Frieda , a beautiful soul, enjoys resting in your lap while you brush her or talk sweet.  She is a gentle calico, 5 years of age and spayed, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Frieda needed us when her previous owner was moved into hospice.  Please visit and ask for her by name.

Stella , a gentle girl with ocean-blue eyes, appreciates every act of kindness.  She is a Siamese & Snowshoe, 9 years of age and spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Stella adores other cats and seeks those who will snuggle with her in cat beds.  At the time of rescue Stella was found abandoned in a crate in a parking lot without food, water, or protection from the summer sun.

Sunshine , gentle and earnest, triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .   She is a Shih-Tzu & Poodle mix, 1 year of age, good with other dogs, and now spayed. Sunshine's "before" picture from the time of her rescue is too shocking and upsetting to share (especially since many children and young people follow our posts). Her matting was so extreme that one of her hind legs was tangled and unusable in a giant knot and both of her eyes were severely infected.    Now, after 3 months of recovery, Sunshine is unrecognizable from the time of rescue. Her hope and will to live have returned and she asks for someone gentle and patient to dearly treasure her.

Reese , 12, a gentle calico with a beautiful soul, enjoys being in your lap, making "happy feet" on cozy blankets, and living a drama-free and leisurely lifestyle.  Reese is good with people and cats, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  She was surrendered by her previous owners due to their financial hardship.

Mary Ann is a gentle, thoughtful, golden-hearted young girl who appreciates every kind word and touch. She was found abandoned in the desert with no sign of responsible ownership. A man was able to capture her and bring her to safety. Mary Ann is a medium-size, blond Heinz 57 with a Corgi-like body and unique face. She is 1 year of age, good with other dogs, and now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

Gorda , 12, a social butterfly, is happy when around people and dogs, but miserable and distressed when alone.  We strongly prefer finding Gorda a home where she will have the companionship of at least one other dog.  Gorda is a tiny, rotund Chihuahua, well-behaved, spayed, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is housetrained & crate-trained and compatible with cats too. Sitting in your lap is one of Gorda's favorite activities.  She needed us when her previous owner moved away without her.

Maya , 13, a gentle soul, likes being cozy on very soft pillows and plush blankets.    She is a lovely blond medium-hair with freckled skin always giving her natural "eyeliner", a spayed girl, fine with other calm cats, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. New Year's Day adoption hours: 10am-5pm. Maya was surrendered on New Year's Eve because her previous owner's new boyfriend was allergic to her. Maya deserves better. We hope you will help her find a hero who will never fail her.

Jamie, so fortunate to be alive and thriving, is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. A couple hiking in the desert were surprised to find her. She came directly to them pleading for help. Jamie had multiple puncture wounds on her face and body, along with hair loss, consistent with fighting off animals attacking her. Jamie wants only the peaceful life, indoors, from now on. She is gentle and humble, a torbie shorthair, 4 years of age and spayed, and fine with other calm cats.

Phoebe , 14, is intrigued by flowing water. She never misses the chance to intently watch you run the faucet and pour fresh water into her bowl.  Phoebe is a seal point Siamese, spayed, previously declawed (front paws), and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She only has one tooth left, so please ensure her meals and treats are very soft so she can safely enjoy them.  Phoebe was at another shelter and needed our help.  Please help find her a gentle hero.

Mrs. Doubtfire , 12, needed us when her previous owner passed away.  She is easy-going and thoughtful, and happiest each day when you return home.  Mrs. Doubtfire is great with gentle kids and cats and she is spayed and previously declawed (front paws).  Please help find her a gentle home.

Shelly politely asks for someone to love and a calm home environment.  She is a Malti-Poo (Maltese & Poodle), 5 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Shelly is housetrained (pads & doggie door) and she loves children and cats.  She is fine with most dogs, but can get jealous if she feels they are stealing attention from her.

Sophie yearns for peace and serenity, except when it comes to catnip on her toys!  She will enjoy very much the quiet and calm moments at your side.  Sophie is a beautiful, leonine silver tabby medium-hair, 2 years young, previously declawed (front paws), spayed girl, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She is fine with cats and dogs, but needs them to be gentle and respectful of her personal space.

Kiana will follow you around the house to remain in your presence and offer gentle companionship.  She is a lovely girl, 3 years of age and spayed, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Kiana was surrendered by her previous owners with a severe ear injury and they said she was not getting along with the family's new dog.  We had emergency surgery provided for Kiana and her ear is healing fine.  Please help find her a peaceful home, indoors-only, for life.

Dinah , a gentle young spirit, longs for a peaceful and mellow life. She is a dainty, gorgeous blend of Ragdoll and lynx point Siamese, 3 years of age and spayed, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Dinah is drawn to soft-spoken people and calm-natured cats. We rescued her from another shelter.

Brook likes to be held gently, sneaking kisses on your cheeks.  She is so grateful for kindness and care.  Brook is a Poodle, 5 years of age and spayed, good with other sweet dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue Brook was on the Vegas streets with no sign of responsible ownership, terribly neglected, and severely injured (a dislocated leg, consistent with being struck by a vehicle).  Thanks to the generosity of donors, we had hip surgery provided for her (which has been successful) and Hair of the Dog spa beautifully cleaned and groomed her for a fresh start.  Please help find someone wonderful to adopt Brook so she will always be cherished and safe.

Lana , a Silky Terrier getting a fresh start at 12 years of age, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Included here are her two pictures taken this morning, along with her Before & After pictures taken at Hair of the Dog spa , which generously cleaned her up and gave her a sweet new look.  Lana loves being held and reassured.  She is gentle and humble, and good with other dogs too.  Lana had been at another shelter and needed our help.  Please help find someone wonderful for her!

Please help find a hero for Vanilla Bean .  She was in perilous, emaciated condition at the time of rescue.  Since then her veterinarian determined she has hyperthyroidism (a glandular disorder) and on a special diet over the months she has regained some weight and energy.  Vanilla Bean now feels adventurous enough to roam the central corridor that houses the cat condo playrooms, meeting every visitor who wants to say hello to her.  Vanilla Bean is a snow-white medium-hair, about 6 years of age and spayed, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Madeline's eyes reveal her worry.  We rescued her from another shelter, but she does not yet realize that she is safe.  Madeline's previous owner neglected her, perhaps for years, and we had to shave and trim away much of her coat to get rid of the knots and give her a fresh start.  Madeline deserves to know what a responsible and loving home feels like.  She is a Cocker Spaniel about 8 years of age, a spayed girl, good with other gentle dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

It's not too late for Patricia to find out what a loving home feels like.  She is 12 years of age and the tiniest of lovebugs -- weighing just 3 pounds -- and she is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Patricia was found near a commercial intersection in Vegas in emaciated condition.  Her veterinarian believes her thinning hair is due both to age and malnutrition from starvation.  Patricia likes being held and gets along well with other dogs.  Her spirit is still muted -- she likely gave up all hope long ago -- but we want her to realize she is safe and watch the sparkle come back in her eyes.

Velvet's nightmare is over and her future will be so full of love and adoration that it is beyond her comprehension.  Velvet was found in downtown Vegas in shockingly atrocious condition.  Besides extreme filth and matting and emaciation, her head was shaking in pain from a severe ear infection and her left eye was missing.  Now cleaned, groomed, medicated, eating premium food, and comforted by volunteers, she is recovering beautifully.  Velvet is a gentle Lhasa-Poo, 3 years of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please help find Velvet a hero who will ensure she never knows disregard or cruelty again.
