Luna Luna Theresa Luna and Theresa are 2 of the 19 kittens we just rescued from another shelter that ran out of space. We do not know what they endured (their previous owner was unintelligible), but they are desperate to feel secure. Yasmin Ryder Leonardo Yasmin , a pregnant cat expected to give birth this week, and 15 motherless kittens so far today need foster homes. She is a soulful girl, 2 years of age, and very grateful for kindness and comfort. Ryder's name is inspired by his love of shoulder rides and cuddling up against people's necks while they carry him. He is 7 weeks of age. He was found in a family's garage trying to escape the desert heat. Leonardo is a sporty kitten about 3 months of age. His foster commitment is very short -- as little as 2-3 weeks -- until he can be neutered and prepared for adoption to a loving, forever home. We want to share Liza -- an inspiring, blind, 10-day-old kitten rescued yesterday from a storm drain -- and tell you about her remarkable will to live. She's stolen the hearts of everyone here and her foster mom and others are doing everything possible for her survival. Liza was discovered after yesterday morning's rains by a dog who was going for a walk. The couple walking the dog said the kitten was in a crevice, appearing to be holding on so as not to wash down through t he grates of the drain. Liza's eyes were completely covered in an enormous scab of crusted infection. (We have Liza's before picture, but ultimately decided it is too graphic to post). Liza's foster mom, Sonja, is encouraged by her progress so far. Liza was resistant to the bottle yesterday, but increasingly reaches for it and accepts it. John watches people carefully to learn all he can.    He is an adorable baby boy, well-socialized in a foster home since his rescue, and terrific with other cats. John is 1 of 25 rescued kittens ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA! At the time of rescue, John was found alone in a family's backyard with no sign of his mother. Please kitten-proof your home for his safety.     Jack , another rescued kitten ready for adoption today, was also found alone and trying to fend for himself without his mother in sight.  We placed him in the same wonderful foster home with John and the boys were raised together.  Jack is also very playful and loving.  Please visit and ask for them by name.

10 babies -- 16 days old, 5 girls and 5 boys -- are now safe and being placed in foster homes this afternoon for bottle-feeding and other nurturing care. We rescued the puppies from another shelter that asked for our help. Their mother, a Bully mix, was reportedly confiscated from a backyard breeder. Her previous owner was allowed by authorities there to reclaim her, but only after she was spayed to ensure she never breeds again. The authorities refused to let the mother's previous owner have the puppies and instead directed the babies to our rescue program for foster care and then adoption placement in responsible, lifelong homes. 6 more motherless kittens, including Amethyst , have been rescued in the past 2 hours.    There are now 23 motherless kittens who need foster heroes please! Just rescued and needing foster care please! Woody and Jessie were just found in a parking lot with three more siblings, all crammed into a tiny crate without water, abandoned in the direct sunlight. All five were panting and in heat distress. The staff and volunteers cooled them down carefully and all five survived. We would like to place them in a loving foster home for about three weeks to rebuild strength before they are spayed/neutered and ready for adoption.    If you can help them, or any of the other 15 motherless kittens rescued today, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren.

Finn, Bonnie Belle, Marceline Finn Bonnie Belle Marceline 40 rescued motherless kittens need foster homes! He is about 10 weeks of age and his foster commitment needs to be approximately 2-3 weeks for socialization and care until he is old enough to be neutered.
