. Social. Lucille is a young lovebug with an outgoing nature. She is an American guinea pig, about 18 months of age. Lucille has very striking chocolate and white coloring and her eyes are quite expressive. Lucille would love to have a sister. If you have a female guinea pig who needs a lifelong companion, please visit Lucille and we can arrange a meeting between the two to ensure they are compatible. Please remember the many domesticated species besides cats and dogs who become homeless and need rescue. At Nevada SPCA we generally have at least 15 species of domesticated companion animals in need of new, loving homes.

Will you be my special one?

Maddie is an angelic young guinea pig with the cutest baby-face. Maddie is a very friendly American breed and 18 months of age. She loves her daily veggies, and especially adores parsley. Guinea pigs frequently live for 7 years or more, so besides finding a committed owner who will make her a member of the family, she would love to bond with another female guinea pig to be her lifemate. If you have a female guinea pig and would like to introduce her to Maddie , our staff will be happy to help you with the introduction to ensure they will get along. The ideal owner for Maddie will also provide a hideaway for her in a well-ventilated cage and allow her daily playtime and exercise in a safe "pocket-pet proofed" pen.

I am a baby who needs tender care.

Java is a perfectly precious baby guinea pig. She is 5 weeks of age and now ready for adoption to an experienced, quieter home. Java and her mom (who was pregnant) and her father, were all thrown out of their previous family. The only reason we could get from the owners was that they did not want to "deal with" babies. We asked why then would they keep an adult male and adult female together . . . to which there was no answer. Now though, Java has a golden opportunity for an exceptional home. We only want and seek loving, very committed homes for the rescued animals. You can meet and adopt Java in Nevada SPCA's Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue Room today.

I enjoy cuddling.

Update: Phyllis was adopted on June 30th! Phyllis is the cutest little "butter bean" -- a tiny ball of love. She is a young female guinea pig, with a cream & white coat, about 18 months of age. She is very affectionate with gentle people. Her other passion in life is her daily veggies -- she sings for them when she sees her salad bowl coming! Phyllis was found stuffed inside an otherwise emptied box of animal crackers. There was no note, no explanation, and no water. Thankfully, she was not thrown away accidentally, but instead picked up by someone who realized a tiny little life was inside. She is now thriving and ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue Room.

Guinea pigs like me have a world of love to share.

Update: Jillie was adopted on June 20th! Jillie is a friendly, young American breed guinea pig with gorgeous chestnut & butterscotch coloring. She came to us for rescue and recovery following severe neglect in her previous home that had left her emaciated, and her feet were in poor condition. Jillie has bounced back beautifully, thanks to loving care from Nevada SPCA's staff in the Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue Room. Jillie is approximately 18 months of age. She is not yet matched up with another female -- guinea pigs are very social animals -- so if you have a single female at home who needs a sister, Jillie may be a good match. Or consider adopting her and another female at Nevada SPCA and the staff will assist you with bonding them properly.
