Joey

Image
Joey , 9, a noble and poised boy, is wonderfully gentle and so grateful for kindness. Shortly after his rescue (he had been at another shelter and run out of time or space), he greeted volunteers and staff in our courtyard, smiling and running into each person's arms with gratitude.    Joey's body and face resemble a Yellow Labrador Retriever in almost every way, but his distinct ears give him a look all his own. He is neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.   We believe he has the temperament to be great with mature kids.

Dimitri needs a foster home please.

Image
Dimitri , 8 weeks of age, was found in a shallow ditch under a block wall, seemingly trying to find shelter from the desert heat. He is grateful for care, kindness, nutritious meals, and clean water. He is one of a dozen rescued motherless kittens already today who need loving foster homes please. Also in need of a foster hero is a mother cat and her 1-week-old newborns.    If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren.

Elsie needs a foster hero please.

Elsie's remarkable survival and ongoing recovery. Post 1 of 2 this morning of dogs surviving perilous starvation and ready for nurturing foster homes to continue their recoveries. Elsie can now lift her head and even stand up for short periods of time without assistance. She is exceptionally docile and grateful for every single bit of kindness and reassurance. At the time of rescue Elsie was found so emaciated she could not even sit up. We rushed her to an animal hospital and she received intravenous fluids for several days while curled up in a soft dog bed. Elsie is now eating wet food and drinking water on her own. She cannot yet walk.     Elsie's recovery will take many weeks and we believe she will recover best in a peaceful, comfortable home environment. If you can foster Elsie , please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for DJ. Or please share this to post to help find her a foster hero. Thank you. Elsie , 10...

Teddy Bear

Image
Teddy Bear is a docile, lovable boy who is grateful for all kindness.    He is a well-behaved, small (17 pounds) Heinz 57 with Spaniel, Terrier & Toy, about 4 years of age, neutered, housetrained, and good with other friendly dogs. Teddy Bear’s previous owner surrendered him to another shelter for reportedly having a “seizure”. We have seen no signs of seizure activity and veterinarians remind us that often seizures are the result of ingesting something toxic in the home. Nevertheless, we want to share all we know, including the possibility that he may have epilepsy and another seizure (or seizures) in his life. Fortunately, anti-seizure medication is generally highly effective and inexpensive. Please share Teddy Bear's picture and help find him a hero.  He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
