Leon

Image
Leon , a youngster so grateful for kindness and care, is changing the way he views and understands people. Weeks ago Leon was found frightened in a family's garage, ill and neglected, trying to find shelter. Since then he has recovered well. We have Leon on a premium meal plan and shaved away all of his knots and tangles. He is bonding here well with people and dogs. Leon is now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a Lhasa Apso & Maltese mix, 2 years of age, and eager to have someone to love unconditionally.

Edwin

Edwin is very sweet and he is grateful for all kindness.  He is an earnest boy, a Chihuahua, 7 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.   Edwin is good with dogs and kids, plus housetrained too.  He is 1 of 36 rescued Chihuahuas (or Chihuahua mixes) awaiting loving forever homes.

Stan

Image
Stan , so grateful to be healed and safe, runs to new people to welcome them into his playroom, then leans his head up to make it easier for them to pet him. Stan is a charming lynx point Siamese, 3 years young, fine with other cats, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue he had open wounds on his face, neck, and front right leg. The veterinarian who treated him said the injuries were consistent with similar severe attacks from dogs. Stan had been on the streets, trying to fend for himself. The great comfort and safety of being exclusively indoors is the life that Stan needs from now on. Please share his picture and help find him a wonderful home.

Gertie

Image
Gertie , a bubbly young girl who likes covering your face and neck with kisses of gratitude, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a small Chow Chow (believed to be at least 3/4 Chow Chow), 2 years of age and spayed, and good with other dogs.  Gertie was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her severe neglect and inward-folding eyelashes in her left eye. (We had entropion surgery provided for her at a local hospital and she has recovered very well.)  Please visit and ask for Gertie by name.

Misty

Pregnant Charlotte urgently needs a foster hero!

Image
Charlotte could give birth at any moment. Foster hero very urgently needed please! If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person. Charlotte was rescued this afternoon from the same home and squalor where Lilly and her 8 puppies were rescued from yesterday. ( Lilly and her babies were posted here on Facebook earlier today .) The officer who captured Charlotte believes she saved the life of Lilly's 9th baby, a boy named Aspen, keeping him warm last night. Aspen was captured today and we reunited him with Lilly and his siblings a few minutes ago. Charlotte is about 18 months young. She is believed to be one of Lilly's daughters from a previous pregnancy. Like her mom, Charlotte is medium-sized, gentle, and extremely grateful for kindness. The officer believes that Lilly and Charlotte were surviving without dog food by eating whatever they could find in trash cans, yards, and in the nearby desert. We're so thankful that all are now sa...

Princess

Image
Princess , a teenager, likes being held and complimented and reassured. It looks like she has a pouty lip, but this is only because she has no teeth left. She is calm-natured and grateful for every bit of kindness.    Princess is a Toy Poodle, spayed girl, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    She was rescued from a dangerously busy parking lot with no sign of responsible ownership. Nevada SPCA's adoption hours are 10am-2pm. New Year's Day adoption hours are 10am-5pm.

Caden

Image
Caden , a polite boy with quiet strength, reminds us that every single day is precious. He needs a hero for his final months. We found Caden abandoned in a parking lot in very poor condition.    He is grateful for all acts of kindness, including all meals, treats, and reassuring words and touches.    A veterinary hospital ran tests and determined that Caden has cancer and it has spread throughout his body. But there are no indications that he is suffering, so we were advised to find him a gentle and comfortable home for best possible quality of life for his time left.    If you are willing to foster or adopt Caden , please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for DJ. Thank you.
