Cookie , a demure girl eager to devote herself to someone kind, thrives with order, routine, and stability.  We don't know what she has endured, but strangers concern her and she watches them closely to learn their intentions.  Cookie is a gorgeous girl with warm eyes, a blend of Rottweiler and Smooth Collie, 6 years of age and spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  She was at another shelter and needed our help.  An experienced home can help her understand she is safe and treasured, allowing her to bloom to her full loving potential.

Jasmine , a baby girl who survived a neglectful home, does not yet perceive the world as a safe place.  She worries that people don't like her and lowers her head hoping that strangers don't notice her.  But every day, Jasmine improves a bit more with trust and socialization. She is desperate for kindness and wants reassurance from people with tender touches.  Jasmine is a Labrador Retriever mix puppy, 6 months of age and spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  A big sister or brother dog is ideal for her continuing progress.

Jason shines when you praise him.  He is a super cute Yorkshire Terrier mix, 5 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with cats & dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Due to a previous traumatic incident with a child (details unknown), Jason fears children and won't tolerate being around them.  He is eager to love and become a valued member of a stable forever family.

Donovan likes you to kneel down beside him so he can slowly approach you. If he feels you are safe, he will step forward onto your leg to draw closer to you.  Donovan is a sensitive youngster with enormous loving potential. He was mistreated by children in his previous home, which confused him and made him suspicious of the intentions of strangers.  Donovan is a Poodle mix, 3 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

"Where do I belong? Who can I love?" Johan needs the time and patience of a gentle hero to find his place and gain peace-of-mind. He has tremendous loving potential and must continue building self-esteem and confidence. Johan is a stunning blend of breeds (reportedly Husky & Shepherd), 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA . He is housetrained and compatible with gentle, older kids.    Johan needed us due to his previous owners' financial hardship.

Antonio's previous owner died (his human mom) and he suddenly became intolerant of men. We do not know the circumstances of what occurred, but we have observed his fear of men.  Antonio is a Beagle with enormous loving potential in a stable, gentle home. He is 8 years of age, neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Please share his pictures to help him find a hero.  We look forward to the day when Antonio no longer fears strangers and understands that no one is going to hurt him.

Picasso needs to learn his only "job" is to love and be loved. He is a radiant youngster with enormous loving potential. His unique nose coloration adds to his overall charm and he is most likely a blend of several breeds, including Aussie & Shepherd, 2 years of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Picasso was found abandoned on the streets and several things suggest a dreadful previous home. He is quite wary of some people and wants them to remain away, while he takes very warmly to others and acts like a puppy with them.    An experienced home can help Picasso learn that he is safe and that he can trust his caretaker/owner to only allow friendly people around him.

Winzig , a tiny little "firecracker" with enormous loving potential, longs for a peaceful home with a stable lifestyle routine. Winzig likes being around other dogs. But he is not at all sure he wants anything more to do with humans. We don't know what Winzig has endured, but all indications suggest a dreadful and traumatic previous home environment. He is intolerant of anyone reaching for him until he has decided he trusts them.    Winzig needs a hero with extraordinary patience and understanding. Sandra Dee , a darling junior puppy, is so bashful she tries to avoid making eye contact. She would rather lean her head against you and hider her face and hope you keep petting her. Sandra Dee is ready to bloom. With kindness and patience, she will continue building self-esteem and confidence, becoming a well-adjusted girl. Robin dearly hopes someone wonderful can see his enormous loving potential. He needs someone to believe in him. Cruelty has scarred his soul. He worries who he dares to trust. But Robin wants to connect with people and attain peace-of-mind. Robin is a Shih-Tzu mix, 3 years young, a neutered boy, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.

Keegan ("small flame") is a 4-pound youngster with enormous loving potential.    He is a Longhair Chihuahua & Yorkshire Terrier mix, neutered boy, 1 year of age, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Keegan was at another shelter that asked for our help. He reportedly came from a dreadful home where he was crated in solitary for up to 15 hours daily. Understandably, he fears crates and cries when he sees them.    Worse, he is head-shy and can get nippy when he thinks people are going to hit him. A gentle home with kind guidance and a very steady lifestyle routine will do wonders for him. We also believe Keegan may adjust best with a big sister or brother dog for comfort and companionship. Persephone , a 2-pound girl, has enormous loving potential.    But she is terribly afraid of hands because of past abuse. Even if you are holding her gently in your right hand, she is terrified your left hand will hurt her. Persephone needs a hero -- someone patient and gentle who will be patient and understanding.    She is a cream & white Chihuahua, 8 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued Persephone from another shelter.

Fernando is a thoughtful Cane Corso who beams when he knows the people around him accept him. He is 4 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. All indications suggest that this boy had a disturbing background. His ears were crudely and jaggedly cut off, he is many pounds underweight, he may have been taunted by kids, and he was abandoned at another shelter (that asked for our help with him). For Fernando's continued improvement and to err on the safe side for nip/bite prevention, a very experienced and adult-only home is strictly required. Fernando likes his caretakers and wants to please them. He is shy with strangers, but bonds easily and strongly with people once he knows their intentions. His loving potential is enormous. While he cannot be adopted to a family with kids, we ask for your help finding Fernando someone with advanced dog training/behavior skills who can make a lifetime commitment to him. T...

Delano , a noble young boy, asks for someone to be patient with him and to give him kind guidance.  He wants to please, but he doesn't yet know what is expected of him and strangers worry him.  Delano is an attractive German Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, housetrained, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We don't know what Delano has endured. A steady lifestyle routine will help him feel secure so he can continue blooming.

Bonnie kissing Wayne, one of her caretakers. Bonnie likely never knew what a hug felt like. She is now accepting kindness beautifully and realizing that people can be nurturing. Bonnie is the 6th of the 33 medium-size Heinz 57s (Beagle, Whippet & Mini Bully mixes) confiscated from squalor and horrors. Her previous owner was convicted of animal cruelty. More details. Bonnie is a 23-pound sweetheart, 3 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    She is fine with other dogs (her size and larger only).    Bonnie needs a hero who will be very patient and understanding with her.

Toby is enthusiastic about joining you for a lifetime of adventures and smiles.  He is an athletic youngster, very attractive blend of Retriever & Shepherd, 2 years of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Toby enjoys other large and good-natured dogs and he is crate-trained.  He needs help with not being mouthy during playtime (putting your hand in his mouth) and taking treats from your hands gently. We strongly prefer finding him an owner who has experience and skills with dog training so he can reach his full loving potential.

Victor does not yet know that he is safe or that the world can be a kind place for him. He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his severe timidity due to past abuse and lack of socialization. Victor will certainly improve with time, patience, and the guidance of a big sister or brother dog. He needs someone very understanding who will nurture his development and not force him into situations he cannot yet handle. Victor is a young Yellow Labrador Retriever mix, 2 years of age, now neutered and debuting for a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA.    We look forward to the day when he is confident, at peace, and standing up proudly without fear in his eyes.

Patrick worries that people don't like him. He carefully studies new people for signs and doesn't feel worthy of love. Patrick is magnificent, but does not yet know it.    Each day he seems to build a bit more self-esteem and confidence. Compliment him with reassurances and praise and he hangs on to your words to feel better. Winston is tiny (6 pounds), but he has firm and strong resolve to never let anyone hurt him ever again. He may put up a gruff and grumpy demeanor to hide his fear, but it's a pleading demand to spare him further pain. Winston accepts kindness from people he trusts. He wants to love and be accepted. He has enormous potential and will continue improving in a very experienced, adult-only home.
