Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Even groomed, Poppy's hair had fun in the great winds today sweeping through Las Vegas. He didn't mind a bit because being held and praised is his top comfort.  Poppy is a gentle "Schnoodle" (Miniature Schnauzer & Poodle mix), 7 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, good with dogs and older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Poppy needed us due to his previous owners' financial hardship.

Mr. Smith needed us when his previous owner passed away.  He is an earnest, gentle Wirehaired Dachshund, 6 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Mr. Smith enjoys belly rubs and cuddling.

Nigel appreciates people being very gentle with him. He is an adorable hedgehog, 4 years of age, and ready for adoption in the Lovebugs Room at Nevada SPCA . Nigel is missing some of his teeth, so he needs help with moistening and softening his food. He was at another shelter that asked for our help and Nigel's background is otherwise unknown.

Patrick is happiest resting on your lap in peace.  He is a good-natured and affectionate tabby, 3 years young and neutered, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Patrick likes gentle cats and dogs.  He has been healing well since his rescue, but his veterinarian was not able to save his infected left eye. Patrick is adjusting fine and ready to join a loving, forever home.

Nero is so content in your arms that he may follow you around the house until you pick him up and hold him for snuggling.  He is a tranquil 12-year-old orange tabby, neutered boy, good with cats and dogs, and he's ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Nero's right lip is usually curled, involuntarily, due to missing teeth, including his top right incisor.  He needed us when he was abandoned by his previous owners.

Carmine is an earnest youngster who worries people are going to hurt him.  He flinches if you move toward him too quickly.  Carmine is a Toy & Terrier mix, 1 year of age, housetrained, neutered, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is good with other dogs and we believe he will adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog.  We rescued Carmine from another shelter that asked for our help due to his abusive past.

Sir Hugs A Lot grabs your hands with his paws and holds tight, pleading for kindness.  He is recovering well from severe neglect and malnutrition, the latter contributing to 25 of his teeth that had to be extracted.  Sir Hugs A Lot is a Toy Poodle, 7 years of age, neutered, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help.  Please share his picture to help him find someone who will cherish him dearly.

Colby, March 20 Colby, March 19 Colby, March 19 Colby is brightening and understanding that loveless days are over and that his future may be full of adoration. He is a super cute Miniature Poodle, 10 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Colby was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his severe neglect.  Special thanks to Hair of the Dog spa for cleaning and grooming him so handsomely to help give Colby a fresh start.

Von is a gentle boy on the road to recovery from severe starvation and eating premium probiotic food.  He has gained two pounds since his rescue and can now debut for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Von may have 7 pounds to go to reach ideal weight.  He was found about a mile from the desert and we can only speculate whether he was starving at a private home or if he was trying to survive near the canyon mountains.  Von is a Shiba Inu & Shepherd mix, medium-size boy, neutered, about 7 years of age, and good with other dogs.  Please help us find Von a wonderful, loving forever home where he will never again experience desperate hunger or loneliness.

Tommy is remarkably thoughtful and kind.  He was at a special event last night (Party With Your Pooch) and met thousands of people and dogs, and he loved everyone!  Tommy is a gold-cream & white Chihuahua, about 5 years of age, neutered, and good with other dogs.  We rescued him from another shelter.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these fun new portraits to help him find a forever home.

Bailey is a gentle Cocker Spaniel who was at another shelter with a severely damaged eye.  We rescued him, had his eye removed at a veterinary hospital, and then placed him in a loving foster home so he could heal in peace and begin his adjustment to life with one eye in a home environment.  Bailey is about 8 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He enjoys other dogs and adores people who snuggle with him.  Please help us find Bailey a forever home where he will be cherished and showered with affection.

Damon's spirit is rebounding beautifully and he is now ready to join a loving, forever home.  He is a Toy Poodle, about 6 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Damon enjoys other dogs and he is drawn to gentle people.  At the time of rescue he was found cowering in a Las Vegas street where he was nearly struck by vehicles.  He was in very poor and matted condition, and understandably terrified.  (Sometimes dogs who are abandoned in the middle of roads will remain there or return there expecting their previous owners to come back for them.)  Damon is now shaved down for a fresh start, eating premium food, and he's so grateful for everyone's kindness.

Rusty is forlorn, heartbroken and lonely.  He cannot understand why he lost his home due to his previous owners' declining health.  Rusty takes great comfort in being around other dogs and we strongly prefer adopting him into a home where there is another dog (or dogs).  Rusty is a very handsome Shetland Sheepdog, about 4 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is reportedly fine with cats too and housetrained and crate-trained.
