Mateo

Image
Mateo , an earnest youngster recovering from severe neglect, is eager to know what a loving home feels like.    He is a friendly Poodle mix, 1 year of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Mateo was so matted at the time of rescue that he was unrecognizable. A man found him wandering the streets with nowhere to go and no sign of responsible ownership.    Please be patient with Mateo as he adjusts to you, your home, and your lifestyle.

Jerry

Image
Jerry , 8, is an outgoing and friendly boy seeking a loving forever home.  He is an attractive, medium-size Terrier mix, housetrained, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Jerry is compatible with some dogs, but picky with others.  He became homeless because his previous owner said he is not good with cats.  Please visit and ask for Jerry by name.

Batman

Image
Batman is on the lookout for a loving, forever home.  He is a clever, outgoing, and friendly youngster with a devoted nature.  Batman is a Border Collie and Terrier mix (Border Collie size), 1 year of age and neutered, good with kids & dogs, housetrained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

Louie

Image
Louie is blind. If you hold him with confidence, he feels very much at ease in your arms. Louie is 1 of the 24 chinchillas rescued earlier this month. 12 are still awaiting loving, forever homes at Nevada SPCA. All are recovering from neglect and approximately 8 years of age. They were allegedly being used for breeding in a previous home. We are seeking homes where they will be cherished for their individual personalities and spirits, never to be bred or neglected again. Louie adores people, but he gets anxious being around other chinchillas. He is one of the few chinchillas who need to be adopted separately, while most of the others need to be adopted in pairs due to their very social natures.

Tonka

Image
Tonka loves people and we hope he always keeps his jovial spirit.  He is a large, handsome Bull Terrier, 3 years young, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Tonka is friendly and outgoing.  We have mixed information on whether he can be compatible with other dogs.  He needed us when his previous owners moved away without him.

Tomas

Image
Tomas now holds his head high, meets people with ease and asks for petting.  This young boy has come so far! At the time of rescue he was out on the streets and so ill and weak that his head hung low near his feet.  Tomas is a handsome boy, 2 years of age, neutered, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA in the Ocean Playroom.

Magnus

Image
Magnus has quiet, powerful charm and a friendly nature and he is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a good-looking Cocker Spaniel, 4 years of age, neutered, and good with other dogs.  Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming. At the time we rescued Magnus he was at another shelter with a torn ligament (from trauma unknown). He has been healing well and now he is ready for a fresh start and new life.

Nick

Image
Nick is a 118-pound sweetheart with a wonderful, friendly disposition.  He is 2 years young, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.   Mastiff knowledge is required for his adoption.  We saved Nick from a shelter that needed our help.  Please visit and ask for Nick by name.

I'm not just sad for myself, but for the kids who were taught that it was okay to dispose of me.

Panther is a wonderful treasure, an exceptionally friendly boy who likes children and dogs.  He wants lots of touch and affections, so please be sure you have plenty of quality time for him every day.  Panther is about 4 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He also enjoys sitting at a high point in the room so he can watch over everyone.  Panther's previous owner said he was being surrendered because "the kids want a kitten", which is unacceptable.  We believe Panther and all of these animals, loving and emotional beings all, deserve better than to be the victims of people who consider them disposable.

I am feeling hopeful again.

Sammy loves being around people -- getting belly rubs, sitting at your side, enjoying a leisurely and peaceful day.  He is housetrained and good with kids.  Sammy is 12 years of age, a blend of many breeds including Retriever & Shepherd, and he prefers not to be around other dogs.  Sammy was so forlorn about becoming homeless -- his previous owner cited "not enough time" as the reason for giving up on him -- but thanks to caring volunteers he now looks forward to each day and taking walks and hearing praise.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing Sammy's bright spirit in these new portraits to help him find a loving, forever home.
